We would like to advise that entry to our beautiful property is a dirt road and does have mounds. The road has just been upgraded and although has dirt mounds is quite easy. We suggest to drive over them on an angle and take your time. We have lots of people come in with trailers and campers and have not had a problem. But do not recommend it if you have a lowered car. Any concerns, please contact us.

Yengo National Park has some wonderful look out spots-great to drive to Finchley lookout to watch the sun set or check out Aboriginal art sites.

We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort.

The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

Singleton is about 30mins to the north and has a large shopping centre and many other attractions.
Cessnock is about 30 mins to the East, has a population of over 20,000 people and excellent facilities including a private airport.
Newcastle is about 1.5 hrs drive away and has a commercial airport and many other facilities of a large sea side city.
Wollombi is about 20min drive to the South and is one of the first areas settled in after Sydney. It has many items of historical significance including jail, museum, post office and Wollombi Tavern, the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice.
Sydney is about 2.5 - 3 hours south.

We also occasionally offer a camping site in our front paddock with a spectacular 80km view over the Hunter Valley.
It is an ideal off-grid bush getaway for families and groups, offering peace and quiet, a mountainside of forest, enviable views and sunsets across the Hunter Valley and fresh mountain air. Most importantly, guests have exclusive use of our property in each area, so you don't have to share with other visitors.
We are near Mount Royal National Park, adjoining the Barrington Tops wilderness area. The area is part of the World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest Reserves, a place of great scenic beauty and natural diversity. Best of all, it is quiet and away from the crowds.

Cabins are available on a daily rate or weekly depending on the length of your stay. We have a “NEW” resort-style pool with easy ramp access and camp kitchen facilities including stainless steel BBQs. We have a large amenities block a Disabled Toilet/Shower Facility and a large laundry facility. We are not a “PET FRIENDLY” Park in our Cabin Accommodation, but for Short Stays on Powered Sites we are “PET FRIENDLY”. We have Powered Sites with Concrete Slabs or Powered Grass Sites available and a large unpowered Camp Area for the tent lover.

Callicoma Hill offers bush camping for groups in a forest clearing, an off-grid 10 bed rustic bunkhouse and an off-grid self-contained 3 bedroom eco-cabin in the forested mountains at Mount Royal, on the edge of the Barrington wilderness in the Hunter Valley of NSW.
We also occasionally offer a camping site in our front paddock with a spectacular 80km view over the Hunter Valley.
It is an ideal off-grid bush getaway for families and groups, offering peace and quiet, a mountainside of forest, enviable views and sunsets across the Hunter Valley and fresh mountain air. Most importantly, guests have exclusive use of our property in each area, so you don't have to share with other visitors.
We are near Mount Royal National Park, adjoining the Barrington Tops wilderness area. The area is part of the World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest Reserves, a place of great scenic beauty and natural diversity. Best of all, it is quiet and away from the crowds.
Whether you want an easy walk in nature and peace, an adventurous climb to see a breathtaking view, or are in training for an epic multi-day walk, Mount Royal National Park provides excellent bushwalking opportunities.
Or, you can simply stay at camp and sit and relax!

The farm is such a quiet and peaceful place. Rikki and her family were incredibly supportive and welcoming. We were looking for some quiet time to start our camper adventure, and we couldn’t have been happier. The amenities are great and very clean, and the kids’ playground was excellent as well. We had a great stay at Thompsons Campground.
Arrival was very easy, and the place is comfortable, peaceful and relaxing, perfect for switching off and enjoying nature.
The bathrooms were very clean and pleasant, which we really appreciated.
Rikki was very friendly and helpful, and responded to all our questions quickly and clearly.

We enjoyed camping at Brian and Sally’s place. Felt very relaxed nestled in amongst all of the beautiful trees. Very private and quiet area. Was handy having the pit toilet available and great to be able to take our dog along. Wish I’d packed the antihistamines as unfortunately we encountered a few ant bites and a brush with some stinging nettle!! Despite this we all had a lovely time an would recommend to other campers

Hunter on Elmslie is hands down my favourite camping site so far!
From the moment I arrived, Alan and Sue made me feel so welcome!
Alan greeted me and pointed me in the right direction for the best spots. They’re genuinely lovely hosts and you can tell they really care about everyone having a great stay.
The campsite suits all kinds of campers — swags, tents, and caravans. I stayed first as a solo camper with my dog Billy, then came back with my family for another stay the same week!
I’ll definitely be bringing my caravan back again to test it out too.
It’s very caravan-friendly, with easy access, and also super dog-friendly, my boy loved it there!
The amenities are great, especially the big camp kitchen with everything you need — fridge, freezer, cooking gear, microwave, barbecue, and even a fire with an oven. The hot gas shower was amazing after swimming in the river, and the toilets were always clean and well looked after.
Such a great spot for families, couples, groups, or a quiet getaway.
Thanks so much Alan and Sue for such a great stay and for making us feel so welcome — we can’t wait to come back!

We loved camping here! Such beautiful views and Jacob was an amazing host.
Toilets and showers are very clean.
Spa has awesome views.
We hiked up the glen Alice trail (national park). Easy access to 4wd to gate and then around a 2.5km walk up to the lookout. Jacob also done a 4wd tour up to the lookout through the national park.
I would definitely recommend bringing some shade as there’s not a lot of shady spots. And possibly bringing a portable toilet as the amenities are only at the front of the ground and if you’re wanting to get away from the crowds.
I will be definitely recommending this place and be coming back for another get away!!

Great place for camping and pet friendly. Amazing camp-site and location. Plenty of different camp-sites to book. Hideaway Hollow was very private and plenty of space with 2 dogs running around. Definitely recommended and will be going back again.

Weekend Trip to Wanderlust Retreat
A tranquil place with good amenities. The bell tent was perfect for two, and there were plenty of areas to explore around the camp - no need to leave at all. It was the ideal quiet weekend getaway, and the stars at night were absolutely beautiful. Loved the chickens and geese’s roaming ☺️

Gorgeous views from the campsite and great open space. One of my favourite winerys in the Hunter, Ana is so welcoming and its a beautiful intimate space. Be organised and bring your water as the running water taps/toilets and showers are a little walk away.

Ana is the absolute best host and her land is just stunning. We got to camp right in the middle of the gorgeous vineyard surrounded by rolling hills and breathtaking views. Ana has some of the best wines we’ve had in the Hunter that you can enjoy tasting in an intimate setting where you feel like part of the family. This was a fantastic camping experience for anyone looking to truly disconnect. There is no mobile network, which made it a perfect digital detox and helped us relax and enjoy nature fully. The campsite was clean, peaceful, and well looked after.
The host was friendly and supportive, and everything was clearly communicated before arrival. If you’re looking for a quiet, off-grid camping experience away from city noise and distractions, this place is ideal. Highly recommended!
