5 acres on river near DOOR county
in 5 Secluded Acres on River, WisconsinAbsolutely gorgeous setting. Very private. Lots of trees and paths. Clean toilet and kayaks and an aluminum johnboat to use to get on the river to go fishing. Not a place to go swimming, but definitely place to go fishing! We did well! Our first comment upon leaving was that we could imagine using it as our campsite for our door county trip next year as well. Canât get much higher praise than that I guess! Craigâs communication was excellent.

Absolutely beautiful countryside! And maybe 100 yards from the Ice Age Trail. Easy access to Elkhart Lake and lots of surrounding areas. We tent camp. The instructions as to where to camp and the communication in general were very good. Our hosts checked in on us and made sure things were OK. We were able to get 110 V service and a hose. This was, in part, because we were told access to the bathroom was only during daylight hours and we wanted to be able to run our own portable equipment like a standalone shower. After talking with our host, it became clear that we had more flexibility than we thought. Other people do camp there and the shared bathroom includes the use by a potential Airbnb guest if one is scheduled. It worked out well for us, and we would definitely go again. The only negative was that it truly is just a large grass backyard and so privacy is minimal. Our last night had an RV parked 75â from us even though there were acres available. But in the end, it all worked out well, our hosts were very accommodating, and the location and beauty of the particular spot is really lovely!

The campsite was very much as described and Matt was excellent at answering questions, helping us out, and general communication. Definitely a recommendation. Read the other reviews carefully. We were at the beach location. It is small stones like round gravel. We set up our tent underneath the aluminum carport which was good because it rained every day. But thatâs a compliment! It really helped with an additional layer of protection! This next comment is not a criticism; because we were there during a very rainy week, and because the beach is on the river, the river was fast and the river was very stirred up. However, our primary reason for being there was for hiking at local parks and finding some interesting places to eat. We also like our privacy. As the listing mentioned, there is no electricity and no running water of any sort. One bar of service on our phones. As one of the reviewers mentioned, the beach location is a solid walk to the Porta potty. Trains do come through including in the middle of the night and including sounding their horns. Not a big deal for us but worth noting if you donât fall back to sleep easily because the only time we heard them was during the middle of the night. So altogether, a definite recommend if you like âoff the grid âcamping. We do, so we had a great time, and Matt was always helpful.

Gorgeous views and very chill. Good choice of a variety of site types. Very chill. Kind of a roll-with-it sort of atmosphere which worked well for us. I could be super picky but the reality is that my girlfriend and I will go right back here next time we want to be in this area ...
