The property where once three islands and owned by the Hormel family. Around 50 years ago the northern islands on Leech Lake were developed into a peninsula. Years ago the Hormel family left the resort and it was buried underground. There are some stories you may hear around the point of the infamous Al Capone, from Chicago, once came up to the point for recreation and to get away from the authorities in Chicago.
