Looking for adventure in eastern Missouri? For something a little bit more off the beaten path, Onondaga Cave State Park has got you covered. Just over an hour away from St. Louis, this is the perfect escape whether you’re looking for a quick day trip away from the big city or a week-long camping vacation. The Meramec River runs right through the park and the Vilander Bluffs give incredible views, but it’s underneath the surface that’s the most spectacular—Onondaga is home to a fascinating network of caves hiding just below the park. You’ll no doubt marvel at the incredible cave formations, which include stalactites, stalagmites, and underwater pools. This is a seriously stellar way to enjoy some of Missouri’s most stunning natural beauty.
