Tiny home nestled in Tahoe National forest . This little gem is on an acre of land surrounded by national forest land. Close enough to Lake Tahoe but away from the chaos. Host lives on property with 4 year old German shepherd. I typically leave for the weekend, however i will probably be there if booking during the week (Ill be gone most of the day though) . There are 4 neighbors but their properties are not visible, feels very private. Please be respectful of the neighbors property, they all have cameras :) The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. Tiny house: •Full sized futon downstairs, no bedding provided please bring your own if planning on using the futon. • King sized mattress in loft. Bedding provided but please try to bring your own!! • board games , cards, chess, fire pit, projector for movies if requested!!! • Hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, kitchen appliances, coffee . Black stone grill outside. Fire pit • Separate bathroom, outdoor sink and shower. *sink inside tiny home does not work* Additional guests are welcome to pitch a tent on the land if needed. ***Lake Spaulding is closed the rest of 2026 to the public!! ***No driving access however...the lake is a 1/4 mile hike down from the property. (bring good walking shoes) They are working on the lake so just be respectful and keep to yourself, go wherever they aren't working. Rivers/lakes/swimming holes: •emerald pools, cliff jumping , waterfalls . 10 min drive •south yuba river 5-15 min •bowman lake road connects to several lakes, blue lake is my favorite but its a very rocky road beware •lake valley reservoir , 10 min •donner lake, rent kayaks, paddle boards or a boat. 25 min •eagle lakes rd swimming hole. 5 min •Truckee: fun shops, restaurants/ bars, 30 min . Nevada City is renowned for its excellent food, shopping, nightlife and farmer’s market. A leisurely walk into town takes 45 mins, bike in 15 or drive in 5. Grass Valley is 10 minutes away as well and has more food, shopping, and entertainment for you. Access to the Yuba River is as close as 20 mins to Edwards Crossing and 20 mins to Hoyts Crossing on Highway 49. We absolutely recommend trying to stay for two or more nights so that you can get accustomed to the space, learn the property, settle in, and relax. Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm. Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night. Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot.  Things you might like to bring: headlamps,  robe,  flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes. Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious. The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils please! The outdoor shower is lovely :) Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. Please leave the lighter behind for the next guest. Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights, It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. This is a real treat during our hot summers. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season. We live in the woods, there are bugs and wild animals on/or near the property. This is part of the country charm and should be expected. Please don't leave food outside.  Land acknowledgment: We acknowledge that our property is located on unceeded land. The Colfax Amtrak stop is only a 10 minute walk from the house, there's also a Greyhound line that stops in town.

Camp Watanda is a retired girls summer camp. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 sleeping cabins close to the waterfront lots of space for pitching tents/dispersed camping. The sleeping cabins all have 8-10 mattresses, grilling table, picnic table, cooler, smoke alarms, rake, broom and fire extinguishers. We are pet friendly. Our waterfront has a large fire ring (only available before May 1 and after Nov 1), 2-covered pergolas, canoes, kayaks, life jackets and charcoal grill. Lots of fish in the lake, since this is a private lake, no license is required. There is also a bathhouse (very primitive and in serious need of remodel) with 3 showers, 3 toilets and 3 sinks. There is no cell reception but wifi available on most of the property. Refund policy allows for full refund up to 2 weeks prior to start of booking. Camp Watanda is private property, campers assume all liability for being on site. There is no lifeguard present. This is a natural habitat for woodland animals, poison oak, etc. - there is an associated risk for camping in their home.

Our solar-powered farmhouse overlooks the mountains and an organic orchard and garden, with two queen bedrooms lined with hand-milled sugar pine from the land, high speed wifi, waterfalls, and private network of trails to hike or bike. Walk to refreshing creek swimming hole or private Yuba river swimming access available at certain times. Included in your stay is seasonal organic produce to gather out your doorstep in our family's organic garden and hammocks to relax in under the fruit trees, creek and river. Relax and rejuvenate in nature. The two bedrooms downstairs have queen beds handcrafted of sugar pine milled from downed trees from the land and are fitted with organic sheets. Downstairs has a bathroom with tub and shower, living room with mid-century furniture, views of the orchard and a tv for cozy movie nights. Upstairs is a fully-stocked kitchen with gas stove, oven, and all chef's amenities, foldout queen sleeper, bathroom with shower and outdoor table for a sunset dinner. Cool mountain air refreshes your nights or feel the luxury of air conditioning on a hot summer afternoon. After a relaxing day in the mountains, perhaps star gaze from the patio or orchard. To get to the sandy beach and creek spot, called Barkhouse Beach, take an easy stroll through the forest. The nearby Barkhouse, close to the creek, is a reconstruction of a typical Maidu Indian dwelling. Walk inside to experience the traditional history of this land. Or cool off in the Yuba River at the South Yuba River State Park, just a 5-minute drive from the farmhouse. Ask about accommodating additional guests.

Adam has a very nice piece of land, it is a perfect setting for what he has done with it. You get a bit of everything the deep forest to open prairies. The cabins are very rustic, I only saw inside of the Geronimo, however the others appear to be equal in quality. I absolutely loved the group cabins beautiful! ( from the outside of course) If you enjoy just unplugging and being in nature this is where to go. Make sure you do bring bug repellent. Thank you, Adam for sharing your land, with individuals like myself who just need a break from the hustle and bustle.

