To ensure all our guests have a comfortable and spacious experience, each campsite is designated for one camp set up only (eg one caravan or camper trailer or tent) This allows us to maintain a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere with plenty of space between sites.
The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet.

Our sites are available for booking up to 3 months in advance.
Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under control.
Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place.
Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.
Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

The cottage is situated directly across the road from the river and boasts a private beach and grassed area. There is amazing fishing as well. Sunsets are the feature here with incredible views across to the hinterland. Watch Kangaroos, dolphins, eagles, pelicans and a ton of fish! We also have horses should you be interested in some 'equine experiences' (ground work only). You will forever remember your stay at River and Sky Cottage!

We operate as a cottage industry, processing alpaca fleece & manufacturing products from it. We regularly conduct tours & maintain a small farm shop.

Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.

There’s plenty to do nearby — enjoy a meal at the Harwood Hotel, stop for morning tea on Chatsworth Island, or join in local favourites like the Maclean Cane Harvest Festival, Maclean Highland Gathering, Yamba, Iluka and Brooms head famous beaches and the Grafton Races. The Groundswell Guest Camp would love to welcome you to enjoy an exclusive camp in a tranquil native bush setting. The camp is located on 100 acres of unique grasstree forest in Taloumbi, NSW. We are just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway, between Maclean and Brooms Head. The camp is currently set up for private use for one booking. Please contact the host first for group bookings (up to 15 persons).
There is a sink with filtered rain water on the deck, an instant gas hot water shower behind the main deck and also a compost toilet. There is a small solar power set up to run the sink and shower pump. The site in OFF-GRID on tank water only, so it is important to be mindful of water use and make sure taps are off when not in use. Bring your own cooker, lights and chairs. Mosquitos come and go depending on weather or season. It is good to be prepared with coils/sprays just in case.
Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash if they are a threat to wildlife.
You can swim in the dam when full. Enjoy a meditation or sunset drink over looking the dam and admiring the wildlife that also use the watering hole. Please relax and enjoy your time at Groundswell.
We are currently working on a network of trails inside of the 100 acres. There is a "TRAIL" sign at the start of the trail behind the orchard.
The Spa at Groundswell is now open at the owners home. Please contact the host for massage. Limited times are available.
Our nearest beaches are just 5-10 minutes at the Yuraygir National Park Campground entrance and the beautiful quiet beach town of Brooms Head. Brooms Head has a general store and a snack shack, coffee and convenient essentials. Fishing, boating, spear fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, kite surfing, motor bike trails (Candole State Forest), coastal walks, and beach walks. Yamba is a 30 minutes drive and has great surfing beaches, plenty of café options, shopping, a lighthouse, breakwall walk and fishing.

Shark Creek Retreat is an ongoing conservation project, where I call myself the caretaker of these beautiful wetlands. I have dedicated 77 acres of it as a wildlife sanctuary, it is a member of the Wildlife Land Trust and has joined the Land for Wildlife environmental community. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly.
Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base.
The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees.
After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property.
Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban.
We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience.
Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking.
Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home.
Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house.
We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking.
The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill.
In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence.
The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future.
During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar.
The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing.
The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive.
The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services).
We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore.
We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs.
Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs.
We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by.
We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. We are in Core Koala Habitat and love our koalas, we hope you do too.

Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.

There is a sink with filtered rain water on the deck, an instant gas hot water shower behind the main deck and also a compost toilet. There is a small solar power set up to run the sink and shower pump. The site in OFF-GRID on tank water only, so it is important to be mindful of water use and make sure taps are off when not in use. Bring your own cooker, lights and chairs. Mosquitos come and go depending on weather or season. It is good to be prepared with coils/sprays just in case.
Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash if they are a threat to wildlife.
You can swim in the dam when full. Enjoy a meditation or sunset drink over looking the dam and admiring the wildlife that also use the watering hole. Please relax and enjoy your time at Groundswell.
We are currently working on a network of trails inside of the 100 acres. There is a "TRAIL" sign at the start of the trail behind the orchard.
The Spa at Groundswell is now open at the owners home. Please contact the host for massage. Limited times are available.
Our nearest beaches are just 5-10 minutes at the Yuraygir National Park Campground entrance and the beautiful quiet beach town of Brooms Head. Brooms Head has a general store and a snack shack, coffee and convenient essentials. Fishing, boating, spear fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, kite surfing, motor bike trails (Candole State Forest), coastal walks, and beach walks. Yamba is a 30 minutes drive and has great surfing beaches, plenty of café options, shopping, a lighthouse, breakwall walk and fishing.

Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base.
The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees.
After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property.
Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban.
We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience.
Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking.
Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home.

We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking.
The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill.
In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence.
The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future.
During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar.
The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing.
The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive.
The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services).
We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore.
We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs.
Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs.
We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by.
We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. We are in Core Koala Habitat and love our koalas, we hope you do too.

The North East facing sites overlooking the river and rocky cliffs opposite, the view is really quite serene. There is easy river access, ideal for launching kayaks or heading in for a dip.

We live on-site and are slowly restoring this special land, including the old Grafton Racecourse Beer Pavilion. The composting toilets and clever camp showers were thoughtfully built using recycled materials and offered for campers to use.
At night, light a fire, enjoy a cold drink, and take in the stars. We’re easy-going and happy to give you your space. Camp fires must be contained Sept-April. Large fire pits provided and firewood for sale on site.
The sites are listed for vehicles under 9m, but if your setup is larger, feel free to contact me and we can usually work something out ☺️

Two Mile Crossing is a 101 acre property consisting of mostly bushland with a small creek running through the middle, offering primitive bush camping for those who love to be out in nature. There is abundant birdlife here such as black cockatoos, kookaburras and tiny little robins, you will see bandicoots and the occasional goanna. The creek flows year 'round and when there has been good rains, there are plentiful deep water holes to dip your feet into and get cool.
There are a few walking tracks throughout the property for those who like to take short walks and for longer bushwalking adventures, Two Mile Crossing is bordered by the Fortis Creek National Park where there a plentiful tracks for those who love to explore the bush.
We are only 20 mins drive from the 'mighty' Clarence River which is great for swimming, canoeing and fishing and we are also only 25 mins from Grafton central which has shops, cinemas and places to eat.
Just recently we have added two gorgeous piglets to our family who love to hang out with us and the chickens. Come and help us feed every afternoon.

Loved the whole experience. Easy to find. Had the luxury to pick our own site, had the best spot overlooking the river. Very picturesque views! Plenty of hospitality with squiggles giving us more than enough fire wood. Very accommodating and nice fella. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a chill weekend off grid. An amazing site with total privacy, lush bush setting, and fantastic facilities. I spent 4 days here for a solo nature retreat. The land felt deeply supportive and having the facilities of the kitchen, toilet and shower was a wonderful bonus. Highly recommended!
