Not exactly coastal, but you will have panoramic views from the tops of many of the rugged mountains in Donnell Pond Public Reserved Land. This wilderness provides a mix of habitats, perfect for woodland wildlife, anglers, paddlers, and adventurous hikers. Four seasons of recreation make it easy to get away, no matter the forecast. In the spring, don your heavy-duty bug repellent, and take advantage of the prime fishing in the mountain ponds, streams, and lakes. Get your hiking on in the summer, on miles of well-marked and maintained trails. Fall brings the leaf-peepers and the photographers from all over the world, hoping to capture the allure of those incredible colors. Then, of course, comes winter. Maybe the best time of all to get lost in the Maine woods. Strap on your snowshoes or skis and hit the trails for quiet like you’ve never experienced in the modern world.
