My partner and I had a lovely time. Great directions. Would definitely stay again. Loved they had firewood and pits. Only thing that was a turn off for us was the young loud foul mouth disrespectful campers that partied till 130am.

So very happy Shayne & Kim have allowed us the privilege to stay at their absolutely beautiful & lovely property. Even under the grey clouds it was picture perfect. Immaculate camping grounds either on the high ground (with mountain & valley views) mid ground (with mountain & creek views) or low ground beside the crystal-clear creek. All this & yet only 1 1/2 hrs. to Brisbane. This is camping at its best. Nothing better than relaxing beside a beautiful creek with the campfire stocked & beer / wine in hand. Our hosts communications were fantastic giving us great directions. They were very welcoming & accommodating with great stories fit for a belly laugh around the campfire. A must place to visit. Like us you will be back. Thank you, Shayne & Kim, for a great stay & giving us fun take away memories.

The peach farm was amazing, my kids were quite happy to never see another caravan park again they loved all the animals, playground, dam and the amazing outdoor bath. Our host Meg was amazing and the kids got to feed all of the farm animals with her. Highly recommend!!!

A great place for a beautiful relaxing weekend. Host was very friendly and accommodating including opening a different gate to get my large caravan in easily. There are multiple fire pits around the campgrounds for use and not one piece of rubbish in site. Highly recommend if you're looking for space and peace and quiet.

Best and most beautiful Hipcamp we’ve visited so far. We camped right next to the shallow fast running creek. The campsites are big and well maintained with lots of shade and sunny grassed areas. Shayne was a great host and let us know the lay of the land. There are plenty of flat walks and gorgeous scenery with mountains nearby. Our favourite activity was walking through the creek with the dog. Will definitely visit again.

Visiting Natural Bridge was an unforgettable experience — truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The natural rock formation and cascading waterfall create a magical, almost surreal atmosphere. The surrounding rainforest is lush, peaceful, and filled with the sounds of birds and flowing water, making it perfect for a scenic walk or just to take in nature’s beauty. What made the visit even more special were the wonderful hosts. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the area. Their knowledge and kindness added a personal touch that made the experience feel even more memorable. You can tell they truly care about both the land and their guests. Highly recommend to anyone looking to escape into nature and be looked after by lovely people. I can’t wait to return!

We had such a wonderful time at Bindarah Downs and wanted to share our experience! We stayed on the bottom level, right next to the creek on the far left, and honestly—the sound of the creek was pure magic. Even though there were quite a few people around, it was incredibly peaceful. We didn’t hear any noise that disturbed our time there, which made it feel like our own little tranquil hideaway. A quick tip: make sure you’re fully self-contained, whether in a van or camping. Bring plenty of water and firewood if you want to have a fire—it’s definitely one of those places where you’ll want to be well-prepared so you can just relax and enjoy. Shane was a fantastic host—so helpful and welcoming—and we also got to see Kim on our last day. Both were lovely! We can’t recommend Bindarah Downs enough. It’s a peaceful, beautiful spot that’s perfect for disconnecting and making memories.

Bindarah Downs offers easy access to our 4 acres and 3 levels of open and shaded, creek frontage. Only 15 mins from Rathdowney, close to Maroon Dam and several National Parks. Each site accommodates one set-up; e.g. one caravan, one motorhome, one camper trailer etc. Please make a separate booking if you have multiple camping set-ups. The creek offers campers cool waterholes to swim in on a hot day and picnic tables to enjoy your meals. Hang your hammock, lay back and enjoy the tranquil setting and cool breeze while the kids ride their bikes. Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Children 16 and under stay for free but please let us know they are coming. Campfires are welcome but must be kept contained, you can help yourself to any fallen timber on the ground but please do not cut any trees. Pets are welcome but must be kept restrained at night and must not disturb any of the wildlife or livestock. Set on 180acres, stunning views of Mt. Lindesay, Mt. Gillies and surrounding area. The Peach Farm is centrally located within a 20 minute drive to close by attractions. Adventure; 4 wheel drive at Shark Bay. Swim; Iluka's famous beaches. Walk; Iluka Heritage Rainforest, from the lush rainforest to the amazing views at The Bluff. Explore; Yamba, Angourie, the Scottish town of Maclean. Most sites have a picnic table and a fire-pit and you can book a camp oven package in extras. It's fun and nothing beats a camp oven stew! Our community kitchen is a hub for get togethers and yarns, well equipped with a gas cooktop, kettle, cooking utensils, a BBQ, fridge/freezer, and plenty of tables. There are fresh herbs and eggs when in plentiful supply. Please use the worm bin for all your kitchen scraps. We have an amazing composting loo but NO SHOWERS yet. We are pet friendly however we do ask that you have your best friends on a leash AT ALL TIMES and please do not get too close to the alpacas, they are protectors and will become uneasy and distressed. We strongly believe in 'leaving no trace' so please be mindful of our animals, other happy campers and 'take only memories leave only footprints'.

Bungawalbin Wildlife Reserve

In 1987 I moved from Sydney to The Bungawalbin. It was nothing but bush back then but that was the attraction for me. I had been a clerk in the Dept Social Security in Sydney but my dream was to build a homestead and run some cattle. I had no idea what I was in for. I had no building skills and was in no way a handyman. There was no power, except for a couple of car batteries and 3 x 42 watt solar panels. I bought a chainsaw, a generator and a camp oven and 35 years later I am still here. I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey. Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast. 2 years ago the bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover.

(LGBT welcome). PLEASE NOTE: The Hipcamp service fee varies according to the amount of the booking. For one guest for one night the service fee is 18% approx. of the camp site fee. Bookings at Natural Bridge Retreat have to be for a minimum of two nights. As most bookings are for two or more people for two or more nights, the service fee is generally 11.2%. A beautiful creek descends through the 135 acres which includes rainforest that is listed as State significant vegetation. There is a deep swimming hole at the waterfall and other swimming areas up and down the creeks. You can hike to the upper plateaus that feature two ancient Strangler Figs with ocean views and a view of Mt.Warning as well as to the Bushranger Caves and lookouts higher up on the Lamington Plateau. Natural beauty is everywhere you look with mountain views, volcanic boulders and rock formations, Upland Rainforest and lots of wildlife. This is a property for nature lovers. Mobile reception (Telstra works the best), flushing toilets (ladies & gents), hot shower and campfires are permitted in designated locations - sorry no pets.
