Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley

Our first time off grid camping in our new van was fantastic at Cranky Rock. So much space in the paddock and the cows and horses were fascinating to the dog. The property was lovely, full moon, so many stars and the sun was so warm during the day. Went to Wollombi and explored, which is such a lovely town, amazing food. Drop toilets every paddock available for use, BYO toilet paper. Would definitely come back with friends, well worth a visit.

We had a quick, but memorable visit to Kellie's beautiful property. Enjoyed walking around, playing with the dogs, relaxing by the campfire, and had a quiet restful evening. Thanks so much for hosting us :)

Amazing setting, we arrived late and the host had out fire already lit! The camp kitchen is very well equipped, great place to relax. Highly recommended and we shall visit again.

4 nights at Hillside Camp on Bow River

Hillside camp is a great spot for a quiet time away camping. Each campsite is well placed, away from others on the huge property. The camp has many great walking tracks, 4WD tracks and is really well sign posted throughout. Beautiful views, peaceful and great wildlife. The host David is also a great guy, super helpful and keen to make sure our stay was the best.

2 nights at Beelisco Honey Hipcamp

We loved our stay here at Beelisco Honey campground. This property is stunning! We camped on the Baerami Creek camp site and it was so relaxing. Ben and his lovely boys visited us on arrival to say hello and deliver our wood. My intention was to always buy Honey from Beelisco, and it did not disappoint… best I’ve ever had. Hostess M’liss also makes some beautiful products from the natural wax…best lip balm ever! This was such a relaxing stay. The creek was running and we enjoyed walking the property. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Hedley Hideaways - Thompson's camp

We had a fantastic weekend stay at Rikki's property. The land is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, with open paddocks to explore and friendly cows to visit. Such a relaxing countryside experience. There are also some lovely hikes around the property, including a walk up to the plateau with stunning views of the valley. Well worth the effort! The facilities were excellent, with clean toilets and hot showers. One thing to note: the site provides 10amp power, so if you're bringing a 15amp caravan, make sure to bring a converter. Rikki was a great host and set up a massive firepit for us, which kept us warm during the chilly winter nights. They also provided some firewood—though it wasn’t quite enough for the two night, however we had already brought our own. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet escape with great amenities and a beautiful rural setting.

What a relaxing stay even in winter!! A lovely big fire pit was waiting to great us on arrival. Wonderful hosts who dropped by for a chat and we got to meet beautiful 7 week old border collie Chance!!! Will definitely have to come back in summer to experience swimming in the river.

The house was fantastic! The pictures really don't do it justice! We had the fire place going all night to keep us lovely and warm. Our host Debora was lovely and so accommodating. The site had everything you could ever ask for, lovely views, a couple of good fishing spots and magic scenery. 10/10 would rent again!

We absolutely loved the camp by the creek! It was beautiful and peaceful, plenty of space and a lovely fire. We got a visit from one of their dogs (who happily explored with us and got many pats) and the owners came down with testers of their honey. The property is a tranquil bush setting , with the majority of the camp sites set into individual private bush areas , with larger areas for groups of friends that wish to camp together. i have been there many times , and continue to go back as Bunyip is just so nice , and the hosts Lisa and Robert are friendly and welcoming. cannot wait till my next time at Bunyip

OKA is a beautiful peaceful haven. Kel, Rod and Dean the caretaker make sure your stay is welcoming and lovely from start to finish. As the dogs welcome you down the drive to the sad morning when you say see you again soon. OKA is a haven for when I do weddings on the North Coast.

It was a very quiet spot camped under a huge pine tree, very cosy. Good quality firewood for purchase. The camp spot backed onto a very dark and moody creek, definitely home to Bunyips. The hosts were very welcoming. A nice spot.

Great location, Deb was a super friendly host and overall smooth experience. Beautiful riverfront countryside spot to enjoy nature and slow down. Definitely recommended. GPS made us detour a few times due to incorrext (old) roadworks so worth ignoring the supposed closure of branch river lane/road.

Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee. For those a bit more adventurous, we take you to our drop off point at Luskintyre and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 4 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going. Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them. A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee.

Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol. Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store. Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving. Camp Kitchen is a communal area for all guests, leave clean and tidy. Leave No Trace – please take all rubbish/items and dispose correctly. Dogs on request, friendly and well behaved, restrained on arrival as we have free range chooks. Pick up dog poo and take it with you. National Parks are nearby, you should familiarise yourself with their domestic pet rules; locations, all available on the NSWNP website. Fires – on arrangement, you are welcome to bring your own firepit and firewood or OKA can supply. Before setting up, we will organise pavers and sand to ensure our grass is protected. The ultimate Farm Solitude Camping experience for nature lovers seeking adventure, peace and serenity. This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park. Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves. All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after. Note: The National Parks conduct their annual wild dog baiting program, from the 19th May which continues until October. Baits will be dropped 1km from our boundary. Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only. 4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks. Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley. All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Phone Service is very limited in this area. If you email a request, sometimes it may take a few hours for us to reply. WARNING: There are many areas of cliff edges and shear drops! Children must be supervised at all times while exploring these areas. There are also dams at or near some of the campsite areas that could be dangerous if children wander off exploring alone.

It's a beautiful place to snap a pic especially if you catch the morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets which are guaranteed to wow you. Do as little or as much as you want to on your stay. A perfect place to just unwind and take in the fresh country air and beautiful views. Stroll around the property and visit the old barn and some of the sheds and farming equipment that are scattered among the paddocks. You will have access to composting toilets or feel free to BYO facilities. Campfires are welcome in the pits provided, permitting there are no restrictions at the time of your visit. Dogs are welcomed as long as they are supervised and kept indoors at night. Being within 20 minutes to the local town of Coolah, it's a perfect stop over for an overnight stay or for a long weekend. You can easily duck into town to stock up on supplies or visit a good old country pub for a meal. We look forward to meeting you.

Horses also welcome - we have a fenced cattle yard. Hot Showers are available. There are toilets placed around the property. We have communal sites plus separated private sites for those that would like some privacy. (If you would like a private site, please message us once you have booked). Have a Fenced off Kids Playground. Buggys (allowed any weekend at an extra fee). Quads and dirt bikes also allowed PLEASE NOTE; They are an extra fee and only allowed on specific weekends. As we like to keep our property quiet for everyone to relax from the hassle and bustle of everyday life. Please see our website or Facebook page for dates. Buggy Tours and kids quad rides are available (extra costs). We would like to advise that entry to our beautiful property is a dirt road and does have mounds. The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. We suggest to drive over them on an angle and take your time. We have lots of people come in with trailers and campers and have not had a problem. But do not recommend it if you have a lowered car. Any concerns, please contact us.
