Primitive Site
in Steady Slope Fields and Forest, New YorkWe had a great time staying at Amanda's. The value for the price is unbeatable. Amanda was super responsive to messages and a gracious host.
The camp site provided plentiful privacy, despite being close to a nearby road, we never encountered another person near the campsite. It was also a reasonably short walk to the park area.
The hosts let you use a hose attached to their house to refill water as much as you need, and their two pups (Ripley and Pepper) always greet you with love.
I recommend Bramley Mountain Trail, which is just down the road and a solid couple hour hike.
