The hosts’ home was built in 1870 by the Young family, one of the first to settle in this area. Over one hundred years ago, the waterfall on the property powered a gristmill that was used to grind grain to flour for the community of Newdale. The cabin was added to the property much later (circa 1980’s) during one of its many updating and renovating phases.
