The Get-Away
in The Get-Away, MichiganCamp 437 Tipi site
in Camp 437 in the Sturgeon Valley, MichiganThis was exactly what we needed...!
My brain was absolutely fried from work. I was desperate for a place to get away from everything and I found it! Far enough out from the world for peace and quiet (and no cell reception, which is a BIG plus!) but dry, and with a solid bed to rest on.
Free firewood, a large, clean site, and a "bathroom" that's more comfortable, smells better, and has a better view than most camp litrines are a nice bonuses that let me actually relax and truly do NOTHING but enjoy the calm and quiet.
However, a protip: if you bring a dog camping here, and your dog is small, smart, brave, naughty, or all of the above (like my baby girl is!) you'll want to either bring a crate or tether your dog INSIDE the Tipi when you sleep. Because otherwise, your smart, brave, naughty little baby WILL slip under the bottom of the Tipi in the middle of the night to go bark at raccoons.
It's a very exciting place for pups to camp! Be ready to manage all that joy and wild abandon!
Strawberry Farm Forested Camping-
in Country Road House and Berries, West VirginiaRise and shine, it's breakfast time
Angela was a wonderful ambassador, welcoming us to West Virginia and her farm. She's a phenomenal cook, so don't skip breakfast!
We spent the nights star gazing and watching the bats swoop overhead, and woke up to an all natural rooster alarm clock. What a fantastic experience.
Thank you so much Angela!
