Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ. There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together. For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include: Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes) Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes) Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes) Eltham Hotel (15 minutes) The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes) Bangalow Markets (20 minutes) Important information: Linen not provided. Doona, sheets, pillow tea towels needed. PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this. This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler. Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road. You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

Our property is a 150 acre working organic produce and cattle farm with undulating land, lush green grass, mountain views and a creek surrounded by ferns. The camp site is hilltop with amazing views including that of Mount Lindsay, Mount Barney and the Border Ranges. Most times there are animals for children to pet, baby rabbits, calves, lambs etc. In September-October we have fireflies at the creek. We can take 2WD. Be in touch so we can let you know what the local conditions are. The Lodgings are a neat and clean 2007 caravan suitable for two adults and three small children. All linen is provided. The caravan is powered so has lights, heating and cooling, cooking, kettle, hot water etc Although we are dog friendly NO DOGS are allowed in the caravan Amenities (toilet, shower) and self contained kitchen including fridge, stovetop, oven and grill, is provided in the van. Kettle, Tea and Coffee provided Kyogle village is a 20 min drive. supermarket, butchers, locally crafted giftware, clothes and furniture Kyogle is known as a "gateway" to many national parks including Border Ranges National Park and Toonumbar National Park. Whichever way you travel to our farm the drive is picturesque with untamed wilderness and quaint, dreamy villages to pass through. Enjoy the drive

Our stay at the treehouse was everything we needed for a peaceful reset. Nestled on a beautiful property near Springbrook National Park, we were surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature, pure tranquillity. The space felt private, serene, and perfect for a night by the fire, a homemade dinner, and a cosy board game inside. We had everything we needed. The fairy lights twinkling around the treehouse and the beautiful flower garden made it feel truly magical, like stepping into a little hidden haven. The owners were so lovely and welcoming, clearly pouring so much passion and care into both the treehouse and their property. They made us feel right at home and shared some great local recommendations, including a refreshing swim at Hart Bridge and a coffee and plant shop at a gorgeous nursery café down the road. Plus, we loved saying hello to all the friendly cows on the way there! It was the perfect nature escape, peaceful, thoughtful, and full of charm. We couldn’t recommend it more.

First time “glamping” instead of camping and What an incredible experience from booking to packing up to head home the entire process was made incredibly easy and enjoyable with Kristy & Dan being an absolute stand out as hosts. We stayed in the tiny home “Tiny house on the Rockies” and what can we say except BOOK IT NOW! absolutely everything was provided just bring your food, bevies and fishing rods! The tiny home was perfect to retire to after a fun and relaxing day taking in the parcel of paradise! The giant covered deck was an absolute gem, with rocking chairs and outdoor lounge and a top of the line bbq/kitchen set up we happily lazed the days away with the dogs (yes it’s dog friendly! And we were made to feel so welcome with the fur babies!) in the shade watching the river, morning coffees as the dew broke and evenings watching the stars come out and illuminated the sky from the outdoor bath. The tubes make for a fun lazy float down the river in the warmth of the day and the fire fueled bath tub perfect to warm up and unwind as the evening weather cooled off. We can’t wait to go back and experience it in winter. Thank you so much to Kristy and Dan for a 10/10 experience!

Weekend Trip to Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

We absolutely loved our time at Eagle Ridge bush retreat. This property is stunning and everything we needed for our weekend getaway. The glamping site we booked had everything, from the riverside deck to our own private toilet and shower. This site was so well thought out we couldn't fault it at all. If you want a peaceful getaway by the river we strongly recommend Eagle Ridge. Kristy and Dan were really friendly and helpful and they made the stay all the more enjoyable. Will definitely be back to enjoy this property again!

