Welcome to CAMP 222, a private campground nestled on approximately 1 acre of land adjacent to Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. Experience the tranquility of lake life as you enjoy boating adventures accessed via our private boat ramp. Relax and bask in the sun on our floating sun deck, or unwind in the shade with a nap in one of our hammocks. As night falls, gather around our fire pit to share stories without the distractions of nearby campers. Our campground offers camper hook-ups for water and electricity, although sewer facilities are not available from April - November a portable toilet is on site. During the months of December - March, guests must either have a camper with a restroom or bring their own camp toilets. Conveniently situated just off Cullman County Road 222, our campsite is within a quarter mile of two gas stations, two independently owned stores offering short-order food options, and a Dollar General. While there may be some road noise from County Road 222, especially during daytime hours, it typically tapers off in the evening and nighttime. Enjoy stunning views of the 4th of July fireworks from Smith Lake Park, as our property provides a prime vantage point. Lewis Smith Lake, managed by Alabama Power, spans 21,000 acres and is the deepest lake in Alabama at 264 ft. The water level varies throughout the year, usually reaching full-pool from April to July before gradually decreasing for the autumn and winter seasons. Please note the rocky shore near the sun deck, which is why jumping or diving from the sun deck is prohibited. The nearby City of Cullman, located approximately 10 miles away, offers abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Additionally, the city hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the Strawberry Festival in April, Octoberfest in October, and Christkindlmarkt in November & December.My campground is 1 acre of lakefront property on Lewis Smith Lake in Cullman, AL. with a private sun deck (floating pier) and boat ramp. The City of Cullman is approximately 11 miles away with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Popular attractions in the Cullman area are The Ave Maria Grotto (12 miles), Heritage Park (9 miles), Goat Island Brewing (10 miles), Ethos Craft Brewing/Bloom Winery and Pizza, 5 miles, and the Festhalle Farmers Market (10 miles). Cullman County has some notable attractions including Clarkson Covered Bridge (11 miles) and The Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament (19 miles).

County Road 222 and is easy to find. Power and water hookups are available onsite as well as a portable toilet and outside shower with hot water. Rachael has taken extra steps to ensure her guest enjoy their stay at Camp 222. The shower and latrine are in excellent condition and the shower's hot water supply is a nice positive. The fire pit, night lights, hammocks, and swing all add to a relaxing and pleasing atmosphere with several spot to lay back and enjoy your stay. If you like to fish, I had the most luck going left upstream on the branch and fishing a little north of Cappie's Boat dock. I would highly recommend Camp 222 to future campers. One negative comment, the camp is just off a fairly busy road. You will hear traffic throughout the day and early evening. But, the positives far out weight this minor negative for me.

What a quaint spot along the river! Everything you need: boat launch, floating dock, hot shower, fire pit, and space!!! Lots of it. I appreciated being greeted by the hosts father at the gate and given a brief tour. He made quick friends with my dog, and was proud to provide the history of his family’s land and the river. Town, with all the amenities you might need from a city, is 10 mins away. The camp is along a well traveled road, but gets very quiet at night for sleeping. You also have private residences across the river, but that did not impact my sense of privacy or safety. I would definitely return if in the area again.

I really enjoyed tent camping on Rachel’s land ! Everything was clean and beautiful. The hot shower was fantastic and having electricity on demand was great also! Firewood was provided although… I didn’t get a chance to use it only because the winds were blowing so much, I didn’t want to be irresponsible. I read where people mention the road noise…I think the key is getting there early enough and after a little bit, you kind of don’t notice it. Now, if you got there right before or at nightfall, it might be an irritant for a little while but… it dies down dramatically. It felt extremely safe and private. Upon getting there, Rachel’s dad and husband, met me at the gate, unlocked it and showed me everything I needed to be shown. How to use the hot shower, which was easy, how to turn on the power and use the electricity box, which was also easy also. The box had a 50-30- and 4 standard outlets …so you were covered all the way around as far as being able to have electricity for your tent or RV or pop-up! Also, there was a water outlet with drinkable water and three additional outlets for water…Note… it was great having a light switch on the electrical box, which turned on the lights goingacross the camping area! Right before they left, I was given the key to the gate and told to call if I had any issues or questions whatsoever, so I could lock and unlock the gate anytime ! Great place and great people! I am already planning my next trip back! Thank you so so much Rachel ! 😊

Have visited this site several times, we have enjoyed it every time and we will definitely be back several more. Always clean, quiet, plenty of firewood, outdoor shower, a clean grill to use. Water and power provided. Host is very nice and helpful.

