Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, local strawberry and tomato picking, and 4WDing at nearby beaches and through Cairncross State Forest.
Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement.
The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. During NSW School Holidays, host led animal interactions will be available at designated times.

The Hastings is still tidal at our place so the access and flow varies throughout the day - we generally take our littlest kids down at low tide. Swim, fish or explore our hiking trails though the old growth riparian vegetation along winding creeks. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

It's off-grid stuff - no power, no showers, little to no phone reception but one of the most peaceful places you can experience.
There will sometimes be cattle in the paddock - so to make this plain there could be cow poo around your area. If that is a worry to you, it's best you camp on a farm without livestock. If you do camp with us, and our cows are in the paddock, they are friendly and won't hurt you, though they can be quite inquisitive. We endeavor to keep our moo friends in other paddocks, but this is a working farm and we have to manage our pastures and put our animals where they are able to be safe and have enough food to stay healthy.
If you're here at the right time of year, you might catch a Bass or see a Platypus (but only if you're very, very quiet). There is a lot of bird life (Kingfishers, Wrens, Finches amongst others), reptiles (water dragons and lace monitors), and - of course - our farm animals.

If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim.
The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise.
There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush.
Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in.
It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's.
The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish).

We are a 4 minute drive from the historical town of Gladstone, which has a bakery, butcher, general store, retail shops, fruit and veg shop, nursery, cafes, restaurants, an op-shop, second hand wares shop, galleries, outdoor swim centre and of course the local pub.
Gladstone Markets are on the 3rd Sunday of the month. It's a 20 minute drive to South West Rocks, Hat Head and Crescent Head. Just 45 minutes north of Port Macquarie and 1 hour south of Coffs Harbour.
Please arrive before dark, or advise arrival time if not possible . You must be fully self contained, there are no facilities. Please no tents or swags.
Enjoy a beautiful campsite near a large dam, watch the ducks, rosellas, cranes, herons and the occasional Jabiru, feed and nest in the trees. A great spot for bird watching.
Pick your own spot, maybe near one of the fire braziers, but not directly under the trees if windy. No livestock on property but we have visiting kangaroos, tortoises, green frogs, and eels in the dam if you want to fish for them.
Mid Coast Flying operate a private 800 metre airstrip on the property, and Trial Instructional Flights (TIFS) are available, for $150 for 45 minutes. Please speak to Ross when you arrive.
You can pick your own site.
Unfortunately we may have to close after torrential rain events. We are also pet friendly, however there are no bins, so please pick up after your pets in the camping area.

Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement.
The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Please note that all animal interactions are self-led (including our animal nursery), and children must be supervised by their parents/carers. If you are into birds you will see plenty here - in the last 12 months we have counted nearly 100 different species on our property!

It's off-grid stuff - no power, no showers, little to no phone reception but one of the most peaceful places you can experience.
There will sometimes be cattle in the paddock - so to make this plain there could be cow poo around your area. If that is a worry to you, it's best you camp on a farm without livestock. If you do camp with us, and our cows are in the paddock, they are friendly and won't hurt you, though they can be quite inquisitive. We endeavor to keep our moo friends in other paddocks, but this is a working farm and we have to manage our pastures and put our animals where they are able to be safe and have enough food to stay healthy.
If you're here at the right time of year, you might catch a Bass or see a Platypus (but only if you're very, very quiet). There is a lot of bird life (Kingfishers, Wrens, Finches amongst others), reptiles (water dragons and lace monitors), and - of course - our farm animals.

If you want to avoid the crowds our property is only 10 minutes drive to great local surf and fishing beaches at Crescent Head. There is an abundance of bird life, the odd kangaroos and wallabies, and other wildlife. There is a melaleuca forest that children are welcome to play in and build a cubby house, and 2 pretty little dams to catch yabbies, and for dogs to enjoy a swim.
The property where camping is provided is approx 20 acres with a limit of 10 groups so you can find your own little piece of paradise.
There is plenty of fire wood for you to collect on the property on your way in. Please help yourself to any fallen timber for firewood but please do not cut any standing trees down. When checking out, ensure you properly extinguish fires and return any unused firewood to the bush.
Dogs are welcome to be here off leash as long as they are well socialised and reasonably obedient. There is large areas for them to run freely and dams to swim in.
It is accessible via a 2WD dirt road, even with a little wet weather. If rainfall is extreme we recommend 4wd's.
The property is completely off grid so we have a 'leave it as you found it' approach. This means you will need a camp toilet, and to take all of your rubbish with you. We are a rural property so do not have rubbish collection services. (Fees apply for any left behind rubbish).

