Modjeska Canyon Ridgeline Views
in Modjeska Canyon Ridgeline, CaliforniaGreat views, hiking and peaceful...
Modjeska Canyon Ridgeline offers great views, loads of hiking trails and a quiet peaceful campsite. The drive was very easy and it is only about an hour from Los Angeles.
Our host Vlad was very easy to communicate with and he responded quickly to any questions. He is very knowledgeable about the area and was able to provide information on local trails and points of interest.
The campsite was clean and quiet with a fantastic view of Santiago Peak (Saddleback Mountain). We saw lots of wildlife and native plants. This location is perfect for relaxing with a good book or going on a 10 mile hike, the possibilities are endless. Thanks Vlad, we will defiantly be back.
I Luv Spam
in Tammy Reeves, CaliforniaGreat camp sites!
Had a great stay at "I Luv Spam" Great location next to Joshua Tree. Clean and well kept camp sites. It was very quite and relaxing. Great star gazing too!
The host were easy to communicate with and helpful.
Valley Overview & Mini Goats (RVs!)
in Bierbaum Pepper Farm w/Goats!, CaliforniaWe had a great experience at Bierbaum Pepper Farms. Super easy drive and the directions were spot on. Our host, Marcella and David were so helpful in every possible way. They go our of their way to make sure you have everything you need and more. Their site is a lovely 11 acre spread were we could watch the sun rise and set each day. It is quiet and very relaxing. The chickens and goats really add to the experience and the fresh eggs they sell are fabulous! I am looking forward to our return trip when some goat cheese and pepper spread may be available! Thanks again Marcella, you are a fantastic HIPCAMP host!
Finding Ground - Your RV/Trailer
in Finding Ground RV Camping, CaliforniaQuite spot just outside of Joshua Tree. Susan offers a level RV pad with water, RV sanitation and free Wi-Fi. Lots of areas to walk near by and we spotted plenty of wildlife. Very nice to sit outside and enjoy the city lights in the distance. The area is very peaceful and Susan was a good host.
Unhitched Ranch
in The Unhitched Ranch, CaliforniaThis is our second time visiting The Unhitched Ranch, and it never disappoints! This is a very relaxing spot to watch horses and wild burro's. There is plenty of hiking and areas to ride off road bicycles. One of the best things about the Ranch is how close it is to Los Angeles and how easy it is to get there. Nick is a great host; he is there if you need him but leaves you alone to enjoy the property. This has become our "go to" place!
Unhitched Ranch
in The Unhitched Ranch, CaliforniaWhat a fantastic place! We met our host Nick and Audrey at their Horse Ranch, called "Unhitched Ranch" when we checked in. They gave us the lay of the land and told us to set up where ever we liked. We selected a little rise above some of the horse pens that had a view across the hills down to the city lights. They were super friendly and shared a lot of information about the area, their horses and their ranch. They were really easy going and could not have been more helpful. Nick offered up assistance in connecting our RV and offered a table and chairs and even an outdoor rug for our use if we wanted it. Once we were settled in they left us to do our own thing whilst they worked their Ranch. It was great fun watching them work their horses.
The area itself is quite beautiful, nestled in the hills, the Ranch seems to fit in a canyon area that has its share of wild roaming Burro's! There are plenty of hills for hiking which we did, and great areas for Mountain Biking, which we will do next time.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Unhitched Ranch, where our closest camping neighbors were horses and wild Burro's! We can't wait to go back!
