Quaint Lakeside Nature Cabin
in A Promise to Gaia/Garden Of One, New YorkI can only second all of the positive previous reviews. A charming cabin in a beautiful spot. The pond/lake is a gem, and we enjoyed paddling the canoe out to the center, then just kicking back to take in the sun and listen to an audio book. The cabin is well-enough equipped that you can cook good meals (we had Thai mussels one night, and a cook-up on a grill the next), but keeps it rustic enough that you also get a bit of a camping experience (no running water). It's also super cozy, with a very comfortable bed and a lovely porch with rocking chairs.
Rachel and Brian were welcoming and warm. The cabin was tucked away and private, but their house was close enough that they were easily available as needed.
The surrounding area is lovely - set in rolling hills, and with a modest hike to a waterfall nearby a short drive away.
We had a great time, and would happily return!