We are a 4 minute drive from the historical town of Gladstone, which has a bakery, butcher, general store, retail shops, fruit and veg shop, nursery, cafes, restaurants, an op-shop, second hand wares shop, galleries, outdoor swim centre and of course the local pub.
Gladstone Markets are on the 3rd Sunday of the month. It's a 20 minute drive to South West Rocks, Hat Head and Crescent Head. Just 45 minutes north of Port Macquarie and 1 hour south of Coffs Harbour.
Please arrive before dark, or advise arrival time if not possible . You must be fully self contained, there are no facilities. Please no tents or swags.
Enjoy a beautiful campsite near a large dam, watch the ducks, rosellas, cranes, herons and the occasional Jabiru, feed and nest in the trees. A great spot for bird watching.
Pick your own spot, maybe near one of the fire braziers, but not directly under the trees if windy. No livestock on property but we have visiting kangaroos, tortoises, green frogs, and eels in the dam if you want to fish for them.
Mid Coast Flying operate a private 800 metre airstrip on the property, and Trial Instructional Flights (TIFS) are available, for $150 for 45 minutes. Please speak to Ross when you arrive.

Yarras East is a working cattle property in the Hastings Valley hinterland 65km (50 mins) west of Port Macquarie (40 mins Pacific Hwy). The pristine Hastings River flows along the northern boundary for 7km providing unsurpassed swimming, fishing and canoeing. Easy access to the river. We encourage catch and release fishing. Dogs are by arrangement only. COST PER NIGHT IS FOR UP TO 8 ADULTS, MINIMUM OF 2 NIGHTS STAY, CLEAN MODERN LOO PROVIDED.

What a brilliant place to spend some time and relax .
Sites are all large and well kept . Great location on the Wilson’s River . Great swimming spots for both adults and kids.
Toilets were clean
Rick & Cheryl was so friendly and loved the homemade cookies and fresh eggs .
100% will be returning - this time for more than two nights .

It’s very obvious the Hosts have put a lot of work into making this HipCamp site the best it can be. From immaculate long drop loos to playground for the kids and access to the River.
Eggs & Firewood if needed, not much more you could wish for.
Quiet night with the sound of the River in the background.

We had a great stopover at Jali. So so peaceful. Mick and Ann were very social and accommodating. The pool & happy hour drinks at their bar were great. A spot of fishing off the bank was also good. Highly recommend.

We stayed on Site 1 which was powered, close to the river and swings. Was a fantastic place to stay for a few nights on our travels.
The animal feeding each afternoon was an absolute hit with our kids with Cheryl and Rick putting in a lot of effort to make it a great experience.

Nice flat and mowed campsites with plenty of space between sites. Short stroll through an old Casuarina forest dotted with stag and elk horn ferns to get to the crystal clear river. Our dog loved it too. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful location and hosts. Grassed camp ground on the picturesque Wilson River. Rick and Cheryl are amazing, so friendly and accommodating. Animal feeing was great and the home made biscuits for sale were amazing. Drop toilets were so clean. Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely beautiful spot! Lovely lush grass, beautiful big sites and the water - absolutely beautiful!!! Very family friendly. Did a little farm tour with Cheryl which was lots of fun! Even walking away with a few fresh veggies out of her veggie garden! Will definitely be back & highly recommend to anyone and everyone!

We loved our stay and really couldn’t ask for more. Great little touches to make everything spot on for guests.
Especially loved that the camping area has been fenced off from the farm, keeping the area free from droppings.

Great campsite with a peaceful vibe and beautiful natural surroundings. Rick and Cheryl were fantastic hosts—very responsive and welcoming. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the sites were spacious with good privacy. Perfect spot to relax, enjoy nature, and unwind by the campfire. Would definitely come back!

We had sites 3, 6 and 11 we all fit on site 3, huge site. We had an awesome weekend, kids loved the boogie boards ,kayaks, bikes and scooters. The river was great for swimming, fresh and clean. We made use of the pizza oven with fresh home made pizza for dinner. Kids went to the animal feeding, they absolutely loved it, I would highly recommend this hipcamp we will definitely be back, thankyou Rick and Cheryl for an amazing weekend you have an awesome property 😀

Absolutely love this hipcamp, hosts are amazing, property is beautiful, swimming is amazing, amenities are great having the bikes , boogie boards and kayaks the kids had a ball , always something to do .
