Inside, an open common area—including a fully-equipped and gleaming kitchen—faces cathedral windows overlooking the deck, the woods, and the lake. These windows span the width of the house, all the way up to the lofted sleeping area, which is perched at the tree line.
If a chill lingers in the air during your getaway, the radiant in-floor heating will warm your toes.

And the water here is calm and peaceful, with less motorboat traffic than on many of the lakes in this area. Not to mention the water clarity: spring-fed Strawberry Lake is so clear; you can see almost 17 feet straight down to the bottom!
And this time of year, the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, located just three miles away, is a spectacular place for a hike or cycling. Buffalo River is a great little spot for a weekend camp. Amenities are true to a traditional state park plus an awesome swim pond. There are a few miles of trails all pretty easy treks to be made in under and hour, easy for groups or children.
I frequently make day trips out to Buffalo River. It is wonderful!
