Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows. The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water. There is a toilet and shower downstairs. The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels. We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW. The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo. We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water. Showers need to be short because water supply is limited. In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink. This is pictured in our latest photos. This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth. Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William. Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

The Yeoval Showground Caravan Stopover is located on Yeoval Showground at the end of Warne Street. There is a new amenities block featuring 3 en-suite showers, 2 toilets and a fully equipped disabled en-suite shower. A covered area with seating and a coin operated electric BBQ is available. There is also a fresh water (rainwater) tap on the side of the amenities block for the filling of containers etc.

Rosnay is a pioneering organic farm in the Central West. The Statham family moved to Rosnay in 1996 and began renovating the run down farm using organic and biodynamic methods. They planted the first vines in 1997, and olives in 1999, as well as thousands of native trees, all planted and grown without any chemicals. The exclusive camping area is on the banks of a old farm dam in the middle of the olive grove. There are sheep and alpacas, and plenty of birds and kangaroos living there too. For those who prefer not to sleep out in the elements, we also offer a lovely farmstay guest house by direct booking. Rosnay is proud to be part of Rivers Road Organic Farms, an organic farming community title project.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth. Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William. Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

A beautiful grassy site to camp under the shade of an enormous pine tree. We especially loved walking through the orchards and the easy access to local wineries. The bathroom & laundry facilities were adequate with great water pressure in the shower. We would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Serendipity - a fortunate discovery

We stayed here for two nights and found it to be a convenient spot close to Parkes. It’s a practical place to stay if you’re attending an event in town, as it’s only a short drive away. The view from the site was lovely, and the host was friendly and welcoming. There were a few things that didn’t quite work for us. The toilet had no light, and by the third day of use it seemed to struggle with pumping water and hadn’t been emptied or changed. The site also wasn’t very private. Two children who live on the property visited our van frequently, often bringing their puppy, who barked in our dog’s face without any adult supervision. The kids also rode loud motorbikes around the property quite regularly, which impacted the peacefulness of the stay. Overall, it was a handy two-night base close to Parkes with a nice outlook, but improvements to the amenities and privacy would really enhance the experience.

Very quiet campsite, with toilet and shower facilities. We struggled to find a campsite in the Orange area with facilities that were not a caravan park or Showground. Field Days ticked our boxes, we had the place to our selves, it is close to the wineries and walking in Mt Canobolas. We Will be back.
