Great site, but host kept awake

Campsite was 5/5--picnic table, open grassy area, firewood in bin nearby. Lovely! VERY hard to find at night. Directed to a map at a stand that was also SUPER hard to find. Host house at entrance was blaring music at crazy level (don't know how their hearing survived) that made it hard to get to sleep all the way across the lavender field. Don't know what time they finally turned it down/off. Sounded like drunken karaoke. Never heard of hosts being the noise-makers and keeping guests awake. Pre-purchased honey (which was a wonderful product). No communication about it so we texted host and they dropped it by our campsite before they headed to work (nice, but would have been far better to have communication and initiative from host vs having to chase it down). Would really like to say we had a positive experience and would come again but host blasting music into the night and keeping guests awake is a hard no-go.

i was there after lavender season, but i imagine the grounds are absolutely gorgeous during the bloom. even workout it, the surrounding mountain scenery was really gorgeous.

This worked great for our family Labor Day trip. The lone cherry grove site was huge and had more than enough room for my 24’ travel trailer and the in-laws’ a-frame camper. Lots of room to spread out, play cornhole, etc. Nice walking trails for the dogs. Close to the river and not too far to activities in Packwood.

Beautiful campground with lots of spacious sites. Wooded Glade was very secluded but not a far walk from the bathroom (porta potty). The shower is wood-stove-heated if you want hot water, but we didn’t use it during our stay. Fun trail around the campground to walk around. Overall, great stay with clear instructions from the host!

Loved our stay in Meadow Life! Host is super responsive, property is beautiful with a great hiking trail surrounding it. Other campers were there and while you can see/hear them at times, it still felt very secluded. Definitely would come back again!

Potty Policy Will Prevent a Return

Overall, this is a beautiful farm with a bunch of fantastic campsites. We had a wonderful time stargazing and swimming in a nearby river. There was a burn ban during our trip, so the shower was cold-only (and a little tricky to operate), but still a very appreciated feature! The only, but major, downside that will likely prevent reurn trips is the host's very intentional decision to have the port-a-potties emptied as infrequently as possible, in order to keep site fees low. I've personally experienced much fuller potties (I've been to Burning Man several times), but this was still out of the ordinary based on other hipcamp stays. Most of my group was very frustrated and grossed out by how full and fragrant the potties were when we arrived, and when we left they were still at least a week away from being emptied. Folks who aren't fussy about poop should absolutely consider staying here! But groups who are accustomed to less rustic toilet standards should know that the quality of your stay will depend on luck regarding when the potties were last emptied relative to your visit.

The site was perfect for a last minute, large group camping experience. We had several newbies to camping and it was a great soft launch experience for them and still enjoyable for those that were more experienced! We utilized Lavender View for our larger group hangouts since it was more private and the Kiona View campsite for setting up tents for sleeping. Easy access to get from one site to the other! The pit toilets and shower were a major plus. The location is great for exploring Randle, Packwood, Rainier NP and Gifford Pinchot NF.

I booked the Kiona View and Lavender View campsites for a large group camp weekend! The entire property was beautiful and included everything needed. The spaces were spacious, clean, and the shower house and pit toilets were a plus! Great spot for soft launching some new friends into their first camping experience!

I would highly recommend this spot! The lavender fields and view were beautiful, the campsite was spacious, and there was a nice outdoor shower to use. The host was very friendly and answered all questions we had and made us feel welcome.

It was a nice space for a big group, even though we only ended up having 3 people in our group. Plenty of room for multiple tents. There was a fire ban, so we couldn’t use the available fire pit, but there was firewood available to purchase close by, if we had needed it. Two porta-potty’s close by that were maintained pretty well. Great stargazing location!

There were some opportunities for improvement with communication regarding gunfire close to campsites. This caused some tension between us and the owner which wasn't handled with grace by the owner. The combination of the both these factors caused our party to feel unsafe. Because of this, we left two days early.

Wooded Glade was amazing!

We loved camping in the Wooded Glade site! It was really private but the porta potty wasn't too far away. The site was huge and well taken care of! We also got the camper bundle of lavender products from the farm and they are amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

Gunfire next door

Our camp stay at the lavender farm was a mixed experience. During our stay, we observed that there were intermittent gun shots from nearby properties (mostly at a farther distance), as other property owners seem to use part of their land as shooting ranges. That wasn’t a problem in itself, but it did create a problem when the neighboring property owner was shooting at dusk right along the property line by the campsites. Campers in a site neighboring us, who happened to be walking their dog along the property line when the shots began, yelled at the shooter to stop because they felt unsafe. (the other property owner who was shooting, was close enough to engage in talking and yelling back-and-forth with these other guests, which seemed to escalate and include both parties threatening each other). A few minutes later, Justin zoomed up in his truck and started arguing with the neighboring group, having received a phone call from his disgruntled neighbor and escalating the situation rather than using any sort of de-escalation skills or expressing curiosity about the campers’ legitimate concerns. From Justin‘s previous communication re: driving directions, it was clear that his relationship with his neighbor is strained. Even excluding the escalating argument, the fact that it sounded like we were inside a shooting range when we were hoping for a peaceful escape was not an enjoyable factor for us, so should be something that you keep in mind if you book this property.

Plenty of room for tents in the Meadow Life site. The site had two clearings with fire pits (which we did not use because a burn ban was in effect). One clearing had no cover and was good for seeing uninterrupted night sky. The other clearing had shade, which made it more inviting during the heat of the day. Potable water was a short walk to the property entrance, and tasted slightly of lavender—nice! Burn ban also meant the shower water couldn’t be heated, but a cool shower was not a problem during hot afternoons. Great night time stargazing!

Lavender View Camp was absolutely amazing! The weather was great, the mountain views were beautiful, perfect for a relaxing, slow-paced vacation. The fragrant lavender scent was so relaxing. I even got to pick some lavender flowers to take home. The honey was also delicious and sweet. I will definitely be back again with my little niece. She loves purple and will surely love the lavender fields!

My 2 friends and I had a great 3 night trip at Lone Cherry Grove. The lavender was in bloom while we were there and we loved walking among it, looking and smelling. The property is in a beautiful valley and the campsites are very nice. We easily fit a teardrop trailer and a camper van. Lone Cherry Grove provided nice shade throughout the day, which was appreciated since it was so hot. The walking trails provide a nice opportunity to get some exercise and experience the environs and views of the mountains. Really nice to have portapotty nearby. Very relaxing, and plenty private.

We camped at the Lavender View site and it was nice to smell the lavender in the field and the view of the surrounding mountains. There was a picnic table and a fire ring. I personally prefer a flushing toilet over a honey bucket, and we did not know how to get the shower started. Other than that, it was good overall. We brought some lavender products from the store and got to meet the hosts then.

Wooded Glade

We car camped at the wooded glade sight -wonderful private nook with a picnic table and campfire. It's a short walk to the toilets (portent with hand washing station) and shower (freezing but fantastic set up -there's an option for warm water but we opted for the quick cold version -brisk and refreshing), but worth the extra privacy. Driving through the lavender was lovely and a great price for the night.
