Hey Party People! We had a fabulous camping experience at Mustang Valley Campground. It may be on the primitive side for some but it suited our small group just fine. Mark and Jennafer were welcoming and gracious hosts with fascinating stories of Navajo life which you wouldn't get to hear about by staying at other, more commercialized campgrounds. I wish we had more time to talk to them about their amazing honeybee project but we kept coming back too late from our daily adventures. Oh...helpful tip. Bring strong stakes! Don't use them cheap free ones you get with most tents. The ground is pretty hard and a few of my group members bent their stakes trying to pound them into the dirt. One person decided to use rocks to try and hold the tent down but the wind (it gets mighty gusty at times) blew the tent a few yards away. Make sure you get up early to catch the silhouettes of the mesas and buttes from Monument Valley at sunrise. Spectacular stuff.
