There are walking tracks to explore from your door, and a national park to trek in just a few hundred metres away. The Northern Rivers Rail Trail is just 5 minute cycle or drive away, in Burringbar. This is a wonderful mainly flat cycle path going through tunnels, fields and forest, with many picturesque bridges on the way. This is a perfect place to enjoy nature in peace and quiet, sitting on the large deck to watch for wildlife... many birds, goannas and you might even spot a koala. It is peaceful and private. The cabin is roomy and comfortable - with a main lounge/bedroom, a kitchen/pantry, plus bathroom with shower & composting toilet, and a good sized deck looking east. Facilities include a queen sized bed, an indoor wood fire for winter time, a basic kitchen, and a table and chairs. We are off grid so there is solar power, and clean tank water. We provide drinking water in a filtered urn, and basic tea & coffee. There is no wifi, but there is internet access available from your own phone. This is a perfect place to wind down and enjoy the natural environment. There is a grocery store in Burringbar - The Barn - that also sells alcohol, and pizza available on Fridays, and Thai food available for eat in or takeaway on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We had such a great stay at Petaurus Garden! Chris was an awesome host — he upgraded us to a larger tent since it was just me and my husband, and made sure we had everything we needed, including extra torches, lighters, and other essentials. He even offered us a bike ride, which was such a nice touch. We also went kayaking and explored the walking trails around the property- such a peaceful and beautiful spot. There was hot water available for tea and coffee too, which made the mornings even better. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing nature getaway! We will definitely be back 💛

Chris has done a most wonderful job of setting up his camp sites. Our Glamping Tent was very well appointed, extremely comfortable and in a beautiful setting. The toilets and showers were extremely clean and a pleasure to use. Chris went to a lot of trouble throughout our stay to provide the most excellent service. He provided firewood, extra blankets, tea and coffee, local area advice and a level of service we were not expecting in a camp site. The location is also brilliant. Only 30 minutes from Evans Head meant we had the best of both worlds. Privacy and seclusion in a bush setting along with easy access to towns and beaches. We were blown away with the effort Chris has gone to in order to provide the best possible experience for his guests. Congratulations!! P.S. The on-site Paddymelons were an unexpected treat.

Five wonderful nights spent tucked away at Eagles Rest in Findon Creek. Nestled in lush green hillside, this thoughtfully designed, purpose built home provided a peaceful sanctuary. We enjoyed everything from outdoor showers to refreshing dips in swimming holes and relaxing evenings around the fire pit under a star spangled sky. The space allowed us to be completely at one with nature, being surrounded by an abundance of bird song. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we look forward to a return visit. This is an amazing place! We stayed for two nights, four adults and three kids and hired out the large glamping tent plus one tent site directly opposite. Chris is amazing! Such a warm and professional welcome and made us feel right at home. The glamping tent was very luxurious and all the amenities were wonderful. The shower was heavenly! Beautiful grounds, great walks for most abilities. We loved the fire pit, and loved toasting marshmallows and star gazing at night. Great wildlife on the property and the flora was great to walk through. We took a trip to Byron Bay during one of the days, very doable, the kids loved it. Highly recommend Chris and Petaurus Gardens...thank you so much for making our stay so memorable.

2 nights at Amorata Eco Farm

We loved Stuart's place for a peaceful getaway from the hustle & bustle. Is positioned perfectly for nearby walking trails & visits to quaint local villages. The Forest Gypsy tiny home is nestled amongst a beautiful canopy, is very private and has the basic essentials to get you through the day. A fire pit, sauna and nature pool were on offer but we didn't take advantage of these. Stuart was very kind to let us pick fruit from his orchard - the scent of the orange blossoms was divine. Sushi the dog happily greeted us each day, with plenty of cuddles & kisses. Taking in the clean country air, gazing at the night time sky and mingling with the resident fireflies was an absolute pleasure. Stuart was very personable & ensured our stay was most enjoyable :-). We will definitely be back.
