Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged. What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo. We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water. Showers need to be short because water supply is limited. In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink. This is pictured in our latest photos. This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.

Very quiet campsite, with toilet and shower facilities. We struggled to find a campsite in the Orange area with facilities that were not a caravan park or Showground. Field Days ticked our boxes, we had the place to our selves, it is close to the wineries and walking in Mt Canobolas. We Will be back.

Weekend Trip to Lyndon Hill

Fantastic stay, Sam and her family were very welcoming and helpful right from our arrival with suggestions of activities in the area, all of which were great. We had a tour of their beautiful property including their garden full of fresh produce, we purchased some sourdough and eggs for breaky which was perfect and the cow experience was so good with the Highlands and the beautiful Hereford cows. Nothing was a problem for Sam or her two kids who helped out and ran us through the cow experience and showed our kids around. Would 100% recommend.

It was a magical place. I went there to clear my head and definitely found peace in that wide beautiful camping spot. The views were astounding both sunrise and sunset. Weekend Trip to Watton Airstrip

This is the most magical camping spot! We decided to come here to trial our new tent and have decided this will be our go to camping place. We spent one night, but as we left we all talked about how it had felt like we had been there for days. The horses were am added bonus to our trip, so gentle and inquisitive. Tracey was very hospital and keen to see you had the correct site. Site and amenities were great plus a washing machine. A great campsite with good views. Loved it and definitely would go back again

Marilyn and Peter were wonderful, warm hosts. This campsite is on a beautiful piece of land and we were free to explore our surroundings. Marilyn let us know that we could walk as far as we liked in any direction and there was little chance we would walk far enough to exit the 3000 acre property. The river is beautiful with a little beach for swimming on the other side. The farm is absolutely beautiful with rolling hills and plenty of friendly cows. We had an amazing time exploring the property and the surrounding area.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wattons Airstrip Camping – Hidden Gem! What an amazing spot! From the moment we arrived, owners Damo and Tammie made us feel so welcome — genuinely lovely people, down to earth, who clearly take pride in their property. The campsite itself is peaceful and full of charm — we loved being able to pat the friendly horses and llamas that wander around. The river is absolutely beautiful, perfect for a quiet stroll, fishing, swimming or just relaxing by the water. And I have to say — the best, most imaginative deep drop toilet we’ve ever used while camping! Clean, well set up, and surprisingly pleasant. This camp ground is also great for kids. If you’re after a relaxing stay with great hosts, stunning views, and a touch of farm life, Wattons Airstrip is a must-visit!

1 night at On the Stone River Retreat

What a truly spectacular place to just stop and sit still. Nice big grassy area to set up camp, drop toilet with a 5 star view, the sound of the birds, the gentle river rapids, everything was just magic. Directions were simple and easy to follow and Marje is a warm and wonderful host. Absolutely perfect.

Absolutely amazing little spot, definitely a hidden gem. Campsites where outstanding, perfect distance apart that you didnt feel like you where intrusive on anyone yet had your own private site all to yourself. Friendly animals and outstanding host, Damo & Tammy are full of knowledge and welcome you like part of the family. Will be back and would highly recommend 👌🏼

4 nights at The Orchard

What stood out was location, in amongst orchards and vines, vineyards next door to enjoy, and campsite set up in a wonderful green surrounded by lovely shady trees. Great having power and water available with amenities a short walk from sites. However, the amenities could be cleaner and were in need of attention. Easy drive to all the sites to see and enjoy around and in Orange.
