We are pet friendly for well behaved dogs! We have a strict on-leash policy at all times and if your dog is off leash you might be asked to leave.
Respect all our animals at all times. We have zero tolerance for disrespect for our farm animals.
This includes off leash dogs and allowing your dog to go too close to the farm animals especially the Alpacas.
Please leave no trace. Take all waste away with you, during your stay and when you leave.
Be considerate of other visitors.
Feel free to use the fire pits provided by the farm. You can purchase excellent firewood from the staff or bring your own. The scattered branches on the farm can be picked up and used at will.

Located on a sealed road, on 220 acres of land, approximately 5-6 minutes to Sutton or Gundaroo, 10 minutes to Gunghalin and 20 minutes into Canberra. The site is very quiet and private. Sutton village (5 kms away) has a toilet block and shower amenities available.
A beautiful quiet location to stay. Close to a lot of amenities, such as Bakery, Wineries, Gundaroo, Mulligan's Flat Reserve and Gunghalin shops.
Sutton has a world class bakery, we recommend chicken and leek or pepper steak pies. Gundaroo has an old world pub with local wines and food. The old police station at Gundaroo has been converted to a gourmet pizza restaurant, there is also an excellent restaurant named Grazing. There is also Eagle Hawke pub, which is very popular. There are numerous wineries nearby including Gundog at Gundaroo and all of the many Murrumbateman wineries.
Water refill and waste disposal is available at Queanbeyan showground.
The Mulligans Flat Reserve, about 10 minutes away, is a real first in Australia, given that a very large area has been set aside near Canberra to foster wildlife. A walk through the reserve is well worth while. Check it out.

Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family.
Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990.
Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food.
If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season.
With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs.
This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow.
The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock.
There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower.
Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use.
We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses.

With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities.
There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood.
There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles.
The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922.

Our property is just 25 minutes from Canberra City but feels a world away, and offers a peaceful country paradise and wide open spaces.
We have several sites for 100% self-contained campers, where you'll be spoilt with

views of the Tinderry Mountains, access to undulating walking trails,

An Angora goat and slashed tracks to access the beautiful 130 acres around the farm.
The small village of Michelago is 5km from our property, has the fuel servo and a terrific General Store, which serves great burgers and milkshakes plus much more. 20mins to the town of Bredbo with its own pub is great for counter lunches and dinners.
The Town of Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy mountains is a 40 min drive south.
Also if you want to go camping with friends and introduce them to the great outdoors and they don’t have the gear ask about our hire service of all things needed to have a great camp, some are listed but more is always available to hire, just send me a message.

Janice was very responsive to questions we had when first arriving, and very accommodating in allowing us to swap sites to another available one that we preferred upon looking. The sites all looked level but they are very close to each other, so if there had been campers on the adjacent site or campers on all five sites, it would have felt crowded and way less peaceful - only mentioning this as it wasn't apparent from the photos on the listing (at least from my interpretation). Fortunately this wasn't the case! I would stay on site 2 in future and recommend this as the best in Canberra weather with plentiful sun, nice level spot. But 5 was nice and tucked away amongst the trees, so if the other sites are occupied, this one would be great for privacy. My toddler had lots of fun exploring. It was easy access with just one gate; and the signs pointing the direction to site were so useful (everyone should have these so people can be certain they are headed in the right direction)! Recommend having Starlink as phone reception can be a bit limited unless you walk around, so just be aware of that and you'll have a great time. So handy to have a HipCamp with such close proximity to Canberra and we appreciated the peace and quiet of not having to stay in a caravan park or within the city. Thank you for having us and hope you'll have us back when we next visit family in the area!

We stayed for 6 nights to explore Canberra and surrounding area. Nice quiet farm to camp. Sites 4 and 5 can either have sun or shade, the others were pretty much amongst the trees which may struggle if you are relying on solar panels on your roof. We camped with another couple and felt the area was big enough to be creative about where to place our camps.
Great experience. Would come back here if we were in the area again. Canberra has so much to see!

Our first time taking out our camp trailer, the large flat grassed area was great for us to ‘figure out’ we had no tent pegs 😂 a short trip to Anaconda later and we were all set. Loved the ability to have a camp fire and take our dogs. The kids loved the little ponies next door.

Fantastic farm stay. Nice and close to Canberra. We only stayed one night but would stay longer next time. Great, clear directions from Janice. Very easy to find our site and settle in.

I stayed only for a day to brake the journey … I was the only Caravan so it was calm and quite… it’s good if you are visiting Canberra as it is a short drive to the shops … probably not for a longer stay .. but it was good for my purpose…

Convenient for visiting Canberra and not too far from the main road to Yass but lovely and quiet. Each site is marked with a small number on a tree to give you some guidance as to where to pull up. All sites looked fairly level.

Flat site, quiet and we were the only ones there but felt safe. Didn't see the host which was new for us.
Easy to find, good location not too far from the highway or Canberra. Shops 10-15 minutes away. No close potable water to fill caravan tanks so plan ahead and stop in Queanbeyan or elsewhere. We'd likely stay here again if passing through!

A bit of rain & the dam & grass would come up a treat, it was peaceful & onily 1 other camper on the last night.
