in Woolman at Sierra Friends Center, CaliforniaLaura was quick to respond and provided directions that were accurate so we got there without any trouble despite not having any service. Laura and staff were super friendly, bathroom facilities and shower were well kept and clean. Other guest were respectful and quiet at night, however, I would strongly suggest bringing your own stove to cook with despite the available shared kitchen. The next morning there were 3 people who seemed to have just eaten breakfast, were cleaning dishes and rather than move there already packed food in order for the counter space to be shared they chose to crowd in the kitchen talking about things they like to eat, where to buy them, etc. Only one person was washing dishes and seemed to be highly distracted by the morning chat, hence taking a very long time. They also seemed to be packing things they used for breakfast to go out for the day and had no concern that we too wanted to use the kitchen.
They did apologize when we arrived and asked we wait for them, mentioning the space was so small and was already crowded. My tiny gf did not wait to make coffee, however their unwillingness to help share the space made it difficult to prep our food. We prepped in a side room and ended up eating an hour after the coffee. This caused us to leave out to swim much later than we planned so just be prepared for people less mindful than you and hoarding the kitchen.
Basil hasn't gone on any trips yet.
