Welcome to Somerville Park, a 500 acre sheep farm at Fosterville. There are a variety of beautiful campsites suitable for self-contained guests who have their own toilet/shower facilities and drinking water. Please note, all toilet waste is strictly to be taken off the property. Campfires are permitted in provided fire-pits or your own portable metal fire-pit out of fire restriction times and feel free to bring your furry friends, making sure they're leashed at all times. Some sites also provide chairs and table settings for your convenience. The farm is completely surrounded by the Wellsford state forest which offers bush walking and many tracks for bike riding. Mt Sugarloaf which is situated south of the property provides a great hike. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets create beautiful reflections on the water in the numerous dams on the property. Rainfall can restrict access to some sites on the property. The city of Bendigo is 25mins drive. Epsom is a 15min drive where you will find a shopping centre which includes a petrol station, Woollies, Pizza, Chemist Warehouse, Aldi, Brumbys Bakery, Reject Shop, Fish and Chips and BWS. Lake Eppalock is a 25min drive where you can engage in water sport activities. The Campaspe River is 10mins away. The farm is very quiet and restful with the sounds of abundant native bird life and provides great subjects and scenery for the photographic enthusiast. Loud, party groups with music at high volume are not permitted. Chainsaws and motorbikes are also not permitted.

Ellesmere Park Farm Stay was inspired by our trip following the stock routes of NSW by horse drawn vehicles. Many people commented they would love to do that, which gave us the idea of sharing our amazing journey with others. Our camping area is a lot more comfortable than we endured with a well set up camp kitchen, green lawns and friendly animals all in one area. Our mascot, "Lucky lamb", is an attraction all of her own and who else can say "Kevin bacon" lives here! Our farm stay offers a large grassed camping area with camp kitchen. We are located within easy driving distance of Greens lake and the Waranga basin for fishing, boating and swimming activities and only 15km from Rushworth and the historic Whroo township. Campers are welcome to join us as we feed the animals. Fires and pets allowed (read Listing rules). Approximately 1 acre of private, mowed and maintained camp grounds in amongst a 25 acre property. With creek frontage and access, water most of the year round, feel free to explore the property. The night sky is not to be missed on a clear night. Plenty of native wildlife, including a wide range of birds and kangaroos, there is also a friendly mob of sheep who will approach for a closer look. A fire pit is provided and fire wood is available for purchase. *STRICTLY* No wood is to be collected/gathered/cut down from the property. We ask that you leave the place as you found it. You can BYO firewood. IMPORTANT: We do not offer toilet facilities, so all campers MUST be self contained and take all waste including rubbish with them. Strictly no dumping of waste or greywater on the property. Pets are welcome, but they MUST remain on the property to protect wildlife, our livestock, neighbours livestock and for their own safety. A short 15 minute drive to Bendigo CBD and 25 minutes to Heathcote, there are lots of activities to see and do including wineries, breweries, and cafes. 10 minutes to Lake Eppalock, there are other National/State Parks to visit, with the popular O’Keefe Rail Trail within 10 minutes. 1 night at Goulburn Downs

My kids and I enjoyed a short one night stay on Tim’s property. Tim guided us to the site over the phone, and his directions were clear and easy to follow. Although there were other groups camping on the property, the sites are a long way from each other, and it felt very private. Our site was on a delightful pocket of the Goulburn River. The access tracks to our site were sound but rutted in places, so 4x4 was definitely an advantage, especially in wet conditions like we had. In all we had a lovely time on Tim’s property, and we look forward to coming back for a longer stay sometime in the near future.

The property is the perfect getaway if you want to get away from it all. So idylic and quiet. Our host Tim met us when we arrived, which made finding the camp easy. We booked right at the last minute, not realising it was a Victorian long weekend. We stayed for 4 nights in the Horse Camp, with our schnauzer and cavoodle, who had the best time ever, as this was, super dog friendly. Literally, you have the complete area to yourself, so you can choose to be protected, by the huge sand embankment or park yourself, under a magnificent gum. Tim owns 700 acres of land that has the magnificent Murray river weaving its way through the landscape. We would have loved, to have been right by the river but it was literally a 1 min drive or approximately 10 min walk. We left our paddleboard, boogie boards & noodles for the time we stayed, on the shoreline so our “new” friends, staying right on the river, could make use of them, with their grandkids. We were very mindful to not be annoying but they were so lovely to chat with. If you need anything from the shops, Nathalia is only 18 min away & Echuca 40min. we took a drive one day just to get a delicious gelato in Echuca ( Augustus Gelatery). So so worth it! Can’t wait to return and we definitely will have Camp 1 or 2 (camp 1 probably better for solar, as camp 2 you are very shaded). Fantastic place to take your friends or family, to enjoy everything this special location offers. Thanks for sharing Tim. Highly recommend!!

Weekend Trip to Somerville Park (Bendigo)

Somerville Park is large plot which hosts a number of sites. Staying at Somerville Park - Valley View site was perfect for accommodating our extremely large extended family group. There was plenty of space for our large family's numerous tents. Kids had a blast cooking their marshmellows in the fire and enjoyed the open spaces to play and kick a ball. Fun to see the sheep, alpaca, the native birds and kangaroos. Hosts were a pleasure to communicate with, very informative, helpful and very responsive. Thank you Rebecca/Sheryl

Awesome campsite! You wouldn’t know there was anyone else on the property, was completely private. Easy distance to the river for fishing and swimming. Great for the kids to ride bikes, and the dog to run free. Plenty of firewood- even some chopped and ready to go - thanks Tim!

Beautiful property, original planned a weekender on the Murray but stopped in for the night and ended up staying 3 nights. Camped at two locations top dam and bush seclusion. If you are after a peaceful spot with privacy and big camp spots I would highly recommend.
