A dairy farm for many years, we switched over to beef around 15 years ago. Currently we run around 120 head of Angus and mixed breed cattle.
Within 3 hours drive of Sydney and around an hour from the Barrington National Parks, Newcastle, Maitland, Forster and Nelson Bay, it makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway!
We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river.
There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing.
All sites are site only and no toilet or shower facilities are provided. You will need to bring your own camping toilet or self contained caravan/ camper (dump point is located in Stroud township)

A 12-acre cleared driveway features spacious, level camping sites, with an additional 100 acres of flood-free paradise where guests can choose from multiple camping locations.
There are four major dams that are deep and clean, and a recently built gravel road along the northern boundary leads to Gypsy Corner, where you can watch the sunset over the mountains and see the trains rolling by three kilometres away.
An unlimited supply of dry firewood is available, composting toilets are on site, and you can walk the 5.5 kilometres of fence line without seeing a single house.
Abundant wildlife includes kangaroos, goannas, bandicoots, and wallabies.
Guests must take great care when walking in the bush. I supply hard hats and warning signs where appropriate. Push bikes and canoes are available for use, and there is great fishing along the Lansdowne River on the way to Harrington and arguably the most beautiful beach on the Mid North Coast—Crowdy Beach.
Mount Vincent Lookout is directly north and about a 20-minute drive, with the Lansdowne General Store only 10 minutes away.
During summer, small fires are allowed for cooking only, but in the cooler months it is possible to sit around a campfire all night.
Animals may be allowed, but please check with me first regarding what you have, and I will let you know.

Camp at Riverside Hilltop:
For sweeping views, set up at the Hilltop overlooking the river. Launch your fishing rods, canoes, SUPs—or even a jet ski (no jetty, so launch from the riverbank). Watch swans glide, birds greet the dawn, and deer pass by as the river becomes your playground.

Hayden and Ash live on-site and will guide you to your spot—whether riverside or hilltop. They’ll give you the farm rundown, share local tips, and help you feel right at home.

As an active beef farm we may have cattle in the paddock you camp in but the site will be secured by temporary electric fencing to ensure your safety. Hence, we ONLY allow dogs to stay whilst on a lead or tethered run at all times. Dogs sighted off a leash will result in you leaving immediately with no refund.
Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming, fishing, photography or just enjoying. Wedgetail Eagles, Black Cockatoos, Black Shouldered Kites, Kookaburras and Butcher Birds life in the area. As do kangaroos, possums and echidnas. Our night skies are very clear, no pollution here!
All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent).
Our sites are ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. You must have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste. This is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. As is the case with general rubbish.
You should bring sufficient water with you as we do not provide drinking or potable water. You will have very good mobile and internet coverage across the property.
When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand.

There is also 15min to Big Nelly where you can drive to the top of the mountain and many other stops to stop and look over the region, so you can take a picnic basket and flask, if you feeling more adventures you cam stop at Watui Falls amd then head up and over the mountains to ... WARNING this trek of mountain road is only accessible by 4WD.

The Riverside Farm Escape is a family owned cattle farm situated on the picturesque Wang Wauk River in Minimbah, Mid North Coast NSW.
Our well maintained, grassy campground and RV stop provides spectacular views of the Wang Wauk River, which flows into the magnificent Wallis Lakes.
The Riverside property spans 103 acres of rich farmland and has over 500 meters of river frontage, ideal for kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing, with water access to Forster / Tuncurry. A gravel boat ramp provides easy access to Wang Wauk River ideal for small boats/tinnies.
The property also boasts a beautiful dam, full of blooming lilies, a favourite for the kids to kayak and swim. Surrounding natural bushland is teeming with wildlife, including wallabies, kangaroos, lizards, and vibrant native bird species.

A dairy farm for many years, we switched over to beef around 15 years ago. Currently we run around 120 head of Angus and mixed breed cattle.
Within 3 hours drive of Sydney and around an hour from the Barrington National Parks, Newcastle, Maitland, Forster and Nelson Bay, it makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway!
We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river.
There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing.
All sites are site only and no toilet or shower facilities are provided. You will need to bring your own camping toilet or self contained caravan/ camper (dump point is located in Stroud township)

Abundant wildlife includes kangaroos, goannas, bandicoots, and wallabies.
Guests must take great care when walking in the bush. I supply hard hats and warning signs where appropriate. Push bikes and canoes are available for use, and there is great fishing along the Lansdowne River on the way to Harrington and arguably the most beautiful beach on the Mid North Coast—Crowdy Beach.
Mount Vincent Lookout is directly north and about a 20-minute drive, with the Lansdowne General Store only 10 minutes away.
During summer, small fires are allowed for cooking only, but in the cooler months it is possible to sit around a campfire all night.
Animals may be allowed, but please check with me first regarding what you have, and I will let you know.

As an active beef farm we may have cattle in the paddock you camp in but the site will be secured by temporary electric fencing to ensure your safety. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming, fishing, photography or just enjoying. Wedgetail Eagles, Black Cockatoos, Black Shouldered Kites, Kookaburras and Butcher Birds life in the area. As do kangaroos, possums and echidnas. Our night skies are very clear, no pollution here!
All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent).
Our sites are ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. You must have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste. This is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. As is the case with general rubbish.
You should bring sufficient water with you as we do not provide drinking or potable water. You will have very good mobile and internet coverage across the property.
When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand.

Peace , quiet and a river to float and relax in was exactly what we needed after the chaos of xmas. The dog has a blast too!
Old Ceder was very private and exclusive even though there were plenty of other campers nearby.

We loved Trevor's property, it was so clean and tidy and the grounds are extremely well kept. We stayed for 2 nights to explore the Forster and Lakes areas. The stars were also amazing! Tonnes of space for the kids to run around and play. The sites are very spaced out also. Great spot.
Trevor checked in on us each day to make sure everything was going ok. We're grateful you offer your property for campers! Thank you for having us.

We loved camping at Willow tree!!! What a fabulous spot for children & families. The camps are lovely and spacious, generously spread out between camps that there is lots of privacy. The river is perfect for young children to swim in. The kids loved watching cows, listening to the birds and try to spot the platypus.
Our lovely host Jo was warm, welcoming and hospitable to us from the second we arrived.
We will definitely be coming back to Willow Tree again soon!!

From the moment we arrived it was beautiful wildlife lazing around and once greeted by Trevor knowing we were only there for 1night with a van he showed us to a great spot his horses in the distance , hubby was happy he could have a fire just off the highway … will definitely be back

We had a wonderful 1 night stay at Trevor’s. The instructions were clear, down a gravel road and we arrived at the beautiful camp ground. Trevor met us on arrival and showed us to our pitch. The place was as described, the toilets were as to be expected.
There was plenty of space even in high season and we felt far away and private from other guests. Trevor kindly took the time to introduce us to his horses and lovely whippets and was a ver hospitable host and an interesting man. We enjoyed our night here very much and would stay here again, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a campground in the region!

Spacious, quiet, campfires, pets allowed, clean toilets, close to adjacent town (5 mins) with fuel, coffee and great bakery. Easy access to highway to get to local coastal towns.
Hosts are excellent and always checked in to make sure everything was going OK.
