Redwood Ranch
in Redwood Ranch - wedding venue, CaliforniaMy friends and I stayed at the ranch for a weekend reunion. We had a great time and really enjoyed the property - I highly recommend it! We were a group of about 40, with some staying in the barn-house and most camping in trucks or tents. The barn is in great shape and very cozy. It has two kitchens which was a blessing. The property is very special, it's in a wooded valley with a creek cutting across. Snowmelt was running through energetically when we visited - the water looked and sounded beautiful. The water was of course very cold in May. But there is a wood-fired sauna adjacent to the largest watering hole, which made jumping in for a quick swim possible (and sensational). Camping-wise, there were a variety of options for tent spots: cleared areas adjacent to the barn, some flat spots next to the creek, a small grove across the bridge that opened up into a grassy meadow, etc. etc. Lots of beautiful plant life around - I remember mostly Oaks, a large bay tree and also a tree with cotton-like blooms that I was not familiar with. Truly amazing spot.
