It is about 90 minutes from Canberra, just over an hour from Thredbo and Perisher and Mt Selwyn snowfields and 1.5 hours from all the beautiful beaches that the South Coast has to offer. A short drive of under 7 minutes takes you to the Murrumbidgee River on a sealed council road. There is a flat grassed picnic area and council gas run b-bques under cover. You may find internet and mobile not fully covered here. I have a mobile that I use which works well depending where I stand. Now has 3 adjacent camp sites available. If not booked by others its a quiet spot amongst a bush setting. also offers an RV site. You can relax around your firepit and enjoy watching the beautiful wildlife that come to visit the property including Kangaroos, Wombats and a variety of native birds. The host runs a Day Spa from her home so you may like to treat yourself to some self care. Please check with host as to availability of Spa Treatments. Why not check out our outdoor clawfoot bath during your stay. It's an amazing experience under the stars! Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough. We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly. No pets please as we have a wildlife corridor here. * I am considering quiet well behaved pets for campers but not in the bush hut. Will verify soon*.

Bimbimbi is located at the free flowing, clear beginning of the Murray River, at Tintaldra. We have 5 separate sites. Each site is for a single group, so you know you will only have yourselves in close proximity. Each site has access to the river, although The Fishing Hole, River Red Gums and The Big Bend have better access than The Willows and The Old Pump Hole. Swimming, fishing for Murray Cod, hiking along the river bank (we have 3km of frontage), bird watching, relaxing are typical things to do here. Or, if you are more adventurous, borrow our canoes and do a down river trip, or go for a longer hike up Pine Mountain in the Pine Mountain National Park. Or, bring your mountain or road bikes and do some cycling on the picturesque roads and trails. The campsites are well spaced out, with a minimum of 200 metres between the nearest two locations. In fact, it either impossible or very difficult to see anyone else at the other camp sites from your own camp site. Each camp site is accessible via its own track, so you won't have other vehicles driving past your camp site. We have a Leave No Trace policy, please take all rubbish with you. (This also means not throwing bottles, cans, bottle tops, aluminium foil and other non-biodegradable items into the camp fire.) Dogs are allowed, but please keep them under control, particularly if near cattle. Campfires are allowed only in braziers provided, when fire bans are not in place. You can gather your own firewood or purchase firewood from us (see "Extras"). Please arrive before dark if you haven't been here before. It is difficult to understand a new camp site in the dark. We provide a toilet at each location, for your convenience and the cleanliness of the camp site in general. Nothing but your human deposit and toilet paper in the toilet please. No disposable wipes, nappies etc. Please put these in your trash. Also, bring your drone but use it only over locations that are not occupied. This has 4 bedrooms bathroom, 3 rooms have queen size and 1 has a single, kitchen, heating when required is a slow combustion wood stove very relaxing. There are no amenities for campers, please BYO and leave no trace. There is plenty of branches and wood on the ground for a fire but please no fires when fire bans in place. Dogs are OK but as we are a sheep property they must be well controlled and on a leash and not left to roam. We prefer smaller dogs. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather your own. If you want it cut it for you then buy some as an extra and add it to your order. Please check with the host on arrival regarding local fire conditions. No set areas for camping - choose when you get here. Suitable for caravans, motor homes, tents. Lots of options! Several high country huts, all re-built since the January 2020 bushfires, are within an hour drive. Nariel was a thriving community during the gold rush, at that time there were 4 schools and a pub in the valley. Historical relics and gold can still be found. Panning in the creek and tributaries can be a rewarding pastime. The Nariel Creek provides a great spot to cool down in summer and is fast-flowing for a fun float through rapids. In spring the Nariel Valley is where you will find some beautiful wildflower sites. Nariel is home to the Nariel Folk Festival held over a week in late December – early January each year. And that is only in Nariel Valley! Corryong is the nearest township (population ~1350) and is 25 minutes away. The Murray River at Towong is 40 minutes away. Kayaking, push bike riding and many other pursuits are all on your doorstep if you can drag yourself away from Nariel.

