This property is an off grid retreat with an abundance of wildlife. Our quiet rural retreat is just under 30 acres and has kangaroos, wombats ,possums and echidnas , wallabies and a range of bird life.
Our property is a hobby farm with chickens, vegetable garden and we make condiments and fresh farm eggs to sell , we bake fresh bread on demand.
We are pet friendly but pets must be controlled at all times and not chase the wildlife. We have a off leash area that is fenced where your fury friends can have play dates and run around.
There are 4 large camping sites that must be you must self contained and leave nothing but footprints and great memories. Plenty of room for vans , boats , cars to park at your site . Camp site is a short distance from gate and 2wd can access.
There is a communal fire place and wood is supplied but no collection of firewood. Fire only permitted in fire seasons.

A walk along Killongbutta Road reveals sweeping rural vistas across Wiradjuri Country —a river valley layered with history, including ancient stone quarry sites, corroboree grounds and the resting place of a warrior.
The river itself is alive with platypus, water dragons and rakali (native water rats). Wombats have made their homes in the riverbanks, and you may find yourself sharing the space with these quiet, nocturnal neighbours.

Come and camp on the banks of the Lachlan River just 10kms from Cowra and 27km from Wyangala Dam.
The property is located off the Darby Falls Road in Cudgelo lane just 10mins from the township of Cowra. With 500m of river frontage and only two camp sites privacy is assured. With no amenities these campsites are for the self-sufficient campers only with their own showers/Toilets and drinking water. As this is a working property pets on leash only, as stock could be wandering around meaning all gates that are closed need to remain closed after entry/exit.
Note: There is NO direct access to put boats in the river.

Other things to note
Wyangala Dam and village are nearby with access to watersports, fishing and nature walks. Cowra township is a short 10-minute drive away with a range of shops and facilities.
The river paddock has 500m of river frontage and spans 100 acres so go for a walk or maybe try your luck at fishing by dropping in a line. Wildlife abounds with rabbits, kangaroos and if in luck you could see the resident wombat going for stroll.

Approximately 45 minutes from Orange, 4 hours from Sydney. The region between Molong and Parkes offers scenic views, bush walking, bush camping, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, and 4WD touring. To the northwest lies Goobang National Park that includes Caloma lookout, one of the high points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park.
The area is a bird watchers' paradise - you can often spot birds of prey, such as wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons, soaring across the sky. Black cypress pines, grevilleas, lomandras and heath feature commonly on the landscape. There are many tall grass trees in this area too, some of which are believed to be hundreds of years old.
This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream.
There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was.
Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower.
If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company.
It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal.

Wyangala Dam and village are nearby with access to watersports, fishing and nature walks. Cowra township is a short 10-minute drive away with a range of shops and facilities.
The river paddock has 500m of river frontage and spans 100 acres so go for a walk or maybe try your luck at fishing by dropping in a line. Wildlife abounds with rabbits, kangaroos and if in luck you could see the resident wombat going for stroll.

Approximately 45 minutes from Orange, 4 hours from Sydney. The region between Molong and Parkes offers scenic views, bush walking, bush camping, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, and 4WD touring. To the northwest lies Goobang National Park that includes Caloma lookout, one of the high points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park.
The area is a bird watchers' paradise - you can often spot birds of prey, such as wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons, soaring across the sky. Black cypress pines, grevilleas, lomandras and heath feature commonly on the landscape. There are many tall grass trees in this area too, some of which are believed to be hundreds of years old.
This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream.
There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was.
Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower.
If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company.
It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal.

220 acres of Australian bush land and old farming land being regenerated. Lots of hiking available with grand views from the top of the mountain of Wyangala dam. There is no mobile phone reception so you can be completely off grid and just enjoy the bird filled valley. Other properties still have farm activities in the valley so friendly neighbours happy to help. Balga Rise is being regenerated for eco tourism down the track. The magic is over the back.
You can access Wyangala Dam on foot - but not for launching fishing boats as the crown land is leased and the gate locked to prevent unauthorised camping.

We loved our night here in the bush there is a little Hut where the stove that's all set up for campers and was nice reprive from the rain when it came down late at night gorgeous property and couldn't recommend it more. Anna was also very lovely!

