Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. The Eagles' Nest Treehouse (mentioned above) is very isolated and you may or may not even be aware that there are other people within miles of you. For those who value nature, seclusion, quiet and the artistry of old growth redwood, this is the place for you.

The Eagle's Nest Treehouse offers a secluded and tranquil experience in the middle of a private forest. On some nights, you can see all the stars since the lights of civilization are so far away. And when the wind blows a certain way, you can hear distant fog horns and waves crashing on the spectacular Sonoma coast. Located on a 400-acre working ranch, we are near San Francisco, California's premier wine-growing regions and some of California's most breathtaking seascapes. During the day, you can hike our miles of forest trails and never run into another person. You can check out the flora and fauna residing among the ferns, redwood trees and rolling pasture lands and then roast some of our ranch products, all grown right here, over the barbecue located at ground level. You can also explore the ranch operation, which includes Scottish Highland cattle, goats, ducks, geese and the livestock guardian dogs who protect them all. If you like a really hands-on experience, you can help us herd the ducks in at night or come along in the UTV to help with evening chores.  Think seclusion, privacy, peacefulness and nature.  Securely nestled high above the forest floor between two towering Douglas Firs, the large redwood deck of the Eagle’s Nest is accessed via a spiral staircase and a 40 ft suspension bridge. Once inside, the rich grain of the old growth redwood floor, walls and ceiling is astounding. Residential standards of construction throughout include two sets of 8 ft high French doors, sliding windows, a queen size bed, electricity for lights, separate bathroom, hot and cold water, sink, and an amazing copper-lined shower with floor to ceiling windows looking out on the forest below. A heater and the insulated walls, floor and ceiling keep the interior cozy. Note if you have extra people above the 2 it is designed for, plan on paying the extra person fee for each whether adult or child, and providing somewhere for them to sleep, either on the floor, a tent or bed outside on the deck, or in the picnic spot on the ground.

We had such a wonderful stay at Salmon Creek Ranch and already know we’ll be coming back! We stayed at Redwood #2, and the meadow was absolutely gorgeous; incredibly spacious, peaceful, and beautiful. There was also a really cute, tucked-away spot underneathh the redwood trees that was perfect for two of our tents. Waking up in the morning with the fog rolling in from the nearby ocean was honestly magical. We were also pleasantly surprised by howe few bugs there were. We only noticed a few tiny gnats/flies that occasionally tried to get into our tents, but otherwise, there were hardly any bugs throughout the day. There’s a small creek nearby and a short hiking trail where you can wander around and explore the property, which made the experience feel even more special. Most of all, our hosts, John and Lesley, were amazing. They were so welcoming, kind, and responsive throughout our stay, and we really appreciated how easy and comfortable they made everything. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place to spend the night in nature. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Great for a weekend trip. It's on a back road on the other end of the ranch so it's secluded with lots of trees. There is a porta potty, the people at camp site 1 seemed to brought their own so we basically had it to ourselves and it was very clean. The creek is crossable without touching the water if you are nimble enough. On the other side there are lots of trails going through the hills and forests. The mercantile was cool, had meat and firewood and more you could just grab and leave money for. Even though campsite 1 was right beside us, the trees in between made it private still. I'd stay here again although the redwood campsites sit a little deeper into the forest and feel more spaced out.

I can't say enough about how much we love this campsite! Its our 4th trip here and we will continue to come back and bring our friends. All sites are gorgeous and surrounded by nature. There's a picnic table and fire pit and a porta potty. And we love how big campsite #3 is, and private.

Really great experience camping here! Very quiet and very little to no bugs during our Labor Day weekend stay. The wooden deck on Campsite #3 was very convenient and fit our two tents perfectly. Very short walk to the portapotty and that was also stocked with toilet paper. Would recommend pre-paying for supplies before arriving. The bundle of wood was less expensive when I prepaid before arriving. $15 prepaid online vs. $20 in-person. But that’s understandable since they take time to prepare the wood on the spot vs in advance. The grill on the fire ring and a picnic bench were also another nice touch to the campsite. Would definitely recommend and plan to return again!

