4 nights at Petaurus Gardens

Great campsite and great hosts. The best camp shower and toilet I have experienced and the raised deck for our tent kept us out of the mud and moisture. We didn’t meet Dianne but her family were very accommodating, providing mozzie zappers and citronella lanterns to place around the site and extra firewood. Being there after a big wet, the mozzies and pot holes along the dirt access road made it a little challenging but being prepared for this would make all the difference. It was also a bit further out from Evan’s head/Yamba etc. than the listing described. Thank you guys for a great camp, if we’re up in Northern NSW again we will be back!

4 nights at Macallon Farm Stay

We recently stayed at the Creek flat Tucked Away site at Macallon Farm Stay for 4 nights. The Host Michelle & her family were extremely accommodating. The kids had an absolute blast playing in the creek, they loved all the animals and the farm tour our whole family enjoyed. Michelle is a superwoman! She even helped me arrange a birthday cake for my husband which was soooo yummy and much appreciated. Showering under the stars was beautiful! The farm is so clean and tidy. Toilets close by and if you need anything you can just ask and they will help you. There was a coffee van because it was Easter weekend and it was dam good coffee!! Great family, our kids are begging to go back. Thank you again.

1 night at Petaurus Gardens

We had such a lovely stay at this camp site the setting was peaceful and beautiful. The facilities were great even had hot water and the tents were amazing. The host really made it stand out. We had a run of bad luck with our car, and he went absolutely above and beyond to help us out. From offering advice to physically helping us sort things out, he was incredibly kind and generous with his time. Highly recommend staying here, not just for the gorgeous setup and great facilities but for the amazing hospitality. Thank you again!

Weekend Trip to Macallon Farm Stay

We loved camping here! It was our first time camping with our toddler. We camp in a tent, we set up by "The Lagoon", a lovely area next to the Alpacas where we watch them swimming to cool off. We stayed for two nights slept well the first but some geese came on the second night and honked all night so we didn't get as much sleep but that can't be helped! All in all we will be back in the future.

Booked two of the glamping tents to camp with a friend and our kids. Host was very helpful and attentive, setting us up with a fire and free insect repellent. This place was more established than I expected. Didn't get a chance to do any of the activities (kayaking, mountain biking etc) but had a really great time nonetheless. Great price as well 😊

Weekend Trip to Hilltop Farm, Camping and Glamping.

Could not recommend this camp enough! We decided to treat ourselves to a bit of a glamping experience for Easter and this spot was an absolute gem. The dam was perfect for our two water obsessed border collies & we loved paddling around it on our paddle boards. The set up was fantastic very quiet & private, you really don’t need to pack anything but food! Facilities were very clean & practical. The view by the fire pit was perfect to sit & watch the sun go down & there’s lots to do & see in & around crows nest. Highly, Highly recommend!!

Michelle’s place was lovely. The animals are free to wander around the camp. The portaloos were clean and well maintained throughout the stay. Shower had hot water and was nice and clean. We went at Easter and was still plenty of space and it didn’t feel too crowded. There were loads of activities for the kids and the animal feeding was a highlight for them. Would recommend.

Michelle has set up some beautiful spots to camp on her property. Camp one and two were close to portaloo's. Michelle and her children are friendly and accommodating and put in so much to ensure the stay is smooth. Our kids loved the animal tours. Clean amenities- especially love the outdoor shower! (Sound of the trains passing by is faint)

This place was awesome! Amenities were fantastic and the platform to camp on was an absolute life saver given it rained every night. The hosts were very generous and had some spare Mozzie coils and zappers for us to borrow which was greatly appreciated. Bring your gumboots and bug spray! We would happily come back here.

3 nights at Macallon Farm Stay

Macallon farmstay blew our expectations! Not only was the camping area easily accessible, clear, flat and close to amenities but a running creek flowed through the property to listen to day and night. We were welcomed so warmly and authentically onto their farm and Michelle ensured we had everything we needed. Her tribe of boys welcomed my 2 young boys into the 'boy club' and showed them the ropes of how to be a 'farm boy'. From having access to inclusive, unlimited use of farm provided kayaks to explore their creek, to ample firewood supplied for our camp-fire memories, to up close and intimate feeding experiences- especially with the alpaccas (my favourite) and not to mention riding the very cool farm train created by Michelle to get us around. A thrill for all! A favourite of mine was the outdoor shower built in rustic farm style. Where else can you have an outdoor hot shower looking at the star-filled sky above? We created such beautiful memories that we will cherish in our hearts. Thank you for your beautiful hospitality from our family to yours. We hope to be back again soon and everyone I speak with has been hearing about this beautiful place and planning their visit too.

