Weekend Trip to Riverbend Retreat

Kate was a great host and made sure everything was ready for us, even leaving some delicious fresh fruit. The location was very private and quiet, with plenty of open grass for activities. The shower and toilet were clean and well looked after. Canoeing along the river was lovely, and we enjoyed seeing the cows nearby. The view from the top of the nearby hill (quite a short walk) was amazing at sunset.

Host were helpful. we had a rain all day and host offered pop up gazebo and my car bogged that day, and the host helped to get it out.

Its such a great spot! Plenty of room for a group and short distance to the Eltham hotel and so much more. Kate has it we'll set up with toilet, shower and all the add-ons you'd need if you forget anything.

Beautiful place to get away! Well maintained camp grounds, beautiful views, serenity. Shops are only a 5 minute drive, but you still feel very secluded. Bob was awesome and super helpful. We rented his kayaks to go exploring and fishing in the big dam which is less than 1 kilometre away…. Yes we caught fish

Great spot, beautiful location. Campsites are all a bit too close to each other, not an issue, just don't expect to secluded.

Me, my partner and our pooch spent a night at Riverbend, and we loved it. A great grassy area of the stream, very relaxing, clean toilets, amazing fire area. Picnic table was fantastic, and the new shelter worked a treat. I highly recommend this site

I loved camping at Windmill Creek! It was very peaceful and had stunning views. The town Uki was very sweet and we went to the markets on the Sunday which were nice!! Bob was very friendly and accomodating and let us explore a little bit more of the grounds! Would definitely recommend, and come back again 😊

Enjoyed a few nights here tent/swag camping. Super quiet with awesome view of the river. Nice flat area to camp on with the fire pit and permanent shelter to set up camp around. Lots of rain in previous weeks prior to our stay had the ground soft underfoot but not muddy. Even so, Kate was great at communicating and making sure we had the best possible experience. The toilet and shower (cold) were clean and as seen in pictures. Definitely more than acceptable for a Hipcamp. We were able to purchase extra firewood from Kate and she had campsite essentials available for purchase at fair prices. Overall, great spot out the back of Byron/Lennox with lots of hidden gems around to explore. Would definitely go back. Cheers to the hosts.

Great site right on the river 😁. Rob was a great host and would highly recommend staying here . Fire 🔥 pits were provided along with firewood. We will be back 👍👍👍

3 nights at Windmill Creek Camp

Bob’s property is amazing. We stayed mid week without a soul around and just relaxed next to the river and enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. I highly recommend staying here!

1 night at Tweed Valley Farmhouse Cheeses

The weather wasnt great in fact it was very wet when we arrived. The host was extremely helpfull and arranged our site so we could keep as dry as possible. That plus a wonderful cheese platter made our stay a positive one.

Lovely spot with 3 sites available. We were alone, so very peaceful. Bob checked in with us a few times, plus his Kelpie dog visited too. Close to road but limited local traffic. Would go again.

Great spot, right near the rail trail. Had a camp fire both nights and daily visits from the cows. Cheese platter was fabulous and hosts friendly. Nice to have clean toilets also. Would recommend if doing the rail trail, you can ride a short distance to the trail and leave the van at the camp spot. Thumbs up. Mick & Carolyn.

Good directions and in lovely countryside. There are three sites, and the one down closest tot he river is definitely the one to get. Definitely a good spot if you can get the site closest to the river. Went with a front wheel drive car and was fine.

We loved camping at windmill creek. Was a great little quiet spot for the family. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and the host Bob was very friendly and easy to deal with.

I wasn't able to go because of rain, but Bob was really accommodating and advised me I can come at another time, which he didn't have to do. I'm hoping I can go later in the year, but based solely on my interactions with him, I'd recommend booking with him.
