This was a lovely camping spot, quiet, secluded near a cute town with good food and great public library. Very clean and well kept and the offering of the kayaks and gentle river is great if you are traveling with toddlers!

Remote and quiet small campground

New Riverside Van site
Shawn was a responsive and friendly host. He was in contact before we left and kept an eye out for us to ensure we found the place when we arrived. Unfortunately the site was too small for our camper van. The van did fit in the site but left only a few feet to skirt it otherwise. The outhouse was very nice and tidy. We were on the van site, but site 3 looked nice with a parking spot and tent platform and would be a good choice for a tent camping trip. Water was low on the river as it’s been super dry. We only stayed one night and moved on early, as our plans are flexible. Spot was remote and quiet.

super serene and quiet…. i was the only one there and the host was super accomidating. the kayaks for open use was a super kind gesture and i enjoyed them very much… the campsites were easy to pull up to and fire pits and firewood easily accessible. had a great time and felt very safe at the campsite! would reccomend!

Lovely, peaceful spot. I arrived at dusk and jumped in a kayak for a sunset paddle on serene waters. Later made a campfire with wood provided. Woods were quiet. Met a nice person at a neighboring site who helped me out with a tricky parking situation. In the morning, Nan gave me some tips about local beaches/hikes/markets.

Shawn & Nan's property was the perfect place to land after a day of hiking and exploring at Acadia park! I arrived in the evening & the picnic table and fire pit were great to have for making a late dinner. I woke up & brought my breakfast over to the shared area by the river to enjoy the beautiful views. It was so relaxing & there were already two nice chairs set up by the little dock. The camp sites are along the same short road, but site #3 was set apart & I felt very safe with plenty of privacy.
Pay attention to the directions to the site, as I passed the sign for the camp & went much further than I should have. This was definitely my own oversight, so just a helpful tip for others.
Thanks Shawn and Nan for sharing your land and being so helpful during my stay!

Overall we had a great experience. Nan and Shawn are extremely nice. We had a quiet and peaceful sleep. The outhouse was extremely clean and well stocked with TP, hand sanitizer, night light etc.
However, the sites are small and will not accommodate a larger vehicle, like a camper van. Nan said they know it's an issue and have plans to make the sites a little larger.

Wow! What a fantastic stay. The campsite was set up so perfectly, and I was surprised with all of the wonderful amenities. There was campwood, a trashcan, and they even had a grill in the community area! The kayaking was accessible and lovely. I would absolutely stay again or recommend the space to friends or family.

This was our first experience with Hipcamp and we loved it! Shawn & Nan were great hosts.. The directions and signage from the road was helpful. The site was clean and ready for us with firewood, tent platform and picnic table. The toilets were clean and well stocked. We loved the free use of the kayaks! Stargazing was also amazing at the site.

Beautiful wooded spot with great walking (and easy driving) on well maintained gravel road. Very easy to find and felt safe. The outhouses were very clean and maintained throughout the visit. Would happily return!

Such a great campsite!! Clean outhouses, fire pit with some wood to start you off, kayaks and grill if you’d like to use but still feels nice and remote. Would 100% stay here again!!

Super amazing remote camp site! Highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to be in woods! And away from the city life! Planning to go back again soon! Lots of wild life, we got to see a pileated woodpecker! Was only 30 feet from tent!

We really enjoyed our time here! Stayed at site 3 which was the largest of the three sites and conveniently it is the site that’s closest to the outhouses. Speaking of, both outhouses were clean and very well taken care of. The site has a nice picnic table, fire pit with provided supplies, trash can, a seemingly new tent deck which was nice but we did not need because we slept in our car set up. If you’re also a car camper site 3 is your best option because it’s the most spacious. They provide kayaks and life vests and kayaking down the river where we read and fished was the highlight of our time there. The hosts were not needed but were very kind and responsive. The sites are also marked well so everything is easy to find. If you’re looking for a fun and quiet stay near Acadia area this is the spot to go.

This is a lovely wooded property newly developed into some tent sites. The availability of Kayaks with paddles is really lovely aspect even though I didn't get a chance to explore it! Sean was incredibly hopeful when I asked him for ideas for writing my bike and other sorts of things. The site was private and quiet and really peaceful and I enjoyed my stay immensely!

Small, quiet, clean campground with nice amenities including tent platforms, fire pit, wood, toilet, etc. The road in is a little rough going in, but worth it for the peaceful setting near Schoodic.

Had such an amazing & peaceful 2 days at campsite #1! My best friend and I had so much fun hanging out by the fire & winding down, there was fire starter provided as well as some scrap wood which was a huge plus! Acadia is not a far drive from the site either, would recommend if you want something relatively close to the park :)

We loved our stay at this campsite. It was secluded and quiet. The site is about an hour away from Acadia and 30 minutes from schoodic Peninsula. We had a great stay!

The site is lovely, surrounded by lush green trees and right next to the river. Some campsites are within view of each other but far enough away that you have some privacy. We loved that there were kayaks provided along with life vests and noodles. The outhouses were clean and just up the path. The host also provides kindling, firewood, and a bucket to get water for extinguishing.