Paula and her husband (whose name escapes me) were wonderful hosts, Paula pointed out some other nice camping spots for me around the area and some walks on the property and through the forest to do. Access to the creek was a little difficult but that was mainly due to the long grass and me worrying about snakes with my dog. Easy access just down the road though. Great shelter and amenities and the views were amazing with the changing light and clouds. My dog was very welcome and he loved walking around the farm and seeing the cows. The whole area is beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

Outstanding, we have never had a better camping experience, private, quiet and so comfortable.. The shelter meant we could enjoy ourselves in any weather. Being able to have a hot shower every day using the clever little set up over the fire was just bliss. The hosts are lovely and have provided so much to make guests comfortable. Toilet, shower, solar lighting, bbq and cooking utensils, sinks with running water, huge table to enjoy a meal around and 3 diferent fire areas. We so appreciated that our dog was welcome and he loved his walks around this beautiful property (leashed, there is cattle, kangaroos and wombats) and then relaxing in our huge fenced site. The creek across the road was gorgeous, shallow enough im spots for paddling, deep enough in others to swim. We just parked ourselves there every day on a picnic rug for the entire day. We stayed for a week but could have stayed so much longer looking at the clear starry sky each night.

Really enjoyed our stay here, nice and private (you can see the house but it's far away) and there are great views of the valley. Very friendly hosts, toilet and donkey shower very good. Creek was a bit too chilly for us but must be great to swim in in summer. Definitely recommend to all.

I provide clean linen and blankets and quilts. A fur throw for the colder nights.

Weekend Trip to Ingelara Farm

We had an absolutely amazing time camping on Beatrice, Tobias, Laurence & Lina’s land! The entire experience was fantastic, starting with the hosts, who are incredibly welcoming and accommodating—they really went out of their way to make our stay fun. The property offers two distinct and great sites. We found that both have lots of free space for setup, which is wonderful. For those prioritizing convenience, Site 2 is closer to the toilet and shower facilities. The scenery around the farm is breathtaking; the lake and the surrounding farmland are truly beautiful. It’s a very peaceful and picturesque setting. One important tip for future Hipcampers: since the sites are located around 700 meters above sea level, it can get quite chilly, even during late spring. Be sure to pack extra layers and warm gear for the evenings! Overall, we had a blast and highly recommend this beautiful spot.

It was a lovely place to stay for a few days. There’s some nice dirt road drives around the place. We drove up to a snow cabin and a beautiful deer jumped in front of the car for a minute and looked back at us as it passed by. The fire places were fantastic. Hot water was a bit tricky to organize so we didn’t bother with a shower. Lots of good dry places to hang out if it rained.

A big thanks to Paula and Pat for an amazing stay over the weekend. Paula checked in with me before the trip (as she was away) and Pat met me on the day. There was a (very pretty) thunderstorm on my first night but it didn’t matter to me as I was undercover and could still enjoy the space. I loved sitting by the fire and reading the weekend away. The amenities are amazing - the drive in is easy (off a bitumen road) and I made it with ease in my Tarago (no 4wd) . Amazing birds all around and the rosella’s are very friendly.

My family and I recently stayed at The Shelter for 3 nights, fantastic time. Very well setup the extra space it afforded us when it rained was really handy and would be the same from the sun in summer I assume. a Number of fire spots and hot water can be boiled over one of them which was great for dishes and shower if you need it. The creek was real nice to walk along and as there is private access some distance from the nearest bridge very private. Oh and there is gold in the creek my son found a little while panning. Will be back.

A very quiet spot in a beautiful location. Great setup to be under cover, especially in winter to keep the frost off the swags. Table, sink, fire pit, toilet, solar lights and an awesome aspect up and down the valley. Around a 4 hour round trip to see snow. Would highly recommend.
