We are currently *under construction*. Our forest was damaged by the draught and so there are changes underway. Please excuse our appearance as we shift toward becoming a food forest.
Solomon's Garden is a 5 acre homestead located in the Black Warrior River valley. Our site is currently under land work construction, as we are recovering from the pine beetle disaster that has ravaged Alabama. Our beautiful pine trees are no more and we are in the process of rebuilding the campground, planting a food forest and adding an additional shower/toilet facility.
We currently have a semi-private camping area in our small orchard that is flat and grassy that we recommend for tent campers on any day. We also have a larger, more remote camp area available on dry days. We expect land work to be complete in June and are eagerly awaiting the grass, wildflowers and native herbs to return following all this spring rain.

We are a small Homestead in Parrish, Alabama. We have lots of silkie and large chickens as well as 8 nigerian dawrf goats and two adorable mini cows. All of the animals are friendly and enjoy being pet. We have a large fire pit in the back property for campfires and fun as well as a composting outhouse for guest use. Come pet the animals and have a nice campfire while looking up at the stars!

We loved the site. Our entire trip, my husband wanted to be out in the wilderness and enjoy the country view in the morning. We found it at Hilltop. Brian was very responsive and accommodating. We had to make a last minute booking at 9pm and he not only responded immediately, he made sure we were taken care of and had good info and directions. We were easily a le to pull in and get hooked up. In the morning we were able to set up chairs and drink our coffee looking out over the trees. Very peaceful and private. Exactly what we wanted. The kids played while we made breakfast. Then we had fun walking down to the farm and petting the goats. Their dog came out to greet us and was so sweet and fun. The kids played fetch with her. It was a 1-night stop in our travels and the kids are already asking to go back. Thank you Brian and family for a great stop in our vaca.

We had a fantastic stay! The location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet just a few minutes from downtown and Northport. Brian was an excellent host and very communicative. Heads up for RV travelers: the gravel driveway is steep, and we needed 4WD to get our 25-foot camper up. Just be prepared if you have a larger rig.

We had such a fun and memorable stay at Happy Hoves! Our visit even included a surprise guest—a curious goat who wandered in to check out our site. While he wasn’t Brian’s goat, our host was quick to step in and try to catch him and figure out where he belonged. It made for a lighthearted and unforgettable twist to our trip, and we appreciated how attentive and responsive Brian was.
The hosts were genuinely friendly, helpful, and easy to reach, which made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. The location was also great for us—we were even able to Uber to a concert nearby, which was a huge bonus.
Our hilltop site was one driveway down from the GPS address, just up the paved road on the left. Once we had the directions, it was easy to find. The spot itself was peaceful and scenic, a perfect mix of privacy and open views. We did need to use leveling blocks for our rig since the site had a bit of slope, but that was no issue and pretty typical for hillside camping.
Between the welcoming hosts, the convenient location, and our unique goat encounter, this stay will definitely be one we remember. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend Happy Hoves to anyone looking for a friendly, scenic, and well-located Hipcamp spot.

This was a great experience. Brian and his wife were very friendly and made our overnight stay comfortable and enjoyable. There was even a special event that made our stop extra meaningful for our 7-year-old granddaughter. Just hours before our arrival, one of their goats had 2 kids! Our granddaughter was able to hold and cuddle the newborns. We even stopped by the next morning on the way out to say goodbye to the newborns.
The site up on the hill (earlier rain made the field too wet) was perfect.

Before we arrived, Brian let us know the field was really muddy from the rain, so he moved us to the hill, which had an awesome view of the wooded neighborhood and the night sky was amazing. He met us as we pulled in to make sure we were ok. Although the hill was in the open, it still offered privacy, as it was surrounded by the forest. The only issue was that the gravel was black and grey, and without shade, the a/c in our camper had a hard time keeping us cool during the day. We visited the goats, and Brian's wife, Katie, was very pleasant and allowed us in the field to interact with them (the goats were a little shy though). I would highly recommend Happy Hooves Farm and would love to stay again.

Tent camping at Crystal’s beautiful little farm was just right for me as a woman traveling alone. The camping area was very private and at the back of the property but felt safe and secure because Crystal and her charming husband live at the front of the property and anyone coming in has to pass right close to their house. Mr Crystal patiently guided me to a trail for hiking behind the property and I had a short hike through some stunningly beautiful woods and meadows before sundown. Sunset was gorgeous. I could see it through the trees from my tent. Kids will definitely enjoy the friendly and adorable animals.

Sunset Hill Farm was great - exactly as advertised! The hosts were very nice, informative, and accommodating. All the animals were interactive and the field provided for camping is large, set back away from the main house/off the road, and has a huge fire pit. 10/10 would definitely camp there again/recommend others camp there!

Sites are first come first serve so get there early. Sites on the water are beautiful with great sunsets. Large decks at sites allow for plenty of space. Great park. Well kept secret. Beautiful trails.

A small state park centered around a lake with forests surrounding. The park is most popular with mountain bikers and rv ers. You can hike the main trail around the lake in about six hours. The lake itself tends to get minimal use. The campsites are spacious and scenic but no undergrowth for privacy. Facilities are well maintained.
