Approximately 45 minutes from Orange, 4 hours from Sydney. The region between Molong and Parkes offers scenic views, bush walking, bush camping, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, and 4WD touring. To the northwest lies Goobang National Park that includes Caloma lookout, one of the high points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park. The area is a bird watchers' paradise - you can often spot birds of prey, such as wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons, soaring across the sky. Black cypress pines, grevilleas, lomandras and heath feature commonly on the landscape. There are many tall grass trees in this area too, some of which are believed to be hundreds of years old. This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream. There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was. Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower. If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company. It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal. Our farm is a work in progress.

Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January). Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish". Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep and 2 dogs. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer. The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans. Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks. For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre. The property consists of 300 acres of vineyards and a working winery located on the western end of the farm.In wet weather, you'll need a 4WD to access the last 100m Access to paddocks is over some rocks so low clearance vehicles not recommended.Dog friendly. Burrill Creek Camp is peaceful with a gorgeous bush camping feel yet so convenient. Easy access from Newell Hwy, only 30km from Parkes and for those that need it, 4 bars of Telstra 4G!. There are public toilets about 5km up the road at Alectown. There are plenty of well spaced camp spots to choose from, most with fire pits and a generous supply of fire wood. Sun sets filtering through the trees were a highlight for me. Burrill Creek runs through the camping area but it wasn't running when we stayed. Host Tony and Lorraine were very helpful and responsive.

We had a lovely night stay at Burrill with the most accommodating hosts Tony and Lorraine. We had a flat site with plenty of space to explore. Lots of firewood available and awesome fire pits with BBQ plate to use. Nice and quite, lovely outlook over the paddocks Will definately be back!

Our family loved camping at Andrew and Lana's property. We had a great time, we had the whole place to ourselves. There is a lot of space if other people were to come you could easily spread out. Fun little creek to explore, simple swing set up for the kids which they loved. Good access to the town of Parkes and the radio telescope. Great fire pit area and lots of wood around. Would definitely recommend. Was great to meet Andrew, he popped by to introduce himself and check if we needed anything.

Although we only stayed for one night and got stuck in a storm, we were very happy with our first hip camping experience. Tony and Lorraine were easy to communicate with and checked in on us as the storm passed over! The sites are easy to access and and very level even for bigger vans (ours being 22foot) Would highly recommend burrill campground
