Ray Roberts Lake State Park
Replenished by the Trinity River, this park boasts a trail from Ray Roberts dam to Lake Lewisville.
Think you can set a new lake record for largemouth bass? It's currently set at whopping 14.07 pounds! Not an angler? The 29,000-acre Roberts Lake has plenty of room for lots of other activities such as paddle boarding, fishing, and boating.
Great for land lovers as well, the 20-mile multi-use Greenbelt Corridor starts at the Ray Roberts dam and travels along the Elm Fork branch of the Trinity River. By the time you reach its end at Lake Lewisville, you have the chance to enjoy some great biking, hiking, and horseback riding too.
As the day comes to a close, you can settle in at a host of both fully developed an undeveloped campsites. Lake Ray Roberts Marina is for houseboats, and the Lone Star Lodge is here for you if you don't want any parts of the "roughing it" experience at all. Whatever you choose, you just have to

The Ray Roberts State Park Johnson Branch Unit Campgrounds can actually be broken down into five separate camping areas. These loops are Juniper Cove, Walnut, Oak Point, Dogwood Canyon and Willow Cove.
