Before we ever reached the campground, my partner and I struggled with site selection because it is difficult to tell which of the pictures online correspond to which campsite. We guessed as best as we could, picking the spot 3B because it was a little more secluded. When we arrived we had a bit of trouble orienting ourselves and trekked down a number of trails between the facilities that were frankly super overgrown with ferns. Obviously no one is coming to the rain forest to bask in clearcut, nor going camping with the desire to see the native foliage hacked back, but walkable trails and bridges that are not intensely slippery would have made the experience of looking for our spot less frustrating. The campsite itself was a huge disappointment: it is a series of three smallish clearings stacked one above the other terrace-style up a steep hillside, with some uninviting patio furniture sprinkled around. There is a cramped perpendicularity to it that is neither homey nor inviting and doesn’t make activities like tent pitching, cooking, or sitting by the fire remotely attractive. Trying to make the best of our disappointment we used the Wifi hotspot (which /is/ a valuable feature of this campground!) to send a message to the host asking if there was any availability to switch spots. That was a week and a half ago and I have still not heard back from them :/ We ended up not unpacking at all and drove up the road to a completely different campground.

This place is amazing!

We pulled into Logan’s piece of rainforest in the evening and knew right away this place is not your average Hipcamp. They’ve created something special working within the forest instead of just clearing it and putting up some tents. Paths wander through the woods to special secluded coffee spots and to the well appointed shared outdoor kitchen area. It has a sort of hostel in the woods feel. You can have a fire with your coffee in the morning. Logan is a woodworker and an artist. There are sculptures and hangout niches throughout the woods so you can visit with others or find your own quiet place. We stayed in a Kodiak tent which was clean and had a small space heater to take the cold edge off. There are other small cabins worth investigating too. Location is right off a long biking/ walking path and close to hot springs and the Storm King hike. I’d definitely like to do a bike tour that includes a layover here.

If you’re looking for a chill vibe, nicely kept sites, with easy access, trails, communal kitchens, ample wilderness, close proximity to Lake Crescent…you’ve found a great place to stay. I camped in site 3 - plenty of seclusion at this site! The upper deck that belongs to site 3 was great! 8x8 footprint and up a short trail, so if your tent is larger than that like mine was, we just set up down near the campfire/picnic table area. This site is covered from the sun by a dense canopy of trees and lots of natural greenery (ferns!!!). It also had a nice long “driveway” so it sits back from the main gravel roadway of the property. Picnic table was awesome, the babbling brook next to the site, so the sounds from the water were unexpected and lovely. The wood carvings throughout the property were awesome. Every time I walked around I saw something new, even if I just walked past. Staff was lovely. Bathrooms/showers were clean, the other campers were respectful of the space and the nature. I would definitely recommend camping here, but also?…kinda want to keep it a secret. Haha!! Thanks for the awesome stay.

Magical place in a great location

Magical place! Everything was perfect. We were in site #6 which was easy access. Hot showers with towels, coffee for breakfast. Didn't even need the sleeping bag, the tent was warm and cozy with a heater and blankets.

We stayed in a car site! It was so close to the Hot Springs and a wonderfully hidden, magical oasis. They’ve curated a beautiful space full of moss, mushrooms, and Forrest magic!

Fantastic experience all around. The campground was whimsical with amazing wood art poking out all over the place along with signs for different trees (there are trilliums all over the place, one suggestion would be to make signs to show what those are so people know to try not to step on them if possible or pick them if they see them- signed, A plant nerd) and twinkle lights perfectly scattered throughout the area - everywhere you looked there was something that made me smile. We stayed at site 3 which was perfect for our car top tent with tons of space and mostly secluded. The amount of extras and details put into this campground are something else, in a an awesome way. The outdoor kitchens were super cool and had lots of things if needed for whatever you want to make. the community areas were awesome and had some very friendly resident chipmunks that were fun to watch, restrooms and showers were also great - the oooonly thing I’d worry about is if the camp was full that there would be a wait for both (we’re fine with waits, but I know some people aren’t enthusiastic about them or maybe physically can’t). The availability for WiFi if needed came in handy a couple of times but it was nice to not have signal at our site and really be able to chill/unplug. 20/10 place. Looking forward to the next trip.

Camping, hot springs, and hiking.

Great camping spot conveniently located right next to the Olympic Discovery Trail and Olympic National Forest. My site was the fringe of the retreat but more private and perfect for me. I did see a few ODT bike riders from my spot. Potable water and other amenities are near by, and the site includes a raised wooden pad for the tent, a campfire ring, and a table. I appreciated the close proximity to the Sol Doc hot springs and falls. I recommend this spot and look forward to coming back with my bicycle!

Tent camping here with kids was a breeze, we picked the furthest site to still have the forest feel and it didn’t disappoint. It was a short little walk to the bathrooms/showers. We saw people cleaning the bathrooms every morning and we brought our own towels but we saw freshly cleaned towels in the bathrooms everyday. There’s plenty of bathrooms to where you don’t have to wait for one. The kitchens had pots, pans, potable drinking water, utensils and stoves if you decide to not bring a camping stove or kitchen items. The communal area had cute benches and table with a campfire pit and so many cute carved mushrooms. My son’s favorite thing was the covered pinpong table we hung out at when it rained. We had our own camping stove so we just cooked there and hung out. Definitely recommend for families! The cute friendly dogs were also a huge plus!

I had such a fun time here! felt so welcomed and truly enjoyed my stay(: legendary stories to be had in a place such as this. right in the middle of nearly everything olympic has to offer so the location is incredible as well! truly loved this place and will definitely be back(: strawberries abundant!

Really cool spot. Beautiful location, right next to the Olympic National Forest (literally bordering it) with trails to Lake Crescent. Nice bathrooms, warm showers, well equipped kitchen areas.

We found Sol Duc Rainforest retreat on Hipcamp somewhat at random, and are SO GLAD we did!! We were planning to camp for one night before conitnuing on our road trip and ended up staying for three just because we loved it here so much. Location, vibes, staff, other campers... all exceptional.

The site was cute and I love all the cool trails and amazing carvings. Site three felt pretty private but still close to everything we needed. My only issue was I was camping with my 77 year old mom and the the path up to the tent platform was very steep. If I had realized that I would have chosen a different spot. Despite that we had a great! Very cool campground.

The place was nice. Number three was fantastic! There's a 30+ mile trail not far from there and Crescent Lake is minutes away across the main road. Is the sol duc hot springs. The showers were nice and hot and there's a place to clean your dishes with soap provided.

Absolutely loved our site! Lots of space for a big group or a little more secluded and quiet if you are solo! 10/10 the coolest place you will ever stay, the character in this place truly made it magical, the woodcarvings, labeled vegetation & the amazing communal spaces made this a must stay spot. I will definitely be back! Loved the easy access to walking trails, the wooden platforms for gear and the provided table and benches! Easy access via a trail to Lake Crescent made it truly hard to beat!

Puts the Glam in glamping

Really adorable site. There's WiFi in an otherwise 'dead' zone. Showers, bathrooms, covered places to cook and mystical mushroom themed grounds. The little heater did almost nothing for us in our little tent in late March, no big deal.

Camped in the snow!

There was a blizzard warning during my visit and it did snow quite a bit, being surrounded by such gorgeous trees and carvings made this snowy camping trip magical! We ended up cutting our trip short because we were afraid of not being able to get up and down the hill in the snow. We stayed in site 0 which has a small hill into the site and a larger hill you walk down to access the amenities. The snow made it a bit slick but otherwise this place is perfect! I can’t wait to stay here during the summer!
