Billabong Flats Farm is a 100 Acre property enhanced by 1km of King River access in the heart of Wangaratta, North East Victoria. It has an abundance of birdlife including Kookaburras, Kingfishers, Blue Wrens, Cormorants and many types of water birds. The property is in a fantastic location to the Wangaratta township as it is only 1.5 kms drive into town to get all your supplies if required including, Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, Dan Murphys, Kmart, Camping Stores, Petrol Stations, Cinema, Bowling Alley and the wonderful choice of Hotels, Restaurants and Take away options if required. Mains water is available at the property to top up your Vans or Gerry cans should you need to replenish, so never run out of water 😊 It is surrounded by picturesque green countryside laden with ancient Red Rivergum Trees and billabongs with access to river frontage for fishing and the King River Site and White Cedar sites have a swimming hole for those hot summer days. The Secret Island site does have a swimming spot but not as safe for little ones. The river is ideal for swimming, floating and fishing. Choose either to relax with a book and a glass of wine and do nothing or go and explore the many attractions of the wonderful North East area including the beautiful King Valley, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen plus many other gorgeous areas that have Art Trails or Silo Art Trails, all of which are 30-60 minutes drive from the property. Billabong Flats Farm sites are very spacious with each section private from other Campers with a fire pit provided at the site plus an abundance of open area for recreation for kids and dogs to run around. The King River Site is an extra large riverside bush campsite that could accommodate a large group of Vans (10 at least). It has a designated fire pit and Campers will need to have own Toilet/Shower amenities and be and leave no trace behind when leaving us. Accessible for most types of vehicles. Dog friendly if well behaved and controlled and won't chase the Cattle. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale (see Extras). We are close to the region’s attractions including 15mins drive to Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, many Lookouts and National Parks, Lake William Hovell, Restaurants, Wineries and Distilleries of this special area.

Only 3 large campsites! Great for family groups and friends, lots of room. Kids under 5 stay free, pet friendly. North East Vic is a tourist mecca, with food and wine, lakes and rivers, cycling and markets, mountains and waterfalls. - We are only 2 and half hours from Melbourne and 20 mins off Hume Fwy, via Wangaratta. Please read the whole listing, lots to tell you about us. Campsites 1 is large and can accommodate two vans and 2 - 3 tents (or 14 -16 people). Campsites 2 and 3 are smaller and more suited to one van with 1 - 2 tents (or 4 - 6 people). Ample car parking. Campsites are 110m apart with a light screen of trees in between, no crowds here. Accessed via 3.5km of rough dirt track - not recommended for low vehicles or low towing vans. The track is rough BUT easily driven by all vehicles - just drive slowly. Dogs welcome, firewood is easily gathered by you, and often in piles by your campsite. Campsites are NOT near water. They are near a dry gully, with an **** unfenced dam.**** We have a beautiful swimming hole at the property entrance, in Boggy Creek. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shaded lawn area, BBQ and pot belly fire. The creek is 3kms from the campsites. Near The Hut is the gate to take a walk up to Sugar Loaf (500m return), where you can see amazing grass trees and place a rock on the cairn. Look for the wallabies that live up there. Stay with us to get away from crowded campsites, to enjoy a quieter holiday, while being close to a great tourist district. The King Valley showcases wineries, gourmet food, eateries, restaurants, pubs, brewery, even a gin distillery. We are surrounded by creeks, rivers and lakes, with many fishing, swimming and kayaking options - all within a 30 minute drive! Take a walk to the top of Sugar Loaf, and see unique grass trees on this rocky hill, while catching sight of Mount Buffalo. 8kms to Moyhu which has a pub, coffee shop, general store - all with great food options. You can get petrol, take away, gas etc.

Brooklyn is a 6 generation working farm. We have plenty of space for fully self-contained parking. We also offer glamping and a tiny house available occasionally (view our other listings). This is a very large area in an open paddock with good access for caravans and large vehicles. You may well be the only people here though there’s is room for 10 vans. There is a view of the Broken Creek which is close to the property & easily accessible by a short walk. We’re are a 10 minute drive to Waaia with an excellent pub and the small town of Nathalia which has a supermarket, hotels, fuel, post office, bakery, gift & clothing stores & other businesses. Whilst there are other facilities on the property, this option is for guests who are self-contained only. Dogs on leash welcome. Actually we had a choice of all Kerryn’s sites and chose the White Cedar. Such a lovely site beside a huge Cedar tree and the King River. Everything was set up. Wood for the open fire together with a grate for cooking, big logs for sitting around the open fire. Bird life was amazing, kookaburras sang night and morning. The solitude was terrific amazing as it was just a short distance from town. I walked my dog on the property and watched the kangaroos. There were even fish jumping in the river unfortunately we forgot our fishing rods. Our hosts were very friendly and wanted to make sure that we were aware of our surrounds and to stay safe. I would highly recommend BillaBong Flats farm it’s in such a beautiful part of Victoria.

