Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms northeast of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Big Bama and No 3 - you'll need to be fully self contained. There is a dump point in Moama. Toilets can be hired from Central Hire in Echuca. They can deliver it for you. Mobile and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! *Please feel free to book anyone in your possie that is under 18 as a child.

Botanical rare flora and fauna are found on these Sandhills. We have ancient sandalwood trees, remnant Murray Pines, huge eucalyptus trees and myrtle bushes. This country is of The Wolithica clan of the Yorta Yorta nation and is steeped in cultural history. Scar trees, maddens and more. Echidna and wallabies, eagles and sand ridge birds abound.We ask that you leave only your footprints and to know that if you don’t bring it with you it’s not here.The towns of Echuca and Gunbower are not far away And provide culinary delights, paddle steamer rides and lots of activities for visitors. If you want you can just chillax and rewild your senses right here on the lagoon or you can go find adventure close by. Riverside wineries, gourmet food, hire a kayak, go boating or feel the history of the river on board a paddle steamer.

There is a view of the Broken Creek which is close to the property & easily accessible by a short walk. We’re are a 10 minute drive to Waaia with an excellent pub and the small town of Nathalia which has a supermarket, hotels, fuel, post office, bakery, gift & clothing stores & other businesses. Botanical rare flora and fauna are found on these Sandhills. We have ancient sandalwood trees, remnant Murray Pines, huge eucalyptus trees and myrtle bushes. This country is of The Wolithica clan of the Yorta Yorta nation and is steeped in cultural history. Scar trees, maddens and more. Echidna and wallabies, eagles and sand ridge birds abound.We ask that you leave only your footprints and to know that if you don’t bring it with you it’s not here.The towns of Echuca and Gunbower are not far away And provide culinary delights, paddle steamer rides and lots of activities for visitors. Had a amazing night at camp site 6. Its so close to river so we just sat our chairs on the bank and watched the wildlife. There is a fire pit with firewood everywhere. We forgot our camping box ! Tim was wonderful and brought his cooking gear down for us to borrow even though it was so late when we realised our forgetfulness. In the morning we caught 4 fish from the river. Tim allowed us to stay all day and make the most of the beautiful river.

I usually don’t go in to too much detail on hipcamp because as a rule they’re pretty good. So in the interests of fairness and transparency to the hipcamp community out there: This COULD be a really good hipcamp, but there needs to be some clarity and honesty about what it is and where it is located. It is NOT 1 Acre of land it is a half acre at best and narrow and tight.. The truck/car noise is loud and constant, particularly the air brakes on B doubles all through the night. It is tight to maneuver a 9M Van and a 5 Metre 4WD to achieve anything close to a decent campsite because it is so small. We didn’t appreciate being unable to use most of the block because it had been so heavily watered. The only way you’ll get a 9M Van anywhere near the green grass would be by backing in to the site as there isn't a turning circle owing to the placement of power outlets and trees. Even if we had managed it, the the dual axles would have torn the site apart - I wouldn’t appreciate someone doing that to me, hence I wont do it to others out of respect. So essentially what we were left with was the dirt. The Power and water were the only real reward, although proximity by car to Echuca was also well regarded - but it is not 400 metres away. Sorry but Google Maps is pretty accurate on this - its 1000 Metres We drove in, and were forced to reverse out of a tight spot. My suggestion is read this review prior to considering this campsite.
