Golf enthusiasts can take a swing at the onsite 18-hole course, and there's plenty of room for everyone to be a happy camper. But the real star of Chenango Valley State Park is its two kettle lakes, Lily and Chenango, which were created when the last glacier retreated and left behind huge chunks of buried ice which melted to form the lakes and bog. Visiting Chenango may not be a literal trip back to the ice age, but a dip in these glacial lakes will leave you feeling rejuvenated.

One of my favorites. There are plenty of trails around two of the park's glacier formed lakes plus the nearby Chenango River. The river is also home to a growing bald eagle population.