We loved our stay at Om Sweet Om. Dustin and Om have created a sweet spot to get away from it all, in comfort! They were super welcoming, and made our stay perfect. Our tent had a comfy bed and linens, and a table on which to have our meals. We enjoyed playing Scrabble (which was in the tent!,) and loved visiting with all of the furry and feathered residents. The cold plunge was a treat after a day of hiking, and the sunsets were just stunning. And their outhouse was an A+ as far as outhouses go! ; )

Such an amazing stay! The camping site was beautifully set up and organized. Great site to just relax under the stars with the dogs. Got some of the best sleep ever! Bathroom facilities were also very nice and plenty of space and privacy. A lot of activities to do in the surrounding areas as well. I highly recommend!

Our birthday weekend getaway was everything we could have hoped for. My partner and I were looking for a peaceful escape that felt completely secluded from the rest of the world, and this place exceeded every expectation. We brought our two dogs, and they had the best time exploring and playing in the creek—they absolutely loved every minute of our stay. Dan did an incredible job making the space feel cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. To make the trip even more unforgettable, my partner proposed on our very first day there, making this beautiful place one we’ll always cherish. The directions were incredibly easy to follow, and the rock lookout was such a fun bonus with amazing views. The outhouse was surprisingly clean and comfortable, and bathing in the creek was one of our favorite experiences. The cold water was such a refreshing shock and left us feeling completely rejuvenated afterward. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend and can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you, Dan, for creating such a special getaway—we’ll always remember it.

Such a dreaaammm. It was exactly the little getaway I so desperately needed from the bay. My only regret is not figuring out how to stay one more night. Although, I do believe it was such a dream (besides the gorgeous amenities) was the fact that no one else was staying in the yurts. I didn’t realize the lack of privacy before getting there so I want to post this so it’s a bit more clear. From the deck of the poppy yurt, you can clearly see nearly half the tub. The other yurt has even more clear of a view. That being said, I had it all nearly to myself and I watched the full moon rise both nights from that beautiful tub. The bedding is also such an incredible treat. Feels so plush and luxurious.

My wife and I had the most amazing stay at Sky Canyon. The wolf moon camping spot was absolutely magical, and the on-site amenities made our trip even better. The host, Lucie, was very communicative and so helpful, going above and beyond to make sure that our stay went well. The sleeping area was spacious and clean, and the on-site restroom was clean and well taken care of. We absolutely would love to stay here again, and would recommend to anyone looking to have a great time with a low-effort camping trip.

The bathhouse is a treasure. My kid and I enjoyed the hot tub in the evening, and then again in the early morning. Being in that wooden hot tub with all the trees in front made me feel so in tune with myself. Jo communicated quickly and even though I didn’t meet her in person, in her messages she was very nice. The bedding was clean. I got to see the sunrise through the trees from the platform while meditating, and after the hot tub soaking we left to spend the day in Nevada city. My kid and I had a great stay.

The Honeycomb Hut was amazing! My husband and I had a nice and relaxing anniversary weekend. The cabin is beautiful, you can see the thought and detail that went into creating it. The skylights, large window, and twinkly lights made everything cozy and peaceful. We had the best time at Dan's semi-glamping spot! I took my 10 and 12 year old boys. It was so easy to arrive late on Friday and have most everything set up. The site is secluded, right on a creek with small swimming holes. The boys caught a ton of crawdads and had a great time on the SUPs at Lake Davis, which is a short 10min drive away. We'll be back with their mom!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Luxury Yurt @ Lazy Dog Ranch

This was one of the most peaceful places I've ever been. You already start to feel calm just driving to the yurt, and when you get there, it's a perfect, cute little fairy haven. It is spotless, perfectly fitted for comfort and aesthetics, with a wildly comfortable mattress, sheets, and pillows. You'll desire everything in the yurt, from the old school vintage fridge to the Marshall speaker. It's also got everything you need for staying in and cooking, or nearby Nevada City downtown has lovely spots to eat and listen to music. The bathroom is a full, comfortable bathroom directly attached to the room. The swimming spot 6 minutes' drive away is one of the coolest locations I've ever been with perfect temperatures, at least in June. Thank you so much for this stay, my first HipCamp stay!

Weekend Trip to Yuba Retreat

Had a great time with my 18m twins and my mom and sister over a weekend. It was so fun seeing the kids get into the spirit of things during their first river hangout. They also learned about picking berries in the amazing garden, they were quick students to how that works. We'll look forward to returning! Thanks for sharing this amazing space.

Creek Campground

This spot is close to home and beautiful! We camp in our travel trailer here and enjoy the water fun and beach. Always clean and beautiful. They have great 4th of July activities for the whole family. Will always go back!

Donner Lake is a magical little retreat and a nice change of pace from the busier, bigger Lake Tahoe. Camping at Donner during the 4th of July is a treat. Fireworks go off down at the west end of the lake so reserve a site early or stake out a spot along one of the many public docks to get the best view.