Beautiful spot! We had the place to ourselves. Hosts friendly and helpful getting us in and out of the site. Some basic facilities, one toilet & shower and a camp kitchen area with a BBQ, though we didn't need to use.

We spent four days here and throughly enjoyed every minute! The views were spectacular and the sunsets were amazing, it was definitely worth the trip to get here. The site was very well presented and plenty of room for our 15ft caravan, it was lovely to meet Chip the Shetland pony, Ollie the dog and of course the hosts Leacia and Phill who were very obliging, friendly and welcoming ! A lovely part of the world THANK YOU for a wonderful stay 10/10 😊

4 nights at Bimbimbi River Camp

How’s the serenity! Stayed at The Fishing Hole and the fish were jumping (pity I left my rod on the toolbox at home). The sites are spread so far apart you really struggle to see other campers. The Fishing Hole has a large pebbled riverfront area with a small “kiddy pool” that flows over larger stones to create a spa for the adults. It’s a very, very large site with mown grass and fire pit with plenty of kindling on the ground. Composting loo is great. Pete (doggo) loves swimming and was living his best life while I kipped in the sun. Ian (host) was awesome. Thank you so much for the offer of canoeing and he’ll also tell you exactly where to fish. Access to The Fishing Hole is as described on the page; if you haven’t got a high clearance vehicle/van think about choosing another site. Would I recommend Bimbimbi to my best friends and workmates? Absolutely!

Serendipity - a fortunate discovery

We are situated 10km out of Parkes which is home to the famous Dish and the annual Elvis Festival. Set on a gentle slope, it boasts picturesque views of the surrounding farmland, tranquil dams and lush native vegetation. Guests are offered access to stroll around our 18acre property by foot only. Vehicles are to be kept at the camp site however. Pets are allowed but must be on leash at all times. We do have a dog, chooks and guinea fowls and the nature of the property abundant wildlife may be present. This 3000 acre property is located close to Nimmitabel and not too far from Cooma. Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife. Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding, water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding and one of Australia's beautiful but lesser known native rodents, Rakali (intelligent semi aquatic water rat who's scientific name translates to golden -bellied water mouse). One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.

BAJIMBA Eco Camping and Farm Stay

Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield. Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm. Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes. When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay! Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Deepdene Farmstay is a beautiful rural property with a fabulous view! We have a number of unpowered camp sites located approximately 5 minutes drive from Augusta, which offers a number of tourist attractions and great fishing spots. We are also located a short 800m from Jewel Cave, which is a very popular tourist attraction and café. Our campsites overlook paddocks of cows and horses, with a lovely breeze and a number of large trees to offer shade in the summer, while being protected from the harsh winds in winter. If you are pretty much self contained and would like to camp out away from the hustle and bustle, in a tranquil and peaceful setting...then this is for you. However, if you like life's luxuries, then this won't be your cup of tea. One of the reviews said nice but a bit wild, I think they must be used to caravan parks or something. We try our best to fit in with the environment, so we have a couple of compost toilets and solar showers (for private not public use, for more info on this, please enquire ) and compost and recycling bins to try and do our bit. Dogs are permitted but this is a working farm with livestock so uncontrolled dogs chasing wildlife or stock which cant be controlled will be dealt with as needed including euthanised. If its hard to control don't bring it please!

I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent. Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please BYO firewood. Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit. Children 16 & under stay for free. Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

We have several peaceful campsites available on our off grid property near Crows Nest. Also a private glamping site with a 5m Bell Tent - with everything you need for a relaxing night away. We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. Enjoy the spring fed dam in the warmer months. 🏊‍♂️ There is plenty to explore in the area, including: 🏞 Crows Nest Falls National Park (good for a swim) 🐃 Bullocky's Rest and creekside walk in Crows Nest (dog friendly) ☕️ Lovely cafes in Crows Nest (eg. Lily's Artisan and My Little Blueberry), as well as boutique stores (Nolan's Block is very popular, on the highway). Relaxing by the creek, or take in the great views from the top of the hill, each site has many things to offer. This will be the holiday the kids will want to come back to. Just 17km to the nearest supermarkets, 11 km to fuel and bottleshop for last minute supplies. Amenities include: Flushing Portable toilets just a short walk from your camp. Attractions close by. * Gympie's Historical Steam train " The Mary Valley Rattler" does trips on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays. * Historical Theebine Hotel is just 22km away and does a great meal. * Dickabram Bridge is 25km away. It is the oldest remaining large steel truss bridge constructed in Queensland. Or just take a quiet stroll observing the sights and sounds of the natural wildlife. I purchased the farm in 2015 with my children to build a dream, a lifestyle I'm passionate about, one I could share with my family.