Beautiful place, everything is exactly as described. The road is a little noisy but I didn’t mind. Where else do you get a camper spot on the water, with private boat launch, dock, fire pit etc. For the information of future campers, there is a free rv dump station at the Interstate rest area 7 miles away. We stopped on the way out to flush the tanks.

The gentleman that met us was very nice and explained how to use everything. We loved the fact that everything was so clean and we wanted for nothing including wood for the campfire. The shower was really neat and hot water was really appreciated. Only drawback was the dogs across the lake barked non stop from 5-9 PM. No fault of owner of campground so don't hold that against them. Just be aware that you will have to deal with that. The only other small problem for me was getting up the little rise out of the port-a-potty/shower area. If you are not a senior, it will not be a problem for you. I would just have appreciated a couple of rock steps or something there. All in all, we loved our time there and if ever back in this area would definitely try to book it again.

Yes, I would recommend. We absolutely loved being on the water, views were great. The property was very nice, large amount of space. Sitting at the fire had nice views. Would like a little more privacy from the road, which there was a fair amount of traffic. Be nice to have a 15’ privacy fence near the hookups, shower & porta jon. Pota Jon needed cleaning, had not been cleaned/emptied in two weeks. Great communication with the host, very hospitable and friendly.

Spent our wedding anniversary here. Was so much better than crowded RV camps. Very clean and well taken care of. Out door shower was a plus. Very nice host. Will definitely be a regular visitor.

Great location, aside from being next to the road, which I didn't find to be much of a problem. Shower was great. Toilets, hammocks, lake front! Cappys boat rental is next door, and we rented a pontoon to take out on the gorgeous lake.

We had a great time with our three girls on Rachael’s land. The dock was fun to fish off of. There were tons of geese and cranes on the lake which my girls loved to watch. I wish the road next to the site wasn’t quite so busy but that’s not anyone’s fault. If you’re bringing dogs be aware the gate does not fully enclose the property so if you have a runner like we do just a heads up. Overall the property was clean, peaceful and a fun stay for our family and two dogs.

We love Camp 222. This was our 2nd stay there and will plan another trip there again. We like everything about it. Property is shaded, nice campfire pit with chairs and side tables, 2 picnic tables, 2 very nice hammocks, fishing pier and boat ramp. Everything you would want is right there. Also a nice clean shower and potty.

Neat place. We recently bought our first camper and wanted to go somewhere close and private to just get a feel for it. This place was perfect. An enormous amount of space for us and very easy to maneuver in and out of. The outdoor shower was a neat touch. I did not need it but used it to decrease the amount of gray water in my tanks. Will definitely be going back just for quick getaways!!!

We LOVED our stay here. Wish we could come back every month! Everything about this place was well thought out AND well done. We loved having the privacy while also being on the water where everything happens! We brought our boat and teardrop camper and it was perfect! The hammocks were perfect to relax and read in, the swimming dock was great to float around next to, and the shower was phenomenal. Made my husband look into building one at our house lol! Can't wait to stay again!

We had the absolute best time at this camp. Everyone had a blast. It’s private, you can swim, you can shower, there is a toilet. Lots of room to roam around. Our kids and dog had a blast and so did we. Highly recommend.

The communication was so nice and the in person meet and greet was even better. Sweetest older gentleman met us gate and unlocked it and guided us in. Visited for a few minutes before letting us have at it. Everything was spotless and positioned just perfectly. We made use of the grill there. The fire ring. The outhouse and outdoor shower. Now i want an outdoor shower just like thiers! Everything impeccable 👌 ✨️ CANNOT WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN! SOOOOOON HOPEFULLY!

Perfect spot to enjoy the lake. Biggest designated camp spot I have ever seen! Bring a few or all your friends and enjoy the fire pit, fish off the dock and launch your water toys at the private boat launch. Can't wait to go back!