Overall we have a good experience but map was a little bit confuse. Very nice host by the way and duck egg was so delicious. Creekside#3 was very noisy in the morning due to construction, they start working at 7.30 AM beside that everything is good!

There are some compromises to camping in this area. The advantage of this site vs wider bodega area is that there is more last minute availability this and you are not in a big windy campground on the coast. It's only 10 mins to the beach. And you can visit the owners and buy their locally produced meat and eggs. However, it costs more and there is no running water. I did not find the proximity to the road off-putting.

Really beautiful spot with lots to explore. some spots are more private than others and creekside #3 is ideal for those wanting a little space. the only downside is that you are visible from the road so passersby may catch a glimpse at you sunbathing in the hammock you set up among the beautiful trees. enjoyed my time here and will return again to camp and check out the farm!

Beautiful campsite and very helpful hosts! The drive from visitor parking is pretty offroady so make sure your car is prepared. They also have a subaru to rent which worked great for us.

We loved our site right next to the creek. We were lucky enough to be mostly alone during the week and then get some great neighbors on the weekend. We had just been camping at the coast in a state park the week prior, and our kids absolutely loved how quiet and magical this place felt in comparison. The directions were all very clear, and we took our kids up on a walk to get fresh eggs and sausage, which was one of their highlights. We will absolutely come again.

I came to camp at creekside camp 2 with high expectations: the campground was marketed as kids friendly with animals, tree house and great amenities. I ended up being completely secluded from all the above. The campground itself was nice, but for the super premium of $140 I paid, I could’ve got a nice bnb, or much better camps. Be aware of the discrepancy in the camp marketing. What you get is a nice spot with nothing around.

The spot was a nice clean area, loved that there was provided tools such as a fire extinguisher and area to dispose of ash / shovel. I would say the only downside was how close to the road it was, made it feel less private. We were also awoken at 11PM to people walking through the bushes of our campsite talking and using flashlights which was a bit alarming in an area you’re not familiar with. Otherwise loved the fire pit, and the accessories provided to the area!

Eagle's Nest Treehouse Farmstay
Words are not easy to find when describing the Eagles Nest treehouse . My husband and I agree that it is something to experience . Photos and words don’t do it justice . Magical comes close Peaceful and tranquil is what you feel being there. Highly recommended for an escape even just for one night . John & Lesley have a wonderful place to share , they are lovely hosts.

We LOVED redwood site number 1. Luxurious grove of redwoods with lots of good privacy and so many sweet nooks. We came with a 3 and 4 year old and they were blissed out running around in the meadow and hanging by the creek. John was such a welcoming host, we throughly enjoyed the farms meat and eggs, and loved being a close drive to the beach. Do listen to the bit about the all wheel drive! The road down to the site is no joke :)

This location was very convenient to Bodega Bay and other towns in the area. It's near a road but there is very little noise, we saw maybe 1 car drive by each day. Our camper van is tall and we were concerned about driving under a large branch but John was kind enough to come right out and fix the branch for us. He was very kind and we enjoyed speaking with him. We did not spend much time exploring their land but look forward to doing so in the future. Beautiful settting and friendly hosts. All as advertised. A four night stay with my eight year old grandson, and we both had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.

A nice secluded spot by a creek, but well used and small and not particularly well taken care of. Extremely expensive, we would not have gone except we were in transit and needed somewhere to sleep in our van for a night. For that its seclusion was fine, but would never stay longer here.

My husband, our golden retriever, and I had the best time at Salmon Creek Ranch! From hiking the scenic trails to watching our dog splash around in the creek, every moment was unforgettable. We wandered through breathtaking redwood forests, took in stunning mountain views, and completely fell in love with the peaceful beauty of this place. If you’re looking for the perfect camping getaway, we can’t recommend Salmon Creek Ranch enough. We wish we could have stayed longer and we’re already counting down the days until we can come back!

Redwood Camp #1
Perfect! Shady spot with plenty to explore. You drive down a big hill to get to the camp sites. The farm is at the top of the hill (requires a car) and that's where you can see goats and ducks/visit the mercantile. By the campsites, there are hiking trails and a creek you can wade in and a little swing.
