Pfanny's Farm

4 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs11 acres ¡ Randolph, NE
Please note: although we are not able to mark them off on the calendar, we do not do Sunday check-ins. If you check in on an earlier date, however, you are welcome to stay thru Sundays :) Welcome to Pfanny's Farm-we love sharing our little slice of heaven with our visitors :) A love for gardening and providing healthy home-grown fruits and vegetables for our family has supplied us with an abundance of produce for over 35 years. We have canned, dehydrated and frozen the excess but the kids have flown the coop and we have expanded our operations in order to provide our patrons with that same grown-with-love nourishment! Our geo-thermal greenhouse and 2 high-tunnels are the main attractions of our farm...we raise citrus in Nebraska! And now we are also delving into agritourism by allowing overnight visitors to stay and experience life on the farm. Tours are available for a fee-don't miss out on this experience :) A children's "trail-tale" can be enjoyed during a walk on our 1/2 mile trail. The trail is partially lined with a children's story and antique machinery for your viewing pleasure. The "binzebo" area, equipped with picnic tables and a nearby firepit is always a big hit. Enjoy a game of horseshoes or cornhole while waiting to watch a beautiful sunset, followed by a night sky that is unhindered by light pollution. The view of the Milky Way is fantastic! These are shared areas, so you might see us and our other visitors out there-join in and make some friends! We do have a very friendly dog-his name is Beau. He is known to hang out with our guests and beg for belly rubs :) Our chickens are occasionally free-range, so we require that your pets be on leash.

Overview

About

Friends, family, children, and grandparents, gather here at Chief White Crane Recreation Area and look to the sky. Why, you ask? Because you’ll probably see a bald eagle! While you’re watching out for those majestic wings, take advantage of the incredible beauty and recreation of this park. Namely, the camping, biking, canoeing, fishing, and hiking. Being conveniently located alongside Yankton, Lewis and Clark Recreation Area, Gavins Point Dam, and Pierson Ranch, roosting in one of these cozy campsites or cabins gives you great and easy access to much of the wilderness of southeastern South Dakota. If you come between November and March, vehicle traffic will be prohibited in the park because of bald eagle nesting. Tread lightly, stay alert, and you just may spot one!

When to go

The ideal time to visit Chief White Crane Recreation Area is during the warm summer months, from May to September, when the park is in full bloom and the river's gentle flow beckons. Winter can be harsh, with the park often blanketed in snow, making some activities less accessible.
