Levenvale Farm in Bellingen

9 sites · RVs, Tents500 acres · Valery, NSW
We are farmers, living the dream on 500 acres in beautiful Bellingen. Our farm is called Levenvale Farm. You will feel a million miles away, yet we are only 7mins into the town of Bellingen. We run an organic cattle property and have found a few spots around our farm to share with campers and glampers. Our campsites are "Beyond the Bridge" & "Old Flat Camp". Both are on cattle paddocks and have private access to Hydes Creek. Hydes Creek is a murky sandy base creek. There's lots of logs so its not recommend to jump in, but it's beautiful to cool off in the creek on a hot day. Both campsites have access to our compost toilet, and outdoor camping shower (canvas bag on a rope). Take your own water for a wash off. If you prefer a bit more comfort or don't have your own camping gear, you can escape the hustle and enjoy being perched up on one of the highest points on the farm (with incredible views), in our Bell Tent or Hut. Both the Hut and the Tent are furnished with beds & linen but have no power. Both have access to a Drop Loo and a solar powered outdoor Shower (with 1000L tank and gas hot water). At all our sites, we welcome you to have a small fire, and cook up a BBQ. We sell our organic beef sausages or steaks to campers and happy to have them defrosted for arrival. All of our listings offer spectacular sunrises, sunsets over the mountains and wanderings through lush rainforest. Experience all the adventures of Levenvale Farm and reconnect with nature.

Waterfalls & More

11 sites · RVs, Tents104 acres · Sherwood, NSW
HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. In the next valley there's even gold to be found. Explore trails by mountain bike. Whale watch. Surf. Learn SCUBA. Go beach-combing. Catch a mudcrab. Go whitewater river rafting. Ask your host about where to find all the local waterfalls, the best walking, how to find gold, the gnarliest off-road tracks, Anything is possible here in this magnificent part of the world, except perhaps snow and ice.

Gundarang Billabong

2 sites · RVs, Tents550 acres · Nana Glen, NSW
Bordered by Wild Cattle Creek State Forest and neighbouring grazing properties, our farm is quite remote and secluded. We are located on the Eastern Dorrigo Plateau between Coffs Harbour and Dorrigo off the MR 120, a beautiful (windy) scenic drive. On the way to us, you will drive through the historic timber villages of Ulong and Timmsvale into the Wild Cattle Creek State Forest via a well graded gravel forestry road, to reach our gate, where we will meet you and guide you to your camp site. We are a working cattle property and run a big mob of mostly Angus cattle and practice Regenerative Agriculture. We are regenerating country that was clear felled in the mid 1800s and over grazed, into a thriving, future-proof farm for our 4 children and 2 grand children. Many trees are to be planted using the principles of Syntropic Agroforestry. The Little Nymboida River runs through the property and is home to the Muluny. (Gumbaynggirr for platypus) You may also encounter wallabies, bandicoots, cockatoos, goannas, snakes, eagles and a wide variety of bird and insect life. There are some glorious rapids and swimming holes for a dip or paddle (BYO kayak or float) but generally the river is shallow so perfect for kids to explore. We have 15 acres of regenerating bush that has walking tracks, perfect for forest bathing and getting back to nature in a completely safe way. The boundary is fenced so you cant get lost! The 100 acre side of the farm where you are camped, also has tracks to explore. We have a dedicated wildlife reserve on an adjacent hill and from there you may spot a Muluny in the deep corner bend, if you are really quiet. Homes can be seen in the distance but you really will have the feeling of being a million miles away from civilisation. Close by there is the opportunity to go waterfall chasing, swimming, kayaking, 4WDing, forest driving, bush walking or visit the small villages of Ulong and Lowanna for a meal or essential supplies and check out the historic Railway stations.
