Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek

We stayed at Barrachi Camp with a mate and honestly had the best time. It was the perfect little escape from Byron — so peaceful, private, and beautifully tucked away on the farm. Peter and Tania have created something really special there, a cosy cabin that feels completely nestled in nature while still being super comfortable. We loved the quiet, the privacy, and just slowing down for a couple of days. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll bring more friends to share this gem. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper reset.

2 nights at Figtree Farm at Findon Creek

Several families of ours spent a truly unforgettable Christmas here. There was plenty of space for children to play, and we could also set up tents outdoors. We enjoyed barbecuing together and singing, and it was all very relaxing. The environment is beautiful and quiet. In the mornings, we could see mist rolling through the mountains, which made the whole experience especially peaceful and refreshing. The host was very kind and patiently explained how everything worked. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing getaway.

We stayed 2 nights in the studio, it was clean, quiet and comfortable and had everything we needed. There is a separate self contained kitchen set amongst a lovely garden. Would definitely stay again.

4 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

We stayed at the Glamping Tent and had such a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the time relaxing and enjoying the creek. There is mostly everything you need in the camp kitchen (4 plates, stainless steel cups, 4 of each cutlery, pots and pans), gas cooker, basin with running water, some coffee and tea. There were 4 chairs and loungers with an umbrella to enjoy the view over the creek. There is a composting loo and shower in the same area. If you are more than 4 people, then recommend taking extra eating utensils and chairs. We took a kayak and SUP board and paddled down the creek to the low bridge which was awesome and went over some rapids. Expect it to take around 2hrs to get to the bridge and have someone fetch you. Can highly recommend this spot. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

4 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

Beautiful spot in the country! Dog and I thoroughly enjoyed swimming, sunbaking, running around on the grass and more swimming! The dirt road to access was a breeze with a 4x4 and a bit of added fun. The tiny home is everything as described. It's clean, comfortable and in my opinion glamping as it had a bbq, hot shower and toilet. Most of the campsites are a good distance apart so you can't see other campers, there's only once site that's close to others. I was very fortunate as it wasn't booked whilst I stayed in the tiny home. Kristy is very down to earth, easy going and a pleasure to communicate with. Thank you so much for a wonderful getaway for myself and doggo.

3 nights at Barachi by the Creek

This little tin shack is like going back in time to stay in a timber-getter's lodge. It is full of rustic charm and nestled at the foot of hills, beside and (importantly) in the shade of a stand of large beautiful camphor laurels, with a small creek running below. It really is camping without the tent, but has everything you need in the way of a solar shower, long-drop loo, tanks of water, solar lights and a small fan, gas cooker and large bbq, outdoor firepit, and even a fire-heated outdoor bath to enjoy under the stars, or in our case, a full moon. The deck is large and comfortable with chairs and a hammock which we spent a lot of time in, and the solar nights that come on at night make for a lovely vibe. The wind in the trees and the sound of the wind chime was so lovely to hear and fall asleep to at night, and the cool night's in the comfortable beds made for great sleeps. Being a tin shack, it does get quite hot especially late morning/midday, but we found shade under the camphor's and loved watching the cows come up close. The creek was really low when we were there as there hasn't been much rain, but it would be so beautiful when flowing in rainy months. Whian Whian Falls is less than 10 minutes away for a lovely swim to cool of, and we dined at the Channon Pub too which is recommended. The kids (3 and 1) loved the space to explore, cows to watch, creek and bath to splash in, and fireside hangs. Peter was such an amazing, responsive, friendly, and kind host.

2 nights at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat

Absolutely loved our time here! The tiny home was perfect for my parents and we stayed in our rooftop tent right next to it. The creek was beautiful and peaceful and we had fun tubing down the creek. Birdsong and wildlife were stunning and we also loved the wild cows making and appearance. The only thing I would mention is that the BBQ is screaming out for deep clean. And if you are in to your cooking, the amenities for cooking are very basic so bring extra utensils, cutlery, oil etc.

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs had the most peaceful, relaxing stay on Peter and Tania's property. Relaxing on the deck and watching the cows graize in the lush, rolling hills was so serene. Cooling off in the nearby creek, watching our dogs play was so special. Thank you to Peter for meeting us and showing us the way. Definitely need a 4wd. We would love to come back again.

Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat was awesome.Kristy The host was wonderful,even drove us out after car trouble and even let us leave car behind until fixed.property and river were beautiful,swimming ,Murray cod to catch,quiet places to sit and read.crystal clear water.the ridge itself is a sight to see and every camp site had something else to offer.we stayed in tiny house and it had all you need for a great weekend away and more.cant say enough good things about eagle ridge.Thankyou also to their neighbour who kindly drove us home.thanks guys we'll be back.not only to pick up our car.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.wonderful property wonderful people.

Weekend Trip to "JALUM" Undulating Farmland!

You just have to check this hipcamp for yourself. The very kind host , Karen is a beautiful free spirit & so so accommodating. My wife & I stayed in the very comfy room at the end of Karen's private residence where we had our own newly renovated bathroom with soft white towels, soaps , shampoo etc...which was fabulous....also freshly cut gardenias on beside was a very nice touch. Access to the camp kitchen with full facilities & a living area/rec room was briiliant & sure makes for a great stay. Karen's surrounding garden was really beautiful...a long chat hanging over the front rail during our garden tour with Karen was delightful. Six campsites are available surrounding the ex- fish farm dams where Karen's horses & alpaca roam freely... Jalum is super relaxing...just up the road from Mooball where you'll find a beaut pub , Moo Moo Roadhouse for fabulous food , drinks & souvenirs Also popular there at Mooball is the rail trail with E bikes for hire. We enjoyed a gorgeous country drive with lush green hills crossing the NSW/QLD border from Murwillumbah through to Nerang...the amazing Beechmont Tavern was packed with punters to be entertained by back to back bands for a fun Saturday arvo/night... Lots to do in the area...even an old old railway tunnel to see on nearby Hulls Road to the Sth & just up the road to the Nth of Jalum on Pottsville Road is The Sleepy Barn where you can chill with a morning coffee or an evening cocktail along with delicious snacks/meals. 💯% score

Barachi by the creek is an absolutely magical place. Peaceful, secluded and surrounded by natural beauty while giving you everything you need for a trip away without all the mod cons. Pete and Tania are speedy and effective in communication and are awesome hosts. Cannot recommend this enough. You will not regret your decision to book.
