The staff at Roamstead Campground were amazing and extremely helpful and accommodating. They let me change sites due to not being able to hookup. Can’t say enough about the staff… they were an absolute 10! The facilities were clean and well maintained and a nice playground for the kiddos. That said, it was 100% a campground. Any implied statements that this is someone’s private land/private space like many of the posting on this website would be misleading. In peak season you will be right next to your neighbor just like any other campground. It’s a wonderful place to stay just know you are booking a campground.

My family and I absolutely loved Roamstead. The on-site activities were great supplements to the easy access to smoky mountains and Gatlinburg. Having the stream right next to our cabin and rv site provided endless fun and exploration! Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful campground that’s very clean with lots of amenities. My BF and I stayed in a cute creek side cabin that was well stocked and extremely clean. The only negative was the bed- it was hard as a brick and neither of us got any sleep. In spite of that, we enjoyed the campground and next time will try tent camping.

We loved staying at Roamstead. We stayed in a yurt which was fantastic. It was warm and cozy (low in the 20's at night), and perfectly decorated. The bed had an amazingly comfortable mattress. Ample outlets for charging phones, coffee pot, etc. There were easy well lit paths to bathhouse and lodge. The staff was amazing! They're fabulous baristas as well. We truly felt at home away from home. We certainly hope our travels lead us back in the future. We have absolutely no complaints.

Fantastic setting! Loved the sound of the water running over the rocks. Close to the lodge but it too close. Small walk over bridge to grab a coffee or watch movie at night.

Best “glampground” ever!
Beautiful spot! Beautiful people.
I love being outdoors in nature but every once in awhile I like to be pampered like at a hotel. No need to give up nature this place does both.

The area where the yurts are is at the very back of the property, so it’s secluded and beside a stream. You can sleep with the sounds of a babbling brook & it’s heavenly! The property is well maintained, except for the lawn behind the main lodge…that one, you cant step in an area of the lawn without stepping on to animal scat (idk if it’s dog or other animals, but it’s the only area where every inch is covered with it, everywhere else? Clean.). The bathhouses & toilets are very vlean with very warm/hot showers & the hair dryers actually work & are full sized ones. Guests were all respectful of the quiet times & the staff were friendly & helpful. Overall, I highly recommend it & it definitely is kid friendly, with a well maintained playground my kid loved! Gburg & PF are 30-45 min away, so if you get tired of the peace & quiet, you can easily drive there for more touristy stuff. We’ll be back for sure!

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My family couldn't have asked for a better experience. Cabins are clean and well equipped. Will definitely visit again.

We had a great time at Roamstead! Our camping site was beautiful, level, large, well prepared and taken care off and with the stream right behind us we had the most beautiful view. The bathrooms are spacious, clean, good-smelling, and the showers have shampoo, conditioner and body wash included! There is a lounge with coffee, some hot meals, even beers and beautiful apparel. My husband worked remotely in the upstairs area, there is good WI-FI everywhere and the community areas are beautiful and very modern. They have programs of things to do over the weekend, there are nice trails that you can access directly from the campground and they have fun backyard games as well. This has quickly become one of our favorite campgrounds and we will certainly be back!

It’s a bit tight with a larger unit. My camper is 34’ long with slides. I moved over not to be on top picnic table of the couple next to me. The power, water and sewer were right next to their table too. I did my best to cover it for their experience.
The campsite and store are amazing. I will certainly be back but will stay in a site with a bit more space.
I would certainly recommend the campground.

We had a nice stay at the Roamstead. Due to rain, we couldn’t use all the amenities. But we loved the coziness of our cabin, the shower products were really good and also the free coffee and the free oats with milk in the morning we really enjoyed. Real dog friendly campsite with really nice cabins. They even have a playground, which was really good for our daughters.

Exactly what I pictured camping to be like clean bathrooms and showers. electric and water at all sites even areas for kids to play everyone was sweet and helpful and made us want to stay!!! You can hear the creek bubbling and it's sooo relaxing there!

Ideal base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. Wish I could have spent more than one night. Our pet-friendly cabin was perfectly clean, and the whole site was well-maintained. I’ll have to return to explore some more!

We had a really good but extremely short stay here would have like to stay longer. There was some confusion being able to check in after hours, but it worked out and I would recommend it. It was really clean and comfortable in this year. It was a beautiful property plenty of lights and we love the stream that went right nearby.

This place was so great we added an extra day right away! If you can back into a site, I recommend!! The little river kept us busy all day! Stayed 3 nights and never left camp, although there is lots to see not terribly far away. The girls at the lodge were super friendly and the kids activity book that turns into free ice cream was a total hit with our 2 children! We hope to return in the future. Thanks for great memories and a beautiful facility!

The Roamstead camp ground was incredible, they have every amenity you could wish to have, plus more! Free coffee in the mornings, and homemade cookies in the afternoon, games, fire pits, and very friendly staff! It’s very close to a Smoky Mountain park entrance, as well as Gatlinburg. We stayed in an Oak cabin and had the best trip. Hopefully I get a chance to go back soon!

We had a blast!! Stayed in the yurt for a few days and hated to leave. The staff was personable and the atmosphere incredible. Showers and bathroom were very clean, We were impressed.

Tent sites are a little tight, one to another, but other than that Roamstead is perfect in every way—well thought out design overall and beautifully executed; bathroom facilities well maintained; pool is a nice touch. I'd definitely stay again.

I had such an enjoyable and peaceful stay at Roamstead. I brought my small travel camper, and there were campers and RVs of all shapes and sizes. Also a very calm atmosphere for those traveling with pets (I brought my dog). Great amenities, perfect distance from attractions and hikes, clean, and quiet. The lodge and pool and very nice and I was impressed by all they had to offer! I will certainly be back.

We absolutely LOVED our stay! We were greeted with fresh backed cookies. A free bandana for our dog and a smile! Our campsite was right on a babbling brook and we were rocked to sleep by its sound every night. They also had a pool! So I was able to relax with a beer after a long morning hike and get a little sun! They have free coffee and granola in the morning as well. Definitely going to make it one of our go to spots on our summer camping adventure trip!

We had the best time during our stay at Roamstead! The location of the campground was great, our site was well maintained (had an electrical issue when we arrived that was addressed immediately) and the accommodations were wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly and the common spaces were clean and well maintained. We can’t wait to come back!
