We had an excellent time tent camping at this site! Couldn’t ask for a more peaceful getaway! Upon arriving we were immediately greeted by 3 of the nicest dogs we’ve ever met. They gave us great company during the day and helped us feel safe at night! Patti was kind enough to bring us some farm fresh eggs which we were very thankful for! Would absolutely stay here again and hope to soon!

Upon arrival I was greeted by their friendly farm dogs, which stayed with me at my camp all night. Patti was very welcoming and gave me fresh farm eggs. The site is the furthest away from the road and neighbors the creek’s small falls that lulled me to sleep. The dogs kept the critters at bay and were a welcome site in the morning. Great site!

Great spot on the corner with easy access to the creek! Caught a few brookies! We had a lovely time! The night watch of the doggies was an added bonus! 💜

Site was great, loved the sound of the water as we tried to sleep. If it were a star rating, I'd say 4 of 5. It is off grid, I had no cell reception, but there was more traffic than I'd anticipated, including furry feet LOL! But it was cozy, spacious and would go back again without my own pets.

We had a great stay here and will return when we get the chance. Patti was very welcoming and great to communicate. Her dogs were great and chased something away one of the nights we were there. The creek was low, but you could still hear it well, and was a nice lullaby.

Perfect spot for a set up, flat land & a creek bed to cool off at! Host was very nice & welcoming. 3 furry friends who welcomed & guarded us all night. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot, especially being so last minute!

The site 2 is the best. Access to the creek with small rapids. I was able to put my large army tent in the nook of the cedar trees..not super private but quiet enough.. the dogs were a great asset to me because the coyotes are a bit nosey when the lights go out. The dogs chase them away and hung out with me the whole time.. being 64 yrs old and camping by myself I felt completely safe and secure. Patti was out of town but Gil made sure to check on me as I requested.i brought my beach water chair and was in the rapids most of the 4 days I was there reading and watching the butterflies and listening to the birds. The site is visible from the road. And a set of stairs or rock steps need to be there to access the creek more safely.. so in conclusion I had a wonderful experience and got some yummy eggs to being home for my family.. I will camp again with them at chatty farm.

This was the best staycation around Middle Tennessee for us, this campsite was perfect for us two adults and our two boys (7 & 8). We had two tents that slept perfectly level, and then there was a wonderful fire ring right by the water along a big rock beach. Our boys (and us) loved wading through the creek, checking out all the cool rocks, TON of crinoid, crawdads, salamanders, and other cool things. Our boys absolutely loved the 3 dogs and quickly adopted them for the weekend, they were so calm and gentle- they definitely made our trip even more special.
Super quick trip to Caney Fork Outdoors for kayak rentals down the Caney, so it was extremely convenient for our Saturday outing. The open field in the front of the campsite yields for wonderful stargazing too!
The host was super knowledgeable of the area and gave us some ideas of things to do & a great heads up about the store down the street. The eggs at the farm are delicious, some of the best yolk we’ve ever eaten! Highly recommend this hip camp and can’t say enough great things about it.

Would definitely come back, site 2 was really nice and private with easy access to the creek. The owners were very hospitable and even gave us some of their farm fresh eggs, and their dogs entertained us and guarded us all night. And the blanket of stars were beautiful. Overall, a good place

I don’t know if I can say enough positive things about Patti’s site #3 camping spot. From the the constant white noise of the little waterfall, to the countryside, an open field for our dog to run in, to her dogs becoming his new friends, this is a wonderful place to stay.
Our pitbull is large, and he was the smallest dog there. Their German shepherd wore him out with all the playing, and the two Pyrenees were sleeping most of the day away to chase off the nighttime animals.
Patti met us out there after we arrived and gave us a little info about the place, and was incredibly gracious in offering us to use her place if we ever needed cell service.
With an ice cold creek to romp in, fields to run in, and trails across the street to hike on, we will absolutely be coming back to this location. And to mention the farm fresh eggs she gave us that she cleaned that morning, they were absolutely delicious is breakfast tacos the next day.

Fantastic trip! We stayed at site 2 which had great access to the creek for the kids. Plenty of room for a full size family tent plus a 2 person tent. Delicious fresh eggs for breakfast!
The highlight for us, though, was having the farm dogs hang out with us. They are the sweetest, best dogs and absolutely made the trip for the kids (and me to be honest)!

Site 3 - Chatty Heifer Farm
We loved site #3. We REALLY liked Patti and the whole thing they have going on at Chatty Heifer. We plan to return and recommend it to anyone else. Points to ponder:
1. Remote location, peaceful. We are eager to return in warmer months to get the full benefit of the sounds of the creek overnight.
2. Scenic. As you look across Dickson Creek to the ridge opposite the farm (spring leaves have just started to come in) is another similar pasture that served as backdrop for wild turkey and a few deer. In the direction of Patti’s place “behind” the campsites you get a vista of a nice but not formidable Cumberland ridge. Patti says there are hiking trails there but we didn’t take advantage this trip.
3. Dogs and eggs. 3 fantastic canine friends of Patti’s will be your companions at times. They are pleasant & SMART. Good humored, sweet dogs. Would pay to talk with Patti if you plan to bring your own though. I don’t think our poodle would’ve done well with them, but that is just our dog. He is a little too friendly and small. Oh—-and Patti may bring you a half dozen fresh eggs from her henhouse in milder months.
4. If you want to get away from the site it is easy to do. We were gone for several hours and nothing was changed. Dogs didn’t bother anything. (We stored food items in our camper trailer because you never know about raccoons etc.).

Beautiful site! Patti was super helpful and gave us some fun things to do in the area. She even brought us some eggs which was such a nice surprise. The site was private and the water running in the creek was great to fall asleep to.

Patti was really nice and having a fire ring creek-side was great. We stayed at campsite 2 and it had a continent spot to set up a tent. We backed our car right up to the little spot. It’s not a very large site, and the provided firewood was not the best for burning, but overall it was a very enjoyable place to camp for a night. There’s a big field to one side of the site and the stars over it are bright and in abundance.

We had a good time tent camping on the property. Patti and her husband were very welcoming! They showed us the goats and chickens on the property, and we were lucky enough to get some of those yummy eggs. The creek is fun, and is a good place to cool down if you get hot. The only drawback is having a road right next to the camping grounds. It wasn't very busy, but just a heads up in case you have an aversion to that.

We loved our weekend here! We were at site 3. The campground had plenty of room. The creek was lovely, and we loved hearing it at night. The highlight, though, was having the farm dogs hanging out with us. They lazed around the campsite all day, then patrolled all night. We felt very safe with them watching out for us! We will be back!

Patti was very kind her and her three dogs met us upon arrival and show us the camping spot, and gave us some of their farm fresh eggs which was so very sweet of her. It was just in the field across from the main house with a road in-between, not much traffic but the spot is in plain view of the road. The creek was a nice cool off and the fire wood they had available was very helpful. The dogs were very friendly stayed around our camp most of the day and night making themselves quite at home so make sure you like dogs! A nice place for a quick quiet getaway.