Weekend Trip to Red Rock Farm

Could I recommend this place? YES. Can I truly put into words how good it is? Probably not… but I’ll try. The family is so passionate about what they do. The care, love, and knowledge they have for their animals is incredible – especially seeing the kids so involved in running the place. The spacing between the sites is great, and the areas are nice and flat too, which made setting up super easy. As an avid photographer, I actually didn’t take many photos because I was so immersed in the experience and in their stories. Getting to handle the Highland cows was something I’ll never forget. An easy 5 stars from me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My friends and I had the most wonderful five nights off grid camping in our vans. So much space, wonderful swimming hole. The fishing was amazing! Fire pit well set out, so much wood supplied! Kerryn and John were both so lovely, so welcoming and happy to help with any request. The access to mains water on the property was a game changer!! We will be back, in fact we all didn’t want to leave!

A great place to camp. Quiet, isolated and super beautiful surroundings. There is 2x other sites nearby but they're far enough apart and separated by trees that your site feels private. The swimming hole near the house is a bonus on hot days and the flushing toilet close to the camp sites is amazing. Stewart and Gayle pop by everyday to say hi and make sure the fire water containers are full. Definitely going to stay here again and for longer next time.

My kids and I enjoyed a short one night stay on Tim’s property. Tim guided us to the site over the phone, and his directions were clear and easy to follow. Although there were other groups camping on the property, the sites are a long way from each other, and it felt very private. Our site was on a delightful pocket of the Goulburn River. The access tracks to our site were sound but rutted in places, so 4x4 was definitely an advantage, especially in wet conditions like we had. In all we had a lovely time on Tim’s property, and we look forward to coming back for a longer stay sometime in the near future.

The property is the perfect getaway if you want to get away from it all. So idylic and quiet. Our host Tim met us when we arrived, which made finding the camp easy. We booked right at the last minute, not realising it was a Victorian long weekend. We stayed for 4 nights in the Horse Camp, with our schnauzer and cavoodle, who had the best time ever, as this was, super dog friendly. Literally, you have the complete area to yourself, so you can choose to be protected, by the huge sand embankment or park yourself, under a magnificent gum. Tim owns 700 acres of land that has the magnificent Murray river weaving its way through the landscape. We would have loved, to have been right by the river but it was literally a 1 min drive or approximately 10 min walk. We left our paddleboard, boogie boards & noodles for the time we stayed, on the shoreline so our “new” friends, staying right on the river, could make use of them, with their grandkids. We were very mindful to not be annoying but they were so lovely to chat with. If you need anything from the shops, Nathalia is only 18 min away & Echuca 40min. we took a drive one day just to get a delicious gelato in Echuca ( Augustus Gelatery). So so worth it! Can’t wait to return and we definitely will have Camp 1 or 2 (camp 1 probably better for solar, as camp 2 you are very shaded). Fantastic place to take your friends or family, to enjoy everything this special location offers. Thanks for sharing Tim. Highly recommend!!

Goulburn downs was a great find. We had 5 night s camping at the river crossing. Caught plenty of fish and had nice warm fires every night. The weather was mixed but didn't ruin our experience one bit. It was an easy to find property and Tim is a great host. Will be back for sure

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An unforgettable weekend at Red Rock Farm! Our stay at Red Rock Farm this past long weekend was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The highland cattle were even more beautiful in person, and the experience of patting and grooming the calves was a highlight for all of us — especially the girls, who were completely smitten! (Jayde was even more so — she couldn’t stop smiling and laughing the whole time! 🤣🐮) We also loved exploring the property and spotting kangaroos, emus, and even koalas — such a treat! Our hosts were warm, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Their son Lachlan was amazing — so friendly, patient, and happy to answer all our questions about the cattle and the farm. The evening roast around the campfire was a true highlight — delicious food, great company, and a sky full of stars. It was the perfect way to end each day. We’re already looking forward to chatting with them about getting our own highlands next year. Thank you to everyone at Red Rock Farm for an experience we’ll never forget! ❤️🔥🐮