1 night at Caravan in the mountains

We had such an amazing time at Kathy's place. The location, the setup and the hosts are absolutely incredible. Very welcoming, warm and friendly hosts and the caravan setup is very comfortable. It had all basic amenities and much more - there's a dishwasher, fridge and drinking water. Beds were very comfortable and lots of extra beddings. The view is breathtaking. We had a nice fireplace setup when we arrived and Kathy came up to greet us and was very welcoming. We had such a great night chatting around the fire and star gazing. The space is high up on the hills and you get a full 360 mountain views. The farm animals were very friendly and we enjoyed feeding the rabbits - they were so cute and extremely friendly. Highly recommend staying at Kathy's place. We can't wait to return.

We had a small group of families. Mix of sleepers in the house and campers. You get all the freedom and natural surroundings of bush camping with the simple pleasures that come with a full resourced home. The creek is divine. The breezes ideal flowing under the verandah. We will be back.

The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the owner was very kind. There was also a nice caravan, so even though we didn’t have enough tents, two adults could sleep comfortably. If I have a chance to visit NSW again, I’d love to experience this wonderful place once more.

My girls and I absolutely loved camping at Kathy’s! The caravan was well set up and Kathy was very thorough in ensuring that we had all that we needed. Loved that caravan already had linen and bedding and all appliances were in good nick. Kathy was always responsive whenever we needed anything. The highlight of our stay was getting to pat and cuddle the bunnies. My daughters absolutely loved this and couldn’t get enough. They’re already trying to convince me to move into NSW so we can get a pet bunny! We definitely recommend this spot. Great for anyone just wanting a bit of peace and quiet with Kyogle only a short 15mins away if you need supplies. We’ll definitely be back.

This was a great place to stay for our family, which included our dog who could roam around and was really happy. We loved the serenity, exploring the creek/surrounds and unplugging from technology - cards and Yahtzee are a must! The barbecue was great for cooking and I recommend doing a fire at night. The accommodation is as described and I would definitely recommend the buggy ride down/back for luggage. If you do want to go back to your car and do some exploring around Modenville, it is a fair walk (30-35 mins) from the shack so be aware of that if you have younger kids or are not that mobile you probably just want to hang out down at the shack. Only small negative was the shower was pretty basic. Peter and Tania were great as well, make sure you have a chat and ask any questions. Overall - highly recommended.

So, so beautiful. We ( Nan, Mum and the kids) stayed in the tiny home. It had everything you needed to escape in comfort. Dan and Kristy are so friendly and helpful. We must have floated down the river 30 times whilst the Wedge-tail Eagle flew overhead. There's an abundance of bird life. The outdoor bath was sensational. So many perfect moments. The kids had so much fun 4wd driving down and back up the hill on the way back too. Only regret- not staying longer. What a ripper spot 👌.

Five wonderful nights spent tucked away at Eagles Rest in Findon Creek. Nestled in lush green hillside, this thoughtfully designed, purpose built home provided a peaceful sanctuary. We enjoyed everything from outdoor showers to refreshing dips in swimming holes and relaxing evenings around the fire pit under a star spangled sky. The space allowed us to be completely at one with nature, being surrounded by an abundance of bird song. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we look forward to a return visit. Thank you to our hosts Andrzej & Jane for responding promptly to any small queries during our stay.

We stayed for two nights at the Crystal Creek Rainforest Treehouse and absolutely loved it. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we’d stepped into our own little hideaway in the rainforest. The setting is so peaceful — surrounded by trees, bird calls and nothing but nature. The treehouse is cosy, well set up, and had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the Aneta was very friendly and super helpful. A really relaxing and unique getaway — we will definitely come back!

3 nights at The Meadow -Byron Hinterlands Domes

My wife’s sister came to visit from Canada, and this place was perfect for our whole family to travel together. There were no disturbances at all, and it was a private space just for our family to relax and enjoy, which we really loved. There are many nice areas nearby, making it a great location for light sightseeing and enjoying delicious food. Also, the amazing sunsets and stars visible from the dome tent gave us a perfect escape from the tiring city life. If we get the chance again, we would definitely love to visit again.
