Classy outdoor getaway or hippie dippy haven? Lake Guntersville State Park is like a skilled politician; it'll be whatever you want it to be. Stay in one of the fancy chalets or connect with Mother Nature in your well-worn tent. Stroll along the sands of the beach, fish to your heart's content in Alabama's largest lake, then hike or bike 36 miles of stretching trails. With an 18-hole golf course as well, you'll have ample opportunity to perfect your swing. Bring some binoculars to check out the ever-growing bald eagle population, then shuttle off to the nearby Cathedral Caverns, which boast one of the world's largest stalagmites. Once you've eaten in the Pinecrest Dining Room, kick back at the bar. Dry Martini or Sex on the Beach? We'll let you be the judge.