What a beautiful place. Damien and Tammie have created the perfect space for you to make your camping experience your own. Banjos Run is set back from the river with a view over the water, nice flat grassed camping spots, fireplace and shade in the mornings if you set up near the huge gums. The camp sites are set a long way apart so you really have your own space and plenty of it so you're not camped on top of other people. The toilet is clean and only a short walk. The river easily accessible. Given how dry and hot it's been the area was well grassed and the friendly horses seemed content grazing. We met Damien and Tammie on arrival and during our stay and they are perfect hosts. The track down is 4x4 - my stock Patrol did it easily. I would expect anyone with any 4x4 experience wouldn't even baulk at it. We enjoyed a campfire, a little swimming and fishing. We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

We had the most amazing stay at Watton Airstrip! The property is absolutely beautiful, stunning river views, peaceful surrounds, and even though we accidentally booked during the Bathurst 12 Hour race weekend (when the property was fully booked), there was still so much space between campsites. It genuinely felt like we had our own private little slice of paradise on the river.
We didn’t realise the track in was a proper 4WD track, but Damien gave us great advice and tips before we headed down. On the way out, we thought we’d done a wheel bearing on our caravan and Tammie and Damien went above and beyond. They had us park up at their house, jacked the van up, and helped us check it over.
Absolutely stunning land, super friendly and helpful hosts, and just an all-round fantastic experience. We’re already talking about planning our next trip back! Highly recommend!!

Our second time staying but our first time down by the river. The Rapids is a lovely spot, but note that it is one of the furthest from the very cute toilet, but we would still certainly recommend it. The road down is definitely 4WD only. We have a newish VW campervan set up for off-road and managed it okay, but it is rocky so you need to pick your line. We can also recommend the homemade bread delivered to our door! Loved the ambience of the roaming horses and kangaroos.

Expect to be impressed, You can see the effort that Damien and Tammie have poured into the property, really well maintained, while remaining natural, sites have been selected with campers in mind, we arrived to a warm and friendly greeting, and everything we needed to to know to get to the site. Super helpful, fun track in, and out, a little more challenging after a night of rain, but still totally manageable, loved it, we will be back often.

The drive down and back out is a bit hairy if you have a small SUV and are not much of a 4WD-er (like me) but it was worth it to enjoy the river frontage. I visited during the week when there were very few people around, very serene and still enough water in the mighty Wambuul (Macquarie) for a swim even after a dry spell.

Watton Airstrip is a great spot off the beaten track. With several campsites along the river with plenty of space in between each.. It was 37-41 when we were there, but we were easily able to escape the heat amongst the trees and in the water at the Nook. Great swimming and paddling at The Nook and the Deep Spot. We'd love to visit after lots of rain and see the river run higher and faster.
We loved sharing the space with a miriad of animals, alpacas, horses, lizards and dragons, roos and Wallabies, dear over the river and we even spotted several platypus!
Watch out for those cheeky horses though. They're always up for a treat of whatever they can steal. Keep your food secure or they be back for more. Spare ratchet straps are good fencing around your camp. Enjoy!

Fiona and John were lovely hosts and greeted us warmly on arrival. We have a large caravan and were a little nervous getting it through the gates, but by taking our time it was no problem at all.
The site itself is a bit hilly and not completely flat, so we did need to get the stabiliser legs out and level the van. Aside from that, it was very quiet with no light pollution, giving us an amazing view of the stars. There were plenty of kangaroos around, which the kids absolutely loved.
Overall, a really pleasant stay and a great spot to relax and enjoy nature.

We had a most enjoyable long weekend at this site. The weather was stinking hot, so we spent a lot of time in the lovely river, kayaking and swimming. Didn't see a platypus, but we think we heard him a couple of times. We did see plenty of goats, ducks, kangaroos and emus. Lee and Adrian are very friendly and helpful. We spent a long time chatting to them on checkout. Thoroughly recommend Rockytop.

We loved the Platypus Patch, very quiet and private, and had a whole stretch of river to ourselves. It was a bit tricky getting into the water, but we managed it, ok with kayaks.
