2 nights at Wedderburn Hideaway

Loved our stay and will be back. Both Rob & Kaityn were fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. This will be our regular stopover for our trips to Melbourne from Brisbane.

1 night at Warm Corner

Great spot for a night stay to break up our trip home. Would be awesome for a weekend with a group of friends. Great facilities that look brand new and very clean. Loved the use of the fire pit while watching planes fly into Sydney. Only negative is the smell if the wind is blowing the wrong way from the treatment plant next door.

1 night at 'Elouera Vale' Farm

Wayne was very nice and personally led us into the retreat. There were not that many campers and the portaloo was very nice and clean! Happy to stay again and the area was really nice and secluded where we stayed!

We (family of 4) had a great time at Canoelands, our boys loved exploring the orchard and feeding the animals. Fantastic large, level sites. Great location being just an hour from Sydney. We stayed Easter long weekend and had no issues with traffic. Clear skies at night that are great for star Gazing. Jaime and Nathan were very friendly and helpful.. will definitely be back again for a weekend.

Weekend Trip to Warm Corner

Mum and 2 young kids. We had such an awesome Easter weekend camping at warm corner. We were greeted at the property by Lambert who was very accommodating. We were given the option to camp up top or down at the river and we chose the river to afford more privacy. Lambert even came down to help me in the middle of the night to turn the gas on for me which was tightened too much. There was plenty of firewood for us to make a fire. The whole booking process was very smooth, prompt replies and the reviews really do speak to their fabulous service. The amenities were new and very clean, my kids loved the rec room. The air hockey and table tennis where a big hit with the kids, as was the cows, horses and kangaroos. We definitely will be coming back!

Our camping experience was absolutely wonderful! From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully planned to ensure a peaceful and memorable getaway. There are plenty of activities to keep us entertained- fruit picking, animal feeding, hiking... It was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. If you’re looking for a camping experience that’s well-organized, peaceful, and filled with good vibes, I couldn’t recommend this enough.

We had such a great Easter! Huge camp sites, fruit picking, tractor rides, animal feeding. 20min drive to wisemans ferry for some swimming, and 10min drive to "Australia's best pie" (confirmed)! We have camped here twice now, and will defintely be back!

We had an amazing Easter weekend camping at Canoeland Orchard! Jaime was incredibly warm and welcoming. The orchard was a picturesque setting with lots of fruit if you choose to do that as an activity. The kids loved feeding the animals each morning. The campsite was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. We can’t wait to come back!

Overall, it was a great experience for us as newbies to camping. BYO toilet and shower would be ideal as it’s a bit of a walk. Our 2 year old son enjoyed the tractor ride and kept asking for more. Animal feeding was also his favourite. There’s so much to do but still quiet and peaceful at night.

We loved our Easter stay at Canoelands Orchards. The sites are large and well maintained (grass), with a firepit on each site. Firewood can be purchased and delivered to site. There’s a cafe and farm shop onsite open daily. Plus daily fruit picking and animal feeding, there was also tractor rides when we were there! Kids had a ball!! No electricity or water on site. Amenities are basic but clean. The owners are wonderful, kind and responsive. They even fixed my son’s bike when he had a fall, and bought us an ice pack to camp! The sunsets and sunrises amongst the vines were amazing, a great long weekend off grid in nature. Close to wisemans ferry for shops, pub and fishing! Highly recommend, we will be back.

We stayed at Site 6 in the Orchard Campground for 3 nights over the Easter break and had an amazing time! The campsite was spacious with very large plots, giving us plenty of room to set up our gear and still have space to relax and explore. One of the highlights was having the on-site café—perfect for that much-needed morning coffee before starting the day. Our 6-year-old absolutely loved feeding the farm animals and riding in the tractors around the property. There was always something to keep her entertained! The campground has clean toilets and showers, which made the stay really comfortable. And at night, the sky is something else—you can see a blanket of stars and even spot satellites drifting across the sky. It was a peaceful and memorable experience. Being located at Canoelands Orchard, there’s also the chance to pick fresh seasonal fruit, enjoy delicious house-made jams and relishes, and even grab a cider or fresh juice from the farm shop. The friendly staff made us feel welcome, and the relaxed farm atmosphere was a great escape from the city. Highly recommend this spot for families or anyone wanting to unwind in a beautiful, rural setting!

Great place to stay. Unbelievable it’s such close to city but so peaceful and natural. Owner’s three dogs are so friendly and they can even lead you to the toilet! They would even defend for you whenever there is unexpected sound (could be wild rabbit according to owner) somewhere in the dark far away from us at night. The only downside is their defending bark may wake you up at night. But I’m ok with that.

Camp grounds were really well kept and it was nice being near the farm animals. Our kids loved the dogs, and they were great with the kids but we did have to be a little careful when food was around. The facilities were good and it’s a great option to have close by. Hosts were great, and even gave us some food to feed the farm animals with.

We had a wonderful stay at Canoelands Orchard! Beautiful farm with opportunities to feed animals, pick and abundance of fruit and explore the land. We stayed at site 4, which was under powerlines but that didn’t bother us. It was quiet and secluded away from other sites. Amenities are an easy 5 minute walk away. Highly recommend staying at Canoelands Orchard!

Lovely 1 night stay with my 5 and 8 year old. Beautiful scenery, sage for the kids to roam, Wayne was a legend, super friendly, super responsive. Will absolutely come again. And yes, toilets were 11/10.

2 nights at Wedderburn Hideaway

We had such a lovely time during our stay. The dogs welcomed us on arrival and the kids loved feeding Steve the Highland bull. Caitlin went above and beyond to make the first leg of our holiday memorable, even asking my kids if they would like to help give two of the dogs a bath. Hoping to stay here again on our way home. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Very friendly hosts. Great set up in shed for families and/or groups - ensuite, full kitchen, washing machine, adult and kids tables and chairs, and games galore! Hilltop or creekside camp sites on rural acreage. Horses, ducks and kangaroos keeping an eye on you. A wonderful place to spend a couple of nights to get away and relax!

We loved our stay at Canoelands Orchard. Site 3 was huge (even with our big caravan), shady and private. It was lovely being able to pick and consume some fruit while we were there. The kids loved the animals and it was handy having a cafe on site for morning coffee!

'Elouera Vale' Farm

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. Enjoy a pleasant wine tasting experience at Centennial (don’t forget to mention us). Canoelands Valley Camping is an easy-to-access camping area with magnificent views through the National Park Valley. With only two allocated camping/van zones enjoy the privacy and access to walk around the 40 acres. Located 1.15 hrs from Sydney CBD this is an ideal place for a quick weekend getaway for keen hikers, mountain bikers and nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by the Marramarra National Park you have a short drive to access the Canoelands Ridge Trail (17kms), Duckponds Ridge Trail, Marrarra Ridge to Smugglers Point Ridge Trail. We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/bins. 2 Portaloos available or camping toilets. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be on leash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 4 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Two require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. Please mention what car you have when booking. **Now offering access on weekdays but ONLY Site 1 & 2 (weekend access to Sites 1-4)

Canoelands Orchard Camping

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Otford Park nr Royal National Park

Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites. 3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability. We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.
