Past trip
in Ouachita River Haven, ArkansasThe site we had was an RV space literally a stone's throw from the river's edge. It was gorgeous. Tons of trees, lush greenery everywhere...we could hear the river flowing from our camper...just wonderful. There are other campsites on the property, but they're thoughtfully spaced out to guarantee privacy. The water and electric hookups were sound, and there are restroom facilities within easy walking distance from the camping area. This would be an ideal camp for either groups or someone seeking a little solitude. We did not canoe or fish during our stay but this would've been a great place for it. The hosts were friendly, laid back, gracious and very helpful. I've used Hipcamp a few times now and this has probably been my favorite experience thus far.

Ardor Wood Farm Camping
in Ardor Wood Farm, TexasRandall C.recommends this listing.
(Dispersed site)
Ardor Wood is in a lovely, heavily wooded area about 30 minutes from East Austin. My girlfriend and I just wanted to get out of the city for a little overnight nature-time and this place perfectly met our expectations. It felt very out of the way and private. At the campsite there was a nearby faucet for potable water and a clean, working outhouse. Aside from that, it was an otherwise authentically primitive camping experience. I would absolutely reccomend this place for couples or families. I would also suggest picking up some of their honey while you're there. It's delicious.
