There is no mobile phone reception so you can be completely off grid and just enjoy the bird filled valley. Other properties still have farm activities in the valley so friendly neighbours happy to help. Balga Rise is being regenerated for eco tourism down the track. The magic is over the back.
You can access Wyangala Dam on foot - but not for launching fishing boats as the crown land is leased and the gate locked to prevent unauthorised camping.220 acres of Australian bush land and old farming land being regenerated. Camp on the mown grass at the front valley and utilise the built in fire pit, and shade of the verandah on the shed. The shed itself is not available as it is our personal holiday accommodation.
BYO water for all purposes. The long drop is available for human waste.
Sit under the trees or hike the mountain to discover the real magic of the property. The views from the top, the 100 plus year old grass trees, the giant boulders to climb or observe the wild goats.
Thistles in summer require proper boots and as with all Australian properties, please keep an eye out for snakes.
The property name Balga Rise is made up of the aboriginal name for the grass trees "Balga" and the large climb "rise" to get to the back three quarters of the property.
